How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There are some detail issue that may warrant closer inspection. Finishing touches, so to speak. The handle of the room's door were loose. Some of the tables in the dining room were wobbly that a piece of paper under the one leg easily foxed - perhaps on eye on these before guests sit down would add value.
As always the staff were excellent. The room was splendid, even without a shower. Good linen, comfy matras and overall layout good as per usual. Dinner was superb - compliments to the chef.

The bed we slept on was creaking. No extra blankets in the room.

Room 10 lacked some basic features e.g coat hooks in bedroom and bathroom but my parents in room 11 had these. Potentially stunning view from Room 10 view blocked by a tree which was a pity. Room 11 had a gorgeous view. Breakfast dining room extremely cold despite an effort to heat it with patio heaters.
Beautiful location. Friendly staff. Spacious rooms. Delicious, fresh breakfast. We would certainly stay there again. The new road makes this a convenient location for shopping at Grove Mall, visiting Hero’s Acre and also for the airport.

We did not have any hot water and the communication from the staff was not great. We were not able to have a shower until the following day as the geyser needed resetting. The manager did finally explain this to us but not when we immediately advised them of the issue. Dinner was lovely but the breakfast was not really adequate and lacked the choices of other lodges we had stayed in during our trip.
The location in the hills was lovely but quite difficult to find due to the new airport road being built. The sat nav directions did not account for this and we had difficulty accessing the lodge.

only complaint would be the beds, they were noisy when turning and not comfrtable.
The facilities are amazing, beautiful mountain views. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Restaurant food was also amazing.

I had a shuttle booked and confirmed and when I was at airport, the driver forgot to collect me. I had to make other arrangements. The staff on my second nights stay was not attentive to guests. I had to everytime get up and search for someone just to tell them I would like to order etc. But overall a fantastic experience.

About half the cocktail menu wasn’t in stock. Had an issue with our bill - they let other visitors charge their drinks to our room. Luckily we picked up on the issue on checkout and the manager rectified the situation.
Really nice view, close to Windhoek.

The service in general was a bit poor. Nobody to help with luggage on moving rooms and checking out. 5 people staff looking to you without offering to help. Not 4 stars like..
Nice Terrasse with view around to Windhoek, near the city but calm and peaceful location, clean and spacious pool, privacy for rooms with distance to each other. Staff partly very friendly, nice food.

We were disappointed with the quality of the evening meal and the breakfast. We were not advised that hot breakfast was included and available.

It was very difficult to locate the property - even with instructions from calling the hotel . It Is difficult to find . Took us an hour or more to find it
