Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The distance between Vertigo and The Blowfish is a disincentive. Neighbourhood unkempt even by Lagos standard

The air condition is not working properly. It's not cool enough throughout our entire 3 nights stay. The room (in the Vertigo) was nice but showing signs of wear or shoddy workmanship...which is unfortunate as it impacts the overall experience as it is otherwise a great room. Rooms can do with a fresh lick of paint and removing of plaster from tiles.

The POOL and restaurant area was very nice! However, I was NOT impressed with the room and accommodations at the BLOWFISH! After expressing my concerns, the management was very accommodating and moved me across the street to the VERTIGO! This is what I was expecting for the expensive price! (Nevertheless it was the Xmas holiday so prices were steep) The Vertigo was much more secure, upscale, modern accommodations. Furthermore, they had a beautiful rooftop restaurant with stunning views of VI and a JUMPING CLUB on the roof rooftop !

There was an issue with the air conditioner, but staff addressed immediately .
The property was clean and the staff was absolutely amazing . The lounge are by the pool had a nice vibe. There was a variety of food to order.

Beds are not the softest in the world.
A conveniently located hotel on VI with great staff in both the reception and on the bar outside. The facilities are modern, clean and well-functioning. For the price this hotel was a no-brainer. Would visit again, 100%.

Switching of the generator to electricity messed with the lights in the bedroom. They would stop working. Bed was a bit too hard for my preference
Staff are friendly. Especially those at breakfast and at the bar area by the pool.

Supposed to be bottle of wine included in room. Not . Pool closes 5 pm. Shock to find they charged my card £1070 pounds for one night. It was supposed to be £102. Supposedly it will be refunded.

The pool closes at 5pm. This wasn't mentioned anywhere so a tad disapponting. Not enough towels in the room and not all sockets worked until we found the breakers. Checking in took over an hour as staff kept being pulled to do other things. It wasn't particularly busy and the area was comfortable but it was extremely slow. Beautiful hotel but patience is required. .
The staff were friendly and ready to help. Room was clean Room service was decent Breakfast was good.

They informed they stopped collecting bookings made via your website due to the festive period since 15th December and I wonder why booking.com wasn't informed so guests stop booking via the app while they gave preference to bookings via the hotel website

For a tea lover, I take tea every night and hotel will provide it only once for my 3 night stay as against the culture of daily replacement from every hotel i ever stayed in. Breakfast was repetitive on the same menu and didn't have alot of options. Hallway and rooms are a bit dark for me.
Ease of access. The wide variety of options the restaurants (for other meals) have is impressive. The staff were generally very nice (polite and super courteous) My return flight was moved from a 7am to 6pm, I asked and got extended check out till 3pm.
