Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceIf we could suggest one small improvement, it would be to consider renovating the water villas, as they are starting to feel a bit dated. Some of the furniture and interiors could use refreshing to match the overall high standard of the resort.
We just returned from an unforgettable 10-day stay at Villa Park Maldives, and we couldn't be more grateful for the incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless the warm welcome, the stunning surroundings, and the exceptional service made this trip truly special. A heartfelt thank you to Pratima, who went above and beyond throughout our stay. Her kindness, professionalism, and thoughtful attention made us feel truly cared for. We were especially delighted by the beautiful room upgrade, which made our time even more magical. Every detail was perfect from the crystal-clear waters and white-sand beaches to the delicious food and relaxing atmosphere. The snorkeling excursion was also great and we had the chance to see and swim with manta rays and turtles (we couldn't see the whale shrk unfortuntely). Villa Park is a slice of paradise, and thanks to the amazing team (especially Pratima), our journey was everything we hoped for and more. We’ll carry these memories with us forever and we can’t wait to come back!

SpainYou get what you paid for, the hotel is not luxury and the food was average, however, traveling with kids, if you would go again, traveling without kids, this hotel won't be my first choice.
The beach is amazing, big island and many beaches to choose from, even thought the island is big, its never crowded, the kids club is a big plus, you can leave your kid (age 4 and above) and have a couple of hours for yourself!

PolandOur stay at Sun Island Villa Resort was absolutely amazing! Everything was perfectly organized from the very beginning – the transfer was smooth, and just 4 hours after landing in Male, we were already transfered from International Airport, checked in and settled in our villa on Sun Island. We were delighted that our request for an upgrade to a Sunset Deluxe Villa was accommodated upon arrival. The villa (No. 495) was right by the water – spacious, just renovated nicely designed, and impeccably clean. Waking up to the breathtaking ocean view and having direct access to the water was truly unforgettable. The food included in the all-inclusive package was outstanding – a huge selection of dishes in the main restaurant, always fresh and well prepared. No matter your culinary preferences, there was something for everyone. An excellent à la carte restaurants (we were at thai and italian restaurants and both are highly recommend). A lot of additional activities was a fantastic bonus – from diving and water sports to excursions, gym and spa treatments, there was never a dull moment. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable and luxurious. Special thanks to: BODEY - our incredible waiter, who made our dining experience truly exceptional. He was always incredibly kind, ensuring we had the perfect table with a direct ocean view. It felt like he anticipated our needs before we even asked—always nearby whenever we needed anything. His attentive and warm service made every meal even more enjoyable. AFRIN - our wonderfull host who took care of every detail to ensure our stay was absolutely perfect and we are daily informed about all activities available. She was always available, incredibly helpful, and organized everything seamlessly, making our experience truly unforgettable. Her kindness and professionalism made us feel so welcomed.

United StatesAreas that could improve: Check-in Process: For a resort of this size, I was expecting a more thorough introduction during check-in. It would have been helpful to have a host sit down with us to explain the resort’s highlights and main amenities, rather than having to reach out for information later. We did eventually receive a PDF on our phones a few hours after checking in, but a more proactive approach would have been appreciated. All-Inclusive Package: The AI package caused a lot of confusion, especially when it came to understanding which restaurants were included, the times AI was available, and when additional charges applied. For example, the coffee at the coffee restaurant was chargeable before 10:30 AM and then included after 10:30 AM, or maybe the other way around, I'm still confused. It didn’t quite make sense. Additionally, some villa units had access to certain restaurants, while others did not. I believe the AI package could be streamlined for better clarity and consistency. Bike rentals should be included with AI packages. 50% off should be included in All-la-carte restaurants with the AI package. Being limited to the buffet restaurant or forking out $100+ meals for each person with an AI package is steep. In fairness, there was a one time complimentary al-a-cart restaurant included. Buffet Experience: The main buffet restaurant can get very crowded when getting food with nearly 1,000 people dining within a 2-hour window for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It felt chaotic at times, but once we had the food and were seated, it was more relaxed and very enjoyable. To improve this experience, I would recommend adding a second buffet-style restaurant, ideally on the other side of the island, to reduce congestion during peak meal times. Staff: Most of the staff were very friendly and welcoming; however, there were a few staff members who could benefit from further training to be a bit more engaging and proactive in their service (i.e.
We recently visited the Maldives a second time, and our first stay at Villa Park. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, but on arrival, we were initially disappointed with the view from our first villa, as the sea was partially obstructed by vegetation. However, we were grateful that you were able to accommodate our request to change rooms the following day. The new villa was perfect, and we truly enjoyed our stay there. The beaches were absolutely stunning, and the food was delicious. Most of your staff, particularly Suci and Joodh, and many others at the buffet restaurant were exceptional and made our stay more enjoyable. Wi-Fi was a bit hit or miss, but it generally worked when we needed it. The spa was stunning!

NetherlandsSome parts of the hotel are still quite old fashion, like the pool and the main restaurant. The island is huge, and the buggy is not that efficient. They work almost like bus lines. So, if you are far from the main restaurant, either you prepare your legs to walk or your patience to wait. The restaurant options at the main restaurant are not very international. Every day is more or less than the same. Food in general is very much average in this hotel complex. We one for th beach and sea life, so.... ok. The only nice snorkeling point at this island was at the house reef at the Italian restaurant. The rest of the island is sand (not bad in general, but not good for snorkeling)
The renovated villa with the swimming pool is amazing. It is huge and nicely furnished. The pool has a very decent size to be a private one, and the shower has comfortable pressure. They provide beach towels in the room, what is very welcome and filtered water is always available in the room and all hotel areas. There are also beach towels available at the Italian restaurant, which is the snorkeling point. During our 7 days stay, we had 6 days of reef mantas visiting the hotel reef at the corner of the Italian restaurant. That is just like magic! The house reef at the Italian restaurant corner is very alive. Swimming through the edge was a pleasant and relaxing experience.

Paradise on earth! ❤️ This is the perfect Island for me, not too small, not too big, beautifull nature, beautifully designed, the beaches are excellent. The beach villa is just WOW, I love it, its design, location, facilities and more, all are beyond what I hoped for. The service was excellent and the food was good with many choices. United KingdomFrustrated at the very poor quality of (all inclusive) wine in the restaurant - strange as the stuff in the room was fine. Also frustrated that you had to pay at the sunset bar. Snorkelling was good but not the easiest access
Fabulous location (Obviuosly - it is the Maldives). Lovely staff and very comfortable rooms. Hand fishing one evening and eating our catch was a highlight - as were the manta rays that came in the evening

United StatesI wish they listed the time the transportation leave the island so I know there are only 3 trips a day. I would not have booked late afternoon flight from Male if I know I have to leave the island at 8:30 AM and sit at the airport for 6 hrs. If there are fix schedule 5:30 AM, 8:30 AM and 3:30 pm or any known schedule it would help the customer book the flight instead of saying transportation will be arranged according to your flight. Shower curtain is terrible and won’t cover around the bath tub. There are more than a foot gap on each side. We asked from day one and they don’t have any solution. Everyday we shower the water leak out to the floor and make it slippery. Then the house keeper will come and give us extra floor mat. Quite frankly you can put one more shower curtain and it will fix it. The toilet system is old and doesn’t work well. Bicycle rental system needs improvement so the people who pay to rent don’t get it stolen all the time. The activities need to be more on time or let people know exactly what time the boat will leave without you. We were told to be there at the counter at 8 AM and 40 people apparently signed up but by 8 AM there were only 4 people there.
Location was good. Staffs are nice. Food at the 2 main restaurants for full board have lots of choices including fruits, salads, Indian dishes and western. Island is not super small. White sand beach is long and staff swept it daily to remove broken corals that came up from high tides. There are black tips reef sharks under board walk and of course during 18:30 feeding. Sting rays are plentiful especially during 18:30 feeding.
