There's no wifi in the rooms, and the wifi at reception was not so good.

Location is good, right in front of the lake, the place is absolutely beautiful. Staff was super nice.

The rooms need hooks to hang clothes up. The bathrooms, and in particular the shower heads need urgently replacing. Rusty, bent and hardly any water comes through. The path from the bar to the non-lake facing rooms needs more lighting.

The non-lake facing rooms were a bit decrepit. They need some hooks on the doors! There is nowhere to hang your clothes at all! A few nails in the back of the door would be better than nothing. Also, the shower head was rusty, bent and hardly gave me enough water to rinse my hair or wash my body. Just a trickle..Not good.

I liked everything. The staff, the bar, the cafe and food, the pool. The rooms could use an update though, but for $25 a night, it was fine. Just.

I asked them if I can get a offering letter for my visa but still now I don't receive any reply from them about it. If someone look for it or need prompt reply for any questions, I recommend to book other hotels where can assist you.

Epic Place. Room was clean and spacious with views of the lake. Great open space by the pool for loungers as well as meals. Catamaran trip in the evening was incredible. kayaking also fun and all easily available. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Fair prices. We will 100% be back!

Showering was difficult as there hardly was any water coming out, really only a few drops. Wifi was not working.

Location directly at the lake with a terrace with sunbeds and a small pool overlooking a great view. The lodge offers an evening buffet for its guests. The shared bathrooms and toilets are clean.

We ate well, drank well and slept well

Location is superb, right on the shore of Lake Malawi. Dinner had to be pre-ordered but consisted of a buffet of some delicious curries. Drink prices are very reasonable, our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff helpful and friendly. There are locals offering boat trips. If you are into birds, get one to take you out to see and feed the fish eagles. Preferably at sunset. Magic!

Very kind and attentive team in all service areas, beautiful setting right on the lake with pool and spacious lounge areas; very safe place, nice bar with good drinks and always cold beer!! :-) The less expensive accommodations in the backside accross the road also offer everything you need for a basic and comfortable stay including laundry service;

Although this is a budget property, it’s not dirt cheap and the budget rooms have seen better days. Very hot, stuffy, no ceiling fans and old standard fans that don’t reach the bed due to the location of the power point in the room made it hard to sleep. Thumbi View’s best days are behind it unless the owners spend a bit of money on the rooms. There are plenty of other (better) budget options on the same lakefront strip in my opinion.

The location and the view, sitting around the pool is delightful. The local Malawian staff and very kind and friendly.
