How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLoved having air conditioner & our own personal pool. Great having a drinks fridge & a freezer. Absolutely loved the full ptemium DSTV channel selection, especially for rainy days. Staff were very friendly & helpful.
People working elsewhere in the estate would walk through the garden & past the pool every day, as a short cut to the gate, and that wasn't nice as we were in our costumes by the pool. The beach had so much rubbish & plastic on it. Someone really needs to clean up the beach. The roads from Pearl Beach to Baleia Azul were absolutely shocking. Also very confusing as there are so many different roads so easy to get on the wrong road & get stuck.

Verified reviewthe place looked exactly like on the pictures.
Very important to note this place is in Ponta Malongane which is different from Ponta. Please note that the venue is in a very remote area (it says Ponta but it really is maybe 2 towns over), there are absolutely no shops near by and the only place to eat out is a small cafe maybe 20 mins away. The place itself is good for a staycation type of visit ( please buy your groceries and all snacks and food before you cross the border, we learnt the hard way). we were maybe 45 mins away from Ponte (town) and if you don't have a 4x4 its better if you bring everything you'll need. the beach is nearby but the way to get there is a little round a bout so it is walking distance but not a short one. The venue does have a pool so you have that. We did not have anyone to receive us on arrival so we were a bit confused for a bit but the host sorted that out eventually, the staff was very nice and they came in daily to help clean. we ended up going to town (Ponta) once and that was fun but because its a bit far we paid about R600 (2000 MZN) return. We did have a very good stay but we wish we knew about how far everything is and we could've prepared better. hint, please remember to carry cash as most places/ vendors only take cash ( there was one ATM and the line was not too fun but that's another story ) and you cannot transfer as the locals mention that the process is too long and tedious.
Dear Andile, In future, please reach out to me, and I will point you in the direction of a house in Ponta do Ouros situated in Ponta Mamoli, as stated in the description and shown on the mapping of the listing. The directions I emailed you, also stated Ponta Mamoli. Ponta Mamoli is remote, which is why, in the email I sent you before your arrival, you will notice that I advised you to bring all foods and drinks, items of a personal nature, etc. We have 70 properties that we market that are situated between Ponta do Ouro and Ponta Mamoli. It sounds like you would have preferred to have rented a less remote house in Ponta do Ouro that is more remote and in the hustle and bustle of a village. In future, please reach out to me, and I will point you in the direction of a house in Ponta do Ouro that will suite your needs better. Once again, thank you for taking the time to post your review. I look forward to your next stay!

Verified reviewHouse was well equipped and clean.
The advertisement and directions were misleading. You have to drive in about 15km of dirt road. Takes 45 minutes from the main road to the actual resort. No signage available, no lighting either. When raised concerns with the owner they were not helpful and suggested that we book elsewhere. The location was so bad that we felt unsafe and did not finish our stay and checked our early, owner did not even offer a partial refund despite pleading with her considering the circumstances.

Verified reviewThe beach with long walks along the shore.
The beach was dirty - everything that washed up during high tide. We collected some in black bags and dispose of it. Not too difficult if everyone around here does the same. :-)

There was confusion with collection of keys so could not get into our room for a while. Not easy to park close to the beach.
