Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NigeriaIt would be nice if they extend the WiFi services to the camping areas. This is the only downside of the property.
It’s such a nice camping experience. All facilities worked.

United KingdomThe tent is situated in the desert and so the wildlife was sometimes noisy at night - it was also a little cold in the morning - it was winter! If you want to use the kitchen area you need to ensure you bring food with you as the lodge shop does not stock food or even large bottles of water. The shower water was hot but didn't last for very long.
Beautifully situated tent. Large, very well equipped tent. It was a big sleeping space so that even with 2 adults and 2 teenagers there was enough space. Bathroom was clean and shower was enormous! The nearby lodge was a short walk away and was nice to lie by the pool and spot wildlife at the water hole. Star gazing was amazing and awesome!

BelgiumNothing.
Before arriving, I assumed the place would be a little too touristic where we prefer the "back to nature" vibe. At Desert Camp, we've found the perfect mix. In the luxury tents, you will stay in the middel of the nature, but having full comfort. A wonderfull walk of about 10 minutes brings you to the restaurant, where you will be spoiled with goooood food and a friendly staff.

GermanyA warm water bottle like at the Kalahari Anib would have helpful for the cold nights.
We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings even though the 'tents' seemed a little closer to each other than at the Kalahari Anib. We loved the well marked trails around the lodge and the walk to and from the reception.

AustriaI loved that that the Glamping tents were a bit away from the lodge and you could enjoy the quiet and peace there. The lodge which can also be used for Glamping guests (food, pool, WiFi) and is well equipped. Trips are also offered from the main lodge to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei.

ItalyOn their website it's written they have hiking trails but when mentioned to the stuff they were very elusive, provided QR codes that didn't work, and finally gave us a map that led nowhere.
Excellent dinner Great night tour looking for scorpions and learning about the southern hemisphere sky.

AustraliaWe were not allocated the tent I'd booked and had confirmed. We spent the first night in tent #1 which had a range of problems - broken tent and window zips, a faulty desert cooler and a fridge which was not cooling well. This tent is situated right next to the access road and is noisy and dusty.
Great location, good facilities, access to lodge meals, drinks etc. We liked the second night when we were able to move to tent #3. Both the safari tent and tent site were spacious and the location was quiet.

A big 10 + for everything. The spacious tent, beautifully located in the most scenic landscape. With very comfy beds and a very short walk or drive from the lodge. The pools and the restaurant at the lodge are excellent, the staff is very friendly and helpfull. Higly recommended as a place to stay near Sossusvlei.

PortugalIt is literally in the middle of nowhere which is part of the appeal but bad internet and awful road accesses can be potentially problematic
It’s very good value for money. It is a huge tent connected to a proper working private bathroom with kitchen and sitting area outside. Comfy beds, great bathroom. We went to breakfast, also good, European style buffet

AustriaWe stayed there at the end of July, It gets cold as soon as the sun sets and it's very cold at night, only 3°C. It also gets really cold inside the tent. At least it's warmer in the really spacious bathroom, where we also kept our luggage. There is no Wifi at the tent area - it's not negative, just a note.
We really liked the tents, you really get the feeling of staying in Africa. You can sit outside, really in nature. There is a nice path (next to tent 4) to the lodge, we walked there also at night. The lodge is nice, breakfast and dinner is buffet. The staff was very nice. It's a good place for a day trip to Sossusvlei and the Sesriem Canyon (they offer breakfast very early in the morning so that you can leave the place early enough)
