Not anything to say here, as everything was great!

House reef was superb, visiblity going deeper in the water was dull but that was because of the plackton brought by wind and current and thats the reason the Manta rays were around, esp in Hanifaru bay and around, and we did see so many! It was so easy to get to the reef, but the coral free part was protected by the rocks which formed a barrier, so felt very safe for non swimmers/kids etc, and you could still plenty of fish inside. The breakfast, lunch and dinner was exceptional- highest quality and authentic for the type of cuisine and variety of international cuisine prepared- the best i have ever eaten! And so much variety! The desserts were out of this world!WE liked everything, so much to mention it all here! All the staff, and Ajwad Didi the manager, Ridia, Reddy , to name a few, and all the waiters, food managers, chefs , -too many to mention by name, were excellent. All the staff- at the jetty, on the boats, the adventure centre, the dive centre, the cleaners, all very very good! The resort exceeded my expectations, and one of the best snorkelling trips I have done. we had the golden sunset on the dolphin sunset trip- my best ever sunset.... To top it all -swimming with about 20 mantarays in hanifaru bay, the golden sunset, and seeing an eagle ray up close when snorkelling in the reef just outside our room- on this trip to the Royal Island resort.

We spent 8 nights at Royal Island Resort and overall it was a great experience. Highlights: • Excellent food, always tasty and with a wide variety. • Spacious and comfortable room. • The island is very well maintained, with beautifully cared gardens and plants. • Amazing wildlife experiences: I had the chance to see manta rays, and the reef around the atoll is full of fish, sharks, and turtles. • All the staff are extremely kind, always smiling and very helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Things to improve: • Transfers to and from the island are too long, almost two full travel days are lost. • Excursions are way too expensive compared to what is offered. Overall, it was a wonderful stay for those who love nature, snorkeling, and relaxation. A special thanks to Andhy, our island host, for his kindness and assistance throughout the stay.

We’ve had an amazing time. We originally booked 6 nights, then extended one more. Everything is top-notch, but most of all: the staff. Tolerant, supportive, helpful, and always smiling. The hotel assigns a host per stay, and we were lucky to get Mark. Mark went far and beyond to make sure our stay was good. And it was - just amazing.

The only uncomfortable thing for us was that the hotel required additional transfer that was not super quick both ways. This has nothing to do with the hotel / staff themselves, in fact they were very supportive, still if I have to mention what we didn’t like. It’s the transfer times.

Sand flies (hotel stuff twice a day provide desinsection, but it doesn’t work), they bits on the beach.

Very hospitable hotel staff, well-organized transfer, on the day of departure they provided a day room where we comfortably waited for our flight. Excellent and varied food in the restaurant, clean and comfortable rooms, good air condition.

On the other hand, we would like to point out a few less comfortable aspects of our stay. The departure transfer was not well organized. Upon arrival, we had a direct transfer from Malé to our island, but on the way back, for some reason, we had to fly with a stopover at another island. This meant additional stress with extra takeoffs and landings, as well as waiting on board while passengers disembarked and new ones came on. This felt unprofessional, especially since it had not been mentioned when we arranged the transfer with the hotel, and it most likely also affects the price. A more concerning issue was an excursion included in our package. We were sent out on a boat trip during a storm, which turned into a very dangerous experience. The boat was heavily shaken by waves, people were panicking, children were crying and vomiting, and we nearly capsized in the open ocean. We had a very small child with us, and there were other children on board as well. It was frightening and, in our opinion, highly irresponsible to send guests out without properly checking the weather forecast.

Overall, we were very satisfied with the island. The food was impeccable — delicious, varied, and of excellent quality. The staff were always cheerful and welcoming, which created a truly positive atmosphere. The island itself is stunning, with breathtaking sunsets and a magnificent ocean. We have been to the Maldives before, so we had something to compare with, and overall we left very pleased.

The house reef is brilliant and the staff are very friendly and helpful. But the food is amazing both choice and variety, the best we've had in the Maldives and this is the fourth island we've visited! A special mention about the very serene and peaceful Spa which we can highly recommend. The ladies were wonderful especially Radhika and Asha who made us feel really comfortable as well as our three young boys. They say the spa was the highlight of their stay! The barman from Bali was also wonderful! Also the pool was excellent and big enough for our boys to be able to play and not bother anyone else. Thank you Royal Island it was epic!

Mosquitos and the daily fogging but it was necessary to deal with the blood suckers.

The resort island had everything we needed. Hospitality was amazing. The sports centre was well-equipped and well-maintained. I love my pool villa. The buffet had an amazing spread, especially the dessert and pastry section - OMG I had dessert at every meal. I am not a fan of the main dishes, but I am a fussy eater. The live station is a must try.

Great value for money, amazing staff, really impressive house reef. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Only negative was the mosquito spraying they did twice a day. I understand this is likely a necessity and having heaps of mosquitos would have been worse. There's lots of lizards and other wildlife so it seems the spraying isn't hurting the wildlife too much, it just wasn't pleasant to be around when they did it.

What info I wish was available when I was looking at review; -Things to do, so many things. The house reef is really impressive for snorkelling. Saw a lot every day the water was suitable for swimming. Smalls sharks, turtles, lots of fish and an Octopus. -Also had tennis, indoor squash, 2 x table tennis tables, several Pool tables, reasonable Gym, kayaking, beach volleyball games organised every other day. -Included a dolphin trip (saw dozens of them) and a fishing trip, (most of the boat caught at least 1). -We had all inclusive, couldn't have been better. Didn't need to spend any money at all. Choice to go to the restaurant instead of the buffet, which we went to every other day and tried most things. Drinks were all good, the cocktail list and they were happy to alter drinks as we requested, even remembering our drink order. Lots of drinks in the Minibar (all included) including 350ml Vodka every day and 2 x bottles of wine (not that we drank it with the much better cocktails available at the bar and restaurant) -Room, we had the basic room, water view, cleaned well every day, nice outdoor shower and toilet. Bed was comfortable. It was a bit dated but it did the job and was pretty good. -Food, food was reasonable, they had theme nights every night. Japanese, Thai, Italian etc. Whilst all the food was pretty good, none of it was outstanding and I wouldn't go back for the food alone. They also had a high Tea in the PM which was nice for a drink and small snacks at the restaurant which had a much better vibe than the normal Bar. -Staff were all very, very friendly. Always said hi, remembered drinks. On the last day in the morning one of the managers came to chat and asked us our favourite meals for the stay, then at dinner they organised a plate of these even though it wasn't being served that evening. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel again, the value for money with the all inclusive was really impressive.

Long transfer! We missed domestic flight because the Emirates from Dubai, the hub for travellers to Maldives , was late for 40 min.. Though transfer time was 2 hours, we missed checkin because Maldivians airlines have closed checkin in 1 hour before the departure, not waiting for the tourists. Domestic airport is a garage for 1 small airplane, with the stone-throw distance from checkin desk to the plane, what is the reason to close checkin in 1 hour! The flight itself takes only 20 min! We were transfered by boat for 1 night to other resort, then next morning back, followed by domestic flight and boat to Royal The way back took the whole day due to long gaps between transfer steps. Though domestic flight is more comfortable, the private hotel hydro-plane is adjusted to passengers, not to checkin rules. In the Royal hotel we were disturbed by loud music from the bar till midnight and ennoyed with signining of the zero bills for every beverage (we were on all inclusive).

We liked sniorkeling on the house reef. The food was tasty, and variable. We were upgraded to the better room after complaints on the loud misic, appreciated this gesture by management, however being disturbed by the noise on the resort designed for relaxation doesn't add positive impression.

Some activities in the resort were extremely expensive. Mosquitoes are not nice at all 😊 but the staff are doing their best to spraying everywhere and of course it's the nature so we understand. One of the worst things we faced is that we didn't know that it's the rainy season and we didn't check the weather for this period when we booked...and this is our mistake to be honest so almost like 90% of our stay was cloudy and raining. Also this is the nature of this part of the world... So no complains from the resort neither the people. I strongly repeat that our stay was more than perfect. Seafood offered in the restaurants was not tasty for me... But my wife liked it. Expected to find a photographer at the resort to make a photo session for my honey moon but unfortunately didn't find any.

1.Island location Fabulous 2.Room location excellent 3.Cleanliness of rooms and the resort overall was Excellent. 4.People's hospitality is incredible...from the room service, the people working in the restaurant up to the receptionists...they are all doing great job. 5.Very comfortable stay. 6.food quantity, variety and quality was very good. 7.The sandy beach and the clear water was amazing, the balcony view, the sea creatures are a lot and you find a lot of varieties. 8.trees, swings, coconut trees, greenery everywhere... Very peaceful with the clear sea water. We really enjoyed our stay a lot and we were very sad to leave. Strongly recommend it to our friends and family. And if we will have the opportunity we will repeat it again for sure. Worth the money.

The place only have full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner with coffee or tea only) or inclusive (which includes all meals, juice and alcoholic drinks) They should add regular juice to full board to be more muslim friendly. I don’t want to pay 190 per night to add all inclusive for juice only. And if want any kind of juice like orange, mango or any canned juice will cost money. And you can’t bring any juice from outside. Also, activities are really expensive an example jet ski for 15 min cost 120 USD.

The place is clean, plenty of food, nice view and friendly crew. The beach is really clean and the sea is clear. I stayed in a private pool vila, the vila and the pool are clean. I enjoyed the private pool and the sea view a lot. I would like to revisit this place again but if they have more packages that are muslim friendly.

To be honest, nothing. In terms of value for money, this place can’t be beaten and it is the first Maldivian island my wife and I have said we’d happily return to. It’s not 3 star Michelin food and the luxury levels aren’t off the charts but it’s clean, very comfortable and welcoming.

I was a bit concerned when I read reviews about the place being a bit dated but all of that was completely forgotten by the time the really polite staff had influenced my opinion. The whole resort has a feeling of calm and relaxation. The best thing though, there are no water villas therefore fewer piles driven into the coral which, in turn, leads to a much better house reef. I go to the Maldives to enjoy the outstanding beaches and sea and, of all the islands I’ve visited, this is the best for those requirements. The dive centre is very good too.
