How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe were a bit skeptical about all the positive reviews, but Nirili Villa and the team won us over from the start. It's a guesthouse with excellent value for money. The rooms were large with modern showers, plenty of drying facilities, free fresh water every day, and air conditioning. There were even suitable power plugs and regularly replaced towels (including for the beach). You are taken to/picked up from the harbor. Breakfast was small but sufficient. Free coffee/cappuccino is available all day. We were invited to dinner on the first evening, and there was also a free Maldivian dinner on Thursday evening. Overall, the dinner was good and very reasonably priced. The excursions offered are also very reasonably priced. We booked snorkeling with turtles and seeing dolphins. Both were great experiences. The team, especially Amir, are friendly and open and happy to help. Dhiffushi is a beautiful local island. The bikini beach in the north of the island is particularly recommended. At the other bikini beach, you can spot stingrays every evening. The island is a quick 45-minute speedboat ride from Malé. We would come back!
We were happy with everything.

Verified reviewWe truly loved it all. Especially people, the whole team at Nirili Villa made our stay unforgetable. Thank you very much again Luuba, Amir, and all others. We felt welcome and cared about with love. There were 5 of us, 71 year old mum, my sister, me and two my boys, teenagers. We all did the whole package of trips and it was great, amazing, wonderfull, breathtaking.. - all the colors, creatures :). The crew is amazing, thank you so much guys once more. Eventhough it was off-season, the wheather was perfect, during our 11 days stay it rained only once. The rooms are very clean and maintained every day, towels and bed linen is changed on request. There is hot water and AC. We did not have any major problem with mosquitoes either in the rooms or on the island. Just a very few bites during the whole stay. I mention it because we were warned before that it can really be a big problem. Drinking water is provided for free and also very good coffee at bar/reception all day long. And there is excelent food :) for very good prices, nothing to compare to other places on the island. The prices of all the services in this hotel were exceptional. Wonderfull bikini beach is just few meters away. You can rent an umbrella for 10 usd/eur per day and sunbed for the same price. There is very nice bakery and icecream on the insland and also some groceries. I have to say that we felt very safe on the whole island. Non negative experience just the opposite. We could pay everywhere in local currency, USD or EUR in cash or by CC. It is better to bring cash, because every CC payment is charged with 3,5% fee. Really we only met with the intension of do the best for clients so they can enjoy their stay to the most. You could see on each of the stuff that they were honestly happy to see that the clients are happy. I can not recommend this place more, they won our hearts, can not thank you enough. God bless you all, best greetings from Slovakia

Verified reviewIncredible value that this place offers. Hands down the best in the Maldives. The staff is very nice and helpful, very reasonable prices in the restaurant, good breakfast included (they even have nutella), free water refills and a smart TV in the room!
The big downside was some water damage/mold in the room... Also, for additional information: the island has changed a lot and more and more hotels are being built. Nirili is also expanding.
thank you 😊 🙏 💓 ☺️ 💗 💛....we will fix the problem in the rooms....

Verified reviewI had a wonderful stay at Nirili Villa! The staff were all incredibly lovely and I’d especially like to mention Luber she was exceptionally helpful, kind, and sweet throughout my visit. Her warm hospitality truly made a difference. The Wi-Fi connection was superb; I didn’t experience any issues at all, which made my stay even more comfortable. The food was also good, with a nice variety and satisfying taste. Overall a great experience I’d definitely recommend Nirili Villa to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay.

Verified reviewARRIVAL. Staying at Nirili Vila was a wonder experience. We were greeted at the harbour and taken by an electric buggy to the hotel. The host has met us at the hotel with a free drink and dinner. LOCATION. The hotel is very well situated, almost on the beach - only 100 meters (1 min) to the bikini beach to the right of the hotel or 100 meters to the local beach to the left of the hotel. While snorkeling in both beaches we have seen many different reef fishes, baby sharks, mantas ant other underwater fauna. Several local groceries are nearby. RESTAURANT. The food in the restaurant was delicious. Given we are travelling with two small kids, I was afraid how they will tolerate local food. My concern was unnecessary as no one in the family have had any problems with stomach during the stay. Maldivian dinner on Thursday was an additional bonus to our stay. We as parents really appreciated available board games, table tennis and darts in the restaurant area to keep kids busy while waiting for the food to be prepared. ROOM. The infrastructure of the hotel is very thoughtful - 1) convenient shower in the yard to wash sea salt and sand from clothing and body 2) good isolation of the room. I couldn't hear any noise from neighbors 3) A/C in the room 4) black out curtains 5) convenient shower area in the room with Aloe vera shampoo and body wash 6) daily cleaning of the apartment 7) free drinking water served each day 8) outside hangers to dry swimming attire 9) free laundry services 10) tea and coffee packs with kettle in the room. EXCURSIONS. We have purchased a full pack of excursions from Nirili Vila - snorkeling with sharks, stingrays, turtles, Coral Garden, watching dolphins, Sandbank trip. After the night fishing trip we have been served with a grilled fish we've caught for a dinner. Every trip was unforgettable experience for us, organized professionally and with love. EXTRA SERVICES.

Verified reviewNirili Villa went beyond expectations, providing free drinking water, free coffee/cappuccino (whenever you like), and a very good buffet breakfast. Furthermore you have a welcome dinner and a typical maldivian dinner free (on thursday), which make, considering the price we paid, probably the best accommodation in the island in terms of ratio price/quality
The excursions to coral garden was too short (just 1-1.5 hours for snorkeling), and even the price was the best in the island, it was too much for our standards

Verified reviewEverything in this place was perfect. The room was very clean and spacious, but the best part of our stay was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. It was really surprising. We missed one night because our flight was delayed and because of that we got free lunch and dinner on the second day of our stay. We were also invited for dinner on the first day. The food there was delicious. The staff helped us get to public ferry too, despite the fact that it was very very early. If we had had more time, we would have stayed there longer. For sure, if one day we are back to Maldives, we will visit this place again.

Verified reviewEverything was great! The staff member at the briefing during check-in was extremely outgoing and friendly, offering pleasant bonuses, which was a delightful surprise. The room was spacious and clean, and the shower was convenient. Breakfast featured both local dishes and classic European options. We enjoyed the local dishes we tried, especially Tuna Kottu. You can also enjoy a delicious and reasonably priced lunch and dinner here. The location is perfect—right near the two best northern bikini beaches on the island. In comparison, the southern beaches are not as clean or comfortable as the northern ones. Add a photo with the beach veiw!
Nothing special to mention! This is not our first time visiting the Maldives, but it’s our first time on Dhiffushi. So far, this island is our favorite among the seven local islands we’ve visited. Of course, we’re not comparing it to resorts, but sometimes local islands can be even more interesting than secluded resorts. We usually took speedboats, but this time, since we had extra time before our flight, we decided to try the public ferry—and it turned out to be a great experience. The trip to Malé took 2.5 hours, but it was quite comfortable and not tiring. If you're looking to save on transfer costs, this budget-friendly option is just $1.50 (22 MVR).
