Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdombreakfast - it took quite a while to refil the eggs Our villa was probably one of the older ones and is probably ready for a refresh.
The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. The location is beautiful and walking trails clearly marked out. Loved the monkeys and the sound of all the wonderful birds/animals. We had the most amazing boat trip (organised by the team at Permai) which included snorkling, mangroves, lunch, a visit to turtle island (where we saw newly hatched baby turtles and were educated on the conservation efforts for the turtles (really interesting). We were then lucky enough to see the salt water crocodile (Abu). We loved every minute!! The whole vibe of the place was just brilliant and we didn't want to leave.

IndiaRooms were just basic, this place needs renovation, wall paint was chipping away at some places, wooden stuff was giving in, sofa seater was giving extremely poor and sagging, we were vary of touching anything. Food for us a vegetarians was very limited and no additional cost effort from the resort to help. When in the restaurant it took more than an hour to serve our food.
Location was great

United Kingdomnothing.
We loved being in the rain forest, with proboscis, silver leaf and other monkeys up in the trees. The beach was fab; clean and lovely warm sea to swim or kayak in. Staff were all so friendly and hard working, a credit to the place. We had all our meals in the Feeding Tree cafe, overlooking the sea. Very nice food and drinks. We went on an excursion from the resort to see dolphins and baby turtles, this was amazing!

United KingdomAll the staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us, including carrying all our bags up to the tree house for us! We had to leave early at 5.45am for our flight and they did us a packed breakfast and a buggy ride to catch the shuttle. Staying in a treehouse was perfect for the location with lovely views of the beach and sunset through the Mangroves from our verandah.

GermanyAsian tourists left their trash behind at the beaches despite trash cans being available. This happened especially on Saturday Strong movements in the cabin lead to the windows rattling and sometimes opening
The spacious treehouse had a beautiful view of the ocean and beach as well as the surrounding forrest. We loved that we could hear and see the monkeys jumping around in the morning and evening! Very relaxing to lay in bed and hear the ocean. Beach No2 is stunning and calm, perfect for relaxing! Nice hikes available (the 5,5km trail takes around 2h) Buffet breakfast with egg station was very good, but sometimes took a bit long to refill. Restaurant "the feeding tree" serves good nasi lemak (big and tasty portion) for a reasonable price (much better quality-price-portion size ratio then the food court) Nespresso machine with capsules in the room! Grab advance booking worked well in the region (otherwise no grab available)

New ZealandThe food was bad. Unfortunately there’s no sugar coating it. The restaurant was empty and after eating our first dinner there we realised why. There’s not a lot of options around there as it is isolated, and to be fair the alternatives aren’t great either. Plus it’s a dry resort so there’s no wine to wash it down!
The location itself is beautiful. The beaches were both lovely and the water was insanely warm! It was very cool seeing all different types of monkeys in the trees surrounding the resort.

MalaysiaPerhaps can provide toothbrush and toothpaste, and maybe the washing towels can be a little bit yellowish, makes me worried.
The design of the accommodation is interesting, although what I was thinking is really living up on a tree, but the idea for living in the woods is also quite interesting. It does have a great view which waking up and see the beach which is stunning (if somehow the trees well trimmed according to the view at the balcony can be better and make it more marvellous)

AustraliaSome of the villa units old and run down and very basic. However the tree houses are much better. No alcohol available at the restaurant.
An extraordinary beautiful location surrounded by rainforest. Staff were very helpful and when we asked to be moved from a villa unit to a tree house they were happy to accommodate us. The rooms are clean.

SingaporeBe prepared that there'll be mosquitoes and insects since you're in the nature. And it can be quite hot in the afternoon/late afternoon even with the aircon on.
The location was good - next to the beach and the forest, offering good variety of activities to do if you like nature. There's also opportunity to see proboscis monkeys in the forest nearby. Sarawak Cultural Village is roughly 10min walk, highly recommended to pay a visit. The staff were very helpful too, making it an enjoyable stay. :)

United KingdomThe cabin needs some maintenance and a repaint inside. Bright lights inside. Would benefit from some additional dimmer lighting.
Being able to see probiscis monkeys with ease and the staff being helpful and pointing out some small things we would have missed such as a dead leaf mantis and stick insect.

New ZealandThat all the activities provided incurred an extra cost. I did feel this accommodation was relatively expensive (comparatively to others in Sarawak; and the most expensive place I stayed on our trip covering 3 countries), and although the activités weren’t overly expensive, it was annoying to have to fork out even more to have a kayak for an hour when we were guests at the resort.
Loved this place. Stayed 3 nights, could easily stay 2 weeks! Loved the treehouse accommodation in the tree canopy; the lack of crowds (just a few locals come out to the beach picnicking on the weekends); the main noises being that of the living forest around you; the native animals seen in their natural habitat…. There is a concrete monstrosity of a resort next door - I’d hands-down choose this a place like Permai over that, any day! Plenty of activities to keep one busy. Sarawak cultural village an easy walk away. Restaurant has limited menu but adequate. Generous breakfast provisions.
