I had a nice relaxing stay. The private beach area was bigger than I expected, I spent a lot of time soaking up the sun. Great view from the veranda, which was a nice place to have breakfast. Bruce and Irina were great hosts, friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond on my first night as I arrived extra late from the Ilala. I had a laid-back relaxing couple of days. I'm glad I decided to spend 2 full days here. I definitely recommend Main Stream Villa and I'd definitely stay here again if I was in the area. I wish I had brought a flag with me to add to their collection!

I had no complaints

Staff were friendly, the food was good, and the building terrace was good to hang out on. Always good background music too.

The place is tired and needs some TLC. Whilst there is a sea view, the 'beach' area is disappointing. Shower didnt have hot water in the mornings, and the shower head didn't do its job!

The breakfast was so yummy and the location fitted our preference for a private beach. So noce

It is hard to say if something in this lodge was as expected based on pictures from booking.com... positive point for clean bed which was somehow comfortable and equipped with mosquito net. Bed room airconditioned. Maybe only manager hospitality and smile was above expectation... if hotel manager hospitality is the most important reason to stay for somebody it can be reason to stop here in future...

I have very mixed feelings about this hotel, for this price I would not book a room at construction site with view to lobby bar with other guests in the evening. Bathroom without hot water, dirty carpet and broken bath tube, generally it is not hotel for European tourist who expect basic but decent accommodation... there is potential in this location, but destroyed by strange set up and general poor management...

The owners are great, really welcoming and helpful. This makes up for the place's shortcomings. The service could be better though.

The food was really good! We recommend the butterfish or pizza! Also the staff was very attentive. :)

The furniture is old and some is broken and the bathrooms could be renewed. The room was ok but not very comfortable

Quite high price of food (probably because there is no alternative around). But Malawi is very cheap, so the prices were definitevely acceptable :)

The room had no tea/coffee facilities, no TV and particularly no fridge, no complementary water

Loved the room I slept in as it was located by the lake view waking up in the morning to the view of a beautiful lake.

Oh! Waking up in the morning jumping in the shower only to find out there was no hot water. Waited for minutes 😞 I ended up taking a cold shower with my little boy 🤧

A beautiful location and such welcoming, attentive staff. And the FOOD 😍 - honestly the best we ate in Malawi, get the butterfish if you’re there, you won’t regret it!

The place is beautiful, my worry is security, as there is no gate. The owner upon arrival of a Guest should provide enough information to the Guest, regarding availability of breakfast, wifi, etc
