How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Verified reviewI liked the staff: nice, funny, smiling and helpful. The place is so quiet, that was a must. The beds were comfortable and looked clean. We didn't have time to book for the restaurant but next time, we'll try it.
The parking lot access was a bit tricky, the bathtub was small and old, the air conditioner made so much noise during the night, we had to turn if off.

Verified reviewThe property is close to restaurants, beach and shops. It has a panoramic rotating restaurant on the 19th floor to view the island while eating. The doors have good protection against noise. The rooms are functional like a home not like a walk in/out hotel where you must seek and find every facility or convenience. Sometimes we can pay a lot more elsewhere and not get more than a kettle in the room. This can be expensive for people who have long stays. So we appreciate where sometime quantity over quantity matters in short stints to spend money where it matters (experiences outside of the room). Short cheap taxi ride to city. I cannot fault the staff. Very kind and welcoming.
We only stayed 2 nights (we stayed in 3 hotel experiences across New Caledonia within our stay -including an island) to see other parts of Nouméa. Each Hotel played a role /resource in our stay. Even though it is close to everything, the property does not have a main walkthrough access to shops. Instead, you have to walk around the block each time. The rooms are a bit dated but I liked that it had a fully functional kitchen (which we needed to store wine and deli meats/cheese).

Verified reviewThe room was comfortable - enjoyed the bedroom and the kitchen space - great to have most of the crockery and utensils in the drawers, and to have a cooktop helped with quick meals. Also the fridge was a good mini size to fit several food items. Also liked the extra work table in the living area as could work and watch TV, although it would be nice to have more than just the one channel in English. Great to also have an iron and ironing board in the room.
Would have liked to have had a fan or air-conditioner in the living room. It was hot so this would have helped. There was a smell coming from the bathroom floor drainage; like that of stagnant water, and after running the tap I thought it would clear, but it never did.

My room was not cleaned in the 5 days I stayed there!!. I put a sign up not to clean my room for the first 2 days as there was no need . On day 3, I put up sign to clean my room, my room was not cleaned. When I enquired at reception I was told my room would not be cleaned as Booking .com had told the hitel not to clean it!! I questioned this but the male receptionist was not cooperative at all!! I never experienced this before in my life , I have stayed in hotels all over the world and my room is cleaned. The male receptionist was not friendly and insisted my room would not be cleaned! Before I arrived I tried to book a taxi but the receptionist didn't get back to me on time and told me she doesnt check messages on Saturday or Sundays!!. Then I was accused of not paying for tea when I checked out, when I had told the lady in reception about he tea the day before and paid for it and my bus shuttle in cash, but a different receptionist insisted I hadn't!! Overall the staff were rude, unfriendly, unhelpful not customer friendly, arrogant and clearly need training in customer services!! I twice contacted Booking .com about my room not being cleaned, but no one got back to me and I use them a lot!! Overall not impressed at all. The pool area chairs were dirty and uncomfortable. I would Not recommend this hotel at all!! It was expensive and not value for money. From a seasoned traveller.

Verified reviewThe staff were lovely despite very trying time to be in Noumea (during the riots and subsequent curfews). The room was lovely the pool was perfect. The hotel was a short walk to two beautiful beaches and loads of cafes and restaurants.
Our timing for our trip meant we couldn't explore too far, but that is not the fault of the hotel. We still really enjoyed our time at the Ramada.
