Review for Sunshine View, Maafushi: We had a wonderful stay at Sunshine View Maafushi – total value for money! The room was clean, air-conditioned, with a comfortable bed, a spotless bathroom, and a thoughtful drying rack on the balcony – perfect after beach time or water activities. Breakfast was homely, freshly prepared, and served with warmth – a lovely start to our island mornings. A special shoutout to Shafeeq bhai and his lovely wife, who are truly fabulous hosts. Shafeeq personally arranged our transfers to and from the airport, picked us up and dropped us at the Maafushi pier, and took care of all our excursions and water activities with great care. He even recommended some really good vegetarian restaurants, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The location is excellent – just a 5-minute walk to Bikini Beach and 2 minutes to the public beach. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Maafushi. Simple, comfortable, super clean, and exceptional hospitality – you get more than what you pay for!

Maybe some more lights in the room would have been good And some hand soap in the bathroom. But none of these were deal breakers for us

Room was good and its like a home stay. Location is good. Hosts got us from the pier to room and dropped back at pier after checkout. They helped get a tour for half day.

Pricier for a room without breakfast, compared to other hotels in same region which also provides complimentary breakfast.

The guesthouse is run by a husband and wife, and communication with the owner was smooth and quick. The location is very convenient — just a 5-minute walk to the main jetty, beach, and many nearby shops and restaurants. The owner did provide us some tour options which was nice and the speed boat ride is shared which cost 15$ check the timings or coordinate with the owner as they will come to welcome you once you arrive which was lovely.

In terms of value for money, I wouldn’t say it met expectations given the amount we paid. Honestly, I'm not sure how the place has a 9.2 rating. That said, we only stayed for one night, so perhaps we didn’t get the full experience others mentioned in their reviews. The room and bathroom were clean, but the space felt quite small, especially with a double bed in it. The bathroom had an unusually tiny trash bin, which felt a bit impractical and they didn't change the glasses as someone had previously used it. Communication was mostly through WhatsApp as no one was physically around. In the morning, we weren’t asked what we’d like for breakfast — it was just served, and it wasn’t the continental breakfast that had been mentioned. The wife seemed kind, but due to the language barrier, she wasn’t very approachable. Overall, it was okay for one night, but I personally wouldn’t rate it as highly as some reviews do.

Mohamed and his family were extremely kind. The room was cozy and the Internet was fast. The activities offered were the same tours as the ones at the fancier hotels, just cheaper in price. I was a fan of the breakfast as well.

The only real con was that it wasn’t directly on the bikini beach, so you definitely need a cover up to get home.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sun Shine View in Maafushi! From the moment we arrived, Mohamed and his wife made us feel so warmly welcomed. They personally met us at the ferry, helped carry our bags, and ensured we settled in comfortably — such incredible hospitality! Throughout our stay, they were always attentive and kind, going above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. Mohamed and his wife not only organised all of our fantastic excursions but also personally dropped us off each morning at the ferry terminal and came with us to pick up our professional photos, making everything so easy and stress-free. Every morning, we were treated to an amazing complimentary breakfast, featuring delicious fresh fruits and juice, and yummy omlettes Thanks to their kindness, we also learned so much about island life and the local culture, which made our trip even more meaningful. They also shared all the best snorkal spots and recommended shops. The value for the price is unbeatable: the rooms are very clean and comfortable, with excellent air conditioning, reliable hot water, and thoughtful touches like free drinking water, towels, and snorkeling gear available for guests. We highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Maafushi and we will be back!

Owners take care about us very well during whole stay.

The owner of the property, Mr. Mohamed and his wife, are very hospitable hosts. They make sure their guests are comfortable in all ways. They helped us a lot in our activities and also do the booking for us. All that’s left for us to do is to enjoy our moments in Maafushi. Two thumbs up for Sunshine View Hotel.

All is excellent. The room that we booked is not too big, not too small either. Just nice and cozy for 2 adults. The room is clean, the toilet also. The host Mr Syafiq is very friendly n helpful ! Overall our stay here is very satisfied and we were very happy with the hospitality 😁 recommended this place 👍🏻

Really good guest house in Maafushi managed by extremely kind and professional hosts. Mr. Shafeeq helped us everything from booking round trip transfers from Male airport to Maafushi, picked us and dropped us at the port ensuring no additional stress for us, helped us book excursions. The guesthouse was close to the main tourist point of the island i.e. the bikini beach (around 5 mins walking) and other important shopping streets, ATM, supermarkets etc.

The hospitality by all the family members makes you feel very safe and comfortable. Mohammed helped us organise the few days we had in Maldives to maximise our available time with activities that fit our taste. Highly commendable.

We booked the Sun Shine View because of the outstanding feedback. And we were very happy with our decision. We had an awesome experience. The hosts were going above and beyond to ensure we as their guests are happy. Even though we knew the way to the port, we were accompanied by one of the hosts to ensure that we join the correct boat trip without asking the staff. We truly appreciated the effort and the hospitality. Thanks so much for being our hosts. We hope to see you again.
