No complaints. If you’re going in winter, make sure you pack warmly! The beds were warm but outside it gets very cold!

Our stay at camp gecko was brilliant! The tents were gorgeously placed hidden behind the mountain. Beds were super comfy and the tents were rustic in a wonderful way. The host was very helpful and accomodating - the braai kit was perfectly organised and tea in the morning at the Lapa was stunning. It was a great spot to sit and relax.

Camp Geko is a little treasure near Solitaire. It offers nice and cosy tented rooms in front of a spectacular view on the savannah. The room and bathroom were comfortable and tidy, We also had the 3 courses meal to do a braai/barbecue in our camp spot and the food was delicious! I highly recommend this camp!

A suggestion could be solar powered in the tents. The provided lamps are very weak, but a small detail. We had our own light.

Beautiful surroundings Nice grill package Good breakfast Great little “shop” in reception with cold drinks and snacks Nice staff

The "donkie" needs a lot of wood to get it hot enough to take a shower. Take extra wood just in case.

Gecko Camp – where the wild Namibian savanna stretches out like nature's red carpet, and the sunsets look like they were painted by a show-off. The glamping tents are snug and comfy, with their own bathrooms (yes, a real shower, toilet and basin – no digging holes here!). At night, the Milky Way throws the ultimate starlit party overhead – and with zero electricity, you get front-row seats without a single lightbulb crashing the mood. Want dinner? Grab one of their grill packs and embrace your inner braai master. It’s beautifully quiet, blissfully remote, and just the right amount of wild.

Perfect place to stay between journey from Sossusvlei to Windhoek or Swakopmund. We stayed on one of the tents which was super nice and the view is simply amazing. Tents have indoor toilet and shower with running water and water can also be heated for a nice hot shower after day of hiking in Sossusvlei. No electricity at the tent, only a small lamp, which was no issue for us as we had portable lamps with us. There charging opportunity at the reception and also a micro shop where you can buy drinks, wood etc. For the price this is an absolute bargain compared to many glamping opportunities in Namibia.

Absolutely superb experience- our tented home opened every morning to a stunning African savanna vista. We had a waterhole on our doorstep, where we were able to see wild horses frolicking as the sunset. Sunrise, sunset and the sky of stars are something to behold. Camp Gecko provides a quiet space to absorb the beauty of Africa and Namibian. It is close enough to Solitaire, your one dtoo for all but also far enough to truly experience the African bush. Staff were amazing and their varied braai packs were greatly appreciated. A cannot recommend Camp Gecko enough. We will be back.

We loved how remote Camo Gecko was and how you are in the middle of nature amongst the Plains and mountains ! The experience of being right in the wild in these really cool safari tents was amazing. We wish that we stayed more than one night !! The owner is so lovely as well and gave us great suggestions!
