United KingdomThere are many stairs up to reception so was difficult with my suitcase, however William is happy to help you if you let him know. The gated door at street level does stick (others have mentioned this). It is OK when you work out that it needs a hard shove.
I really liked this hostel. William the owner is so kind and friendly and will do anything to help you. A very interesting guy when you chat to him. The room was comfortable, good shower, the kitchen is very well equipped for those who want to make their own food, free coffee, cold water, bread, a useful area for drying clothes plus a washing machine (which I didn't use). From this terrace you can see the sea and amazing sunsets. There were also complimentary local biscuits available. Everywhere is walking distance. The bus station is barely 2 mins away. I would happily stay here again.

Everything. Cozy place with free coffee and snacks. Free washing machine. Great view on the sea. And the most important: a really warm welcome and the owner, William, really makes you feel like part of the family. We had an amazing stay here. William is the best host you can think of. Very professional and fast when it comes to booking tours or diving sessions. But also always in for a good talk, good time, party, he really becomes a friend since the 1st day. The rooms are very clean and the place really has an appropriate name « the nest », it is how you feel staying here. I highly recommend this place for every kind of stay.

New ZealandThis one of my best stays in Borneo. There was a slight musty smell when I first same in to the bedroom but I didn’t notice it after the first time.
Spacious room, clean and light. Air conditioned and well laid out. Big kitchen area where you could cook or socialise with other guests and the host. Very friendly helpful host. Facilities to do washing.

United StatesThe entrance is on a dark street that, at first, felt a bit sketchy as a solo female traveler. But the vibe completely changed to warm and pleasant once I was inside and upstairs in the Nest.
Very kind and helpful owner and staff. Amenities like coffee and noodles in the common room. The rooms were modern and clean and of decent size. It was perfect for my 1 night in Samporna.

SpainThe only downside was that the street could be a bit noisy at times — on some evenings there was karaoke nearby that was quite loud — and the street itself wasn’t the most charming. But from what we saw, this is quite typical of Semporna in general.
We had a great stay! The host was extremely kind and attentive — truly one of the most hospitable people we’ve met during our trip. He was always checking in to make sure everything was okay and ready to help with anything we needed. The room was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for a good rest.
