Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaThe place is beautiful. No issues checking in late, we checked in around 10:30pm. Breakfast was always filling and had a bit of a variety to choose from. Really enjoyed the big bathroom (although some days they forgot to put the bathmats 😕). You can also relax by the swimming pool and they offer you drinks and whatever you want.

United StatesIt was a bit far from downtown, about a 25-minute walk or a 5-minute taxi ride. But that wasn't an issue for us.
Lovely staff, clean room and bathroom, and I think we had a CA King-size bed! The restaurant was good, we opted for the toasties, which I recommend. Breakfast was standard continental.

South AfricaSteps are bit steep up but at least I was by the first room so I didn't walk far, it seems the facility is only by the steps no lifts as its only a double story. Not a lot of options on breakfast (its not a buffet) but understandable for the price. I had trouble with the aircon.
The room was spacious, the bed big as an ocean. Comfortable, neat and lovely. Also large shower well accommodating. The staff (lady by the name Liezel) I hope I spelled her name right, really assisted me as I arrived very early but she was able to help me get a room before check in. And assisted me with my bags, really lovely lady... Thanks to her I had a lovely comfort stay. 😊

United KingdomA comfortable first floor room in an enclosed hotel with parking. Both the evening meal and breakfast that we had were filling and tasty. We didn't venture out in to the local area but the local roads were busy on our arrival and departure.

South AfricaWe travel frequently for business or pleasure and have used this booking platform with great success over many months. This establishment stood out amongst most others, because of the frendliness and professionalism of their very extensive well trained personnel corps. The establishment offers everything a well equipped hotel with a high ranking would offer. We highly recommend Windhoek Gardens Guest House for both business and pleasure travel.

SwitzerlandNo water but this was not the fault of the owners and they gave us extra drinking water which helped.
Comfortable room. Great to have a drink by the pool and a very nice restaurant on site. Also had an excellent massage. There was no need to even leave the property.

BrazilWe stayed at the hotel 2 nights (the 1st and last of our 2-week trip around Namibia). It's a very good option as it provides rooms with good space, comfy beds and good shower, as well as a small restaurant for you to have dinner if you don't feel like going out and a good breakfast for you to energize yourself before hiting the road. Personnel are very friendly. And all this for a very good price!

CanadaEverything was great
All of the staff are excellent, kind and friendly, and helpful!! Our rooms were exactly right, very clean with comfortable beds and everything we needed. The property is located in a fairly quiet area. We had supper in the on-site restaurant and it was delicious and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was included with our room and offered hot and cold options, all of which were great! We are happily staying here again on our way out of Namibia. Highly recommend.

NorwayWe made the hotel organize a ride to the airport. We were two and had to pay 850 Namibian dollar. Maybe a bit expensive.
We enjoyed our two nights at Windhoek Gardens Boutique Hotel. Room was big with tv, refridgerator and a patio where we could sit outside. We ate dinner at the restaurant both nights. We enjoyed our meals. Breakfast was very good. This is a perfect hotel to stay at when visiting Windhoek for some few days. You can walk to the city centre. Everything was fine. Nice swimming pool as well.
