Damp smell of rooms, but it is the jungle and hard to manage...the location and facilities more than compensated. Great bathroom , super comfy beds and spacious rooms...felt exclusive

Liked the location and the small scale of the resort. Food choice were appropriate and overall good and the service from staff was lovely.

Gorgeous property with little chalets connected by walkways. It’s right next to the orangutan rescue center and sun bears. I woke up early and saw rhinoceros hornbills and an orangutan right in the hotel forest! Honestly was a more fun orangutan experience than the center! The chalets are comfortable and spacious and with excellent air conditioning. It is VERY hot in the afternoon but the mornings and evenings are lovely. And the restaurant was also delicious!

All was good except service in the restaurant which was slow and substandard compared to everything else.

Standard of accommodation was excellent for the area. An orangutan came into the resort during the late afternoon and cavorted through the trees and rooftops.

Staff need training. Missed or misunderstood orders, slow or sometimes not there, inconsistent. Breakfast “sets” were unusual and strict. Would have been better to do a small buffet so we could help ourselves which the did on one occasion.

Location, room and ambience were amazing. Clean and comfortable rooms. Air conditioning and bath/shower.

Quite expensive for the standard of the facilities, but in the middle of the jungle that is probably to be expected. Happy to pay for the excellent WiFi, but would have been good if it had covered us when in the room as well. We were given a twin room instead of a double.

Overall a good place to stay to do the river cruise - everything was well organised and facilities as expected for the middle of the jungle. Food was lovely and plenty of it. River cruises were great.

The accommodation was clean spacious and modern inside but culturally suitable on the exterior. You are right next to the Orangutan Sanctuary and some even came to visit us at the Lodge. It was a life changing experience. The grounds are beautiful and the noises are incredible. You really feel like you are staying in the jungle.

The location is just perfect. The grounds are so green with so much vegetation to look at all the time. It's lovely being in the sounds of the rainforest. We stayed for 1 night but easily could have done more. The staff are all so delightful and helpful. We really loved our stay! Also with people complaining about restaurant closing times, you can preorder food with the staff there completely happy with that!!

    Welcome To The Jungle!
    • Leisure trip

A small downside is the breakfast—you can only choose from fixed “sets,” which feels unnecessarily rigid.

As soon as you walk into Sepilok Nature Lodge, you get that instant “wow” feeling. A big wooden building by a pond houses the reception and restaurant, with lots of cozy seating areas. You are in nature! The only downside is that to the left, facing Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre (which is only a 5 mins walk away), you see an ugly brick building—probably built by someone else—which kind of ruins the view. Other than that, the grounds are beautifully designed, right on the edge of the real jungle, with paths leading to the cabins. And when you walk into one of those cabins, you get a second “wow” moment. They’re beautifully styled, with lots of wood and all the modern comforts: air conditioning, a mini fridge, a bathtub out front, a shower, a big bed—you name it. You really couldn’t wish for more. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is great too. Overall, this was the best place we stayed at in Borneo.
