Loved the location and the vibe. Amazing staff and fun place. It was just too hot at night even with fans. This was for an August trip. I personally need a/c in this part of the country. But the place itself is great!

Right on the beach, we enjoyed our charming double room. The staff are very friendly and there is a good beach ‘vibe’ going on. Surf boards for rent, excursions available. Amazing sunset!

In my opinion the price is a bit too high for what you get, a simple room in a surf hostel. Shower was not much more than a trickle. But nonetheless we had a nice quiet two days there.

Great staff, great food, steps to the beach, clean,safe,lots of activities.

Beds were a little small, but I am a big guy.

The location is great and overall the structure of the hostel is nice.

Has potential but needs to have a make over. And New employees, they are rude, mainly care about themselves or nicuraguans. Fridge was cleaned suddenly and all food was thrown or shuffled. There is a volleyball field but in the afternoon the people from there come and kind of kick you out. The surf rental in front is a big scam.

- perfect location!! - nice chill areas - very nice vibe - nice and creative design with the wood - surfing: not always the best waves but not many people, so still worth it

- dorms bit too small, no space for things - not the most comfy beds - kitchen too small when more people were cooking at the same time BUT would still definitely go back there!

Great place to relax and rejuvenate. I came here in search of a nice place to rest after a rowdy few days in Leon and this did just the trick. Wish I could have stayed longer! They have plenty of hammocks for chilling, delicious food and smoothies in the bar, and it’s right on the beach for a quick dip or some suntanning. There’s even volleyball :) The rooms are open-air and right next to the kitchen but even though I could hear everyone, I still managed to go to sleep early while everyone was awake and the lights did go out around 10pm as promised.

The shower is barely a drip. I second the reviews that say they’d prefer a bucket shower. You could barely even rinse the soap it was so pitiful. I think they were doing maintenance or cleaning something in the middle of the night? Lots of people walking around with headlamps on that shone into the room and woke me up. But they didn’t make any noise so maybe that’s ok for you.

Everyone loves this place. Lots going on for dorm folks, for surf learners, for folks who just want to hang out, maybe to meet other travelers. Maybe not. Nice rooms upstairs until you discovered that you had visitors overnight. Some staff is friendly, some has seen too many people coming and going. Food, drinks for your hunger and thirst. Decent, not the best, but it'll be delivered as you sit staring out at the surf. Can't be bad. Free coffee before 9am. Free water. Free use of kitchen, I didn't - was just happy hanging out for a few days even when it rained a lot.

Morning surprise: Bat shit and it's all over the room. Then a weak, drippy shower that tests your patience. C'mon, why do so many hotel owners think that this would save water? I'd rather use the bucket shower to get my day started than standing under that a fancy bamboo pole but only restricted by a plastic insert with tiny holes. There you have it... little morning unpleasantry that will soon dissipate.

Staff very lovely, beach by the door, sleep with the sound of waves.

Kitchen could be better, it could have more activities. But in general it is a very good hostel.

Very very touristy in a bit of a pushy way. Nice staff and food however. The private rooms were really worth paying extra for.

Exceptional place, the most amazing hostel I have ever visited. It has all you need for your stay. The food and drinks are so good. The owners are super cool and the staff is absolutely brilliant. I wish I had more time to spend in this pure gem. I will definitely be back next year:) hasta luego Mano a Mano!!!

The beach is absolutely fantastic and this place is a heart of the area. There are plenty of activities on offer, including onsite surfing school. Or you just can spend your time relaxing in hammock. The meal choices are well priced and delicious. The hosts are very helpful. Make sure you sign up for beach bbq when offered.

Really nice hostel on the beach with lots of activities and tours. There's a bar and really good food, plus you can pay card which is rare in Las Penitas. Room was really nice and spacious, we love the hamacs too. Nice people working there.

The bats poop every morning, not much to do about the bats but if the room could be sweep without having to ask would be better.

Right on the beach, excellent staff, lots of activities, easy check-in, good food, a lively place, affordable, the rooms were clean.

The shared washrooms were often not clean.

Beautiful location, very social, a lot of activities and things to do offered by the hostel. Cool place to hang out!

On a note in the room we found out that Fred the bat was living in our room. At first we didn't matter that much, but the amount of bat-shit in the morning that was scattered all over the room turned out not to be that pleasant. They cleaned it up though, but still I think they should take care of this in an other way as it felt quite unhygienic.
