How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

- very nice common area with lots of hammocks and space to hang out. the pool is also nice - the shared dorms were comfortable - very social and many attempts by the staff to make you have a great time. a lot of activities planned - the location is great. close to everything

Perhaps just ask large groups not to make so much noise at 7am.
The staff was very nice. I liked that they organized nightly activities and it was easy to book excursions from the hostel. The room was comfortable with AC. Central location as well.

Staff were so friendly and helpful with anything we needed, they definitely make the stay a lot better!! Aside from that, it's a really nice hostel in a good location. Lots of chill out areas, clean pool, a bar, restaurant, and fully equipped kitchen, so something for everyone. Rooms are perfect too!

Our shower was faulty which made it slow and challenging to shower.
Really tidy ensuite room, really spacious and clean. It had a nice rustic feel to it. We didn't use the pool but it looked really clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel was quiet, especially compared to other hostels in the area.

Really nice hostel in the center of leon, very friendly and helpful staff, calm, clean, with a huge kitchen and dining area. They help a lot for organising Shuttles, Tours etc.! Would definitely recommend and would go there again rightaway I appreciated the stay very much

Bathrooms could be cleaner but this is mostly due to guests negligence.
Excellent location and nice dorm with AC. Helpful staff to organise tours and shuttle Social atmosphere without being a party hostel

Only small things - slightly shabby bathroom in our private room, window of the room looked onto walkway/garden/seating area so couldn't really keep the curtains open without everyone seeing you.
Really well located hostel, pretty courtyard/swimming pool, big seating area by the kitchen and nice hammocks. Good air con in our private room. Nice staff. Salsa lesson one evening.

I liked the layout of the building at Poco a Poco as it created a chill environment for travelers to meet and become friends. The AC in the rooms and personal fans in the pods were great also. The lockers could be slightly bigger but were mostly fine. Overall this was one of the better hostels Ive ever been to

In the beginning, it’s not that easy to find the door to the hostel as the entrance could be made a bit more obvious
Nice interior yard with pool, common kitchen, garden, hammocks and desks spread out across the area.

Absolutely everything. The staff and the vibe were the stand out points. Chill but sociable hostel, meaning you can dip in and out of the party as you wish. Great location. Lovely family dinner on NYE. Can’t recommend this place enough. Was there just over a week and it felt like a home away from home.

It’s not the hostels fault as they aren’t allowed to serve alcohol but it would have been nice to be able to get a beer. You can bring in your own from a supermarket though.
Great place to stay in Leon the staff were so helpful. We enjoyed their taco night.
