How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI loved how the staff was always ready to help you. Let them book the stuff for you, it’s better than arranging it yourself, also very stress free. The accommodation is very romantic and breakfast is served on the beach. I want to thank Bilal and Nur for everything, making sure we have all we need and even making breakfast to go early in the morning. The snorkeling tour to turtle reef is so amazing. You can check the waves out of your room! Internet very fast too!

Salty water in the shower, but I guess it’s the island thing, not the hotel. Besides they provide you with bottled water throughout the stay.

Verified reviewThe rooms are literally on the beach and well appointed for the location. Nur and the team were always very helpful and communications were great. We had flight delays and Nur helped us with all details, including speedboat transfer. Nur also helped on short notice organise us a shark tour - well worth the experience! It was great to be on a non-resort island and just wander about trying out the other eateries and watching life go by. Sumura has the best location on the island, absolute prime! Wish we had enough time to stay there for 2 more weeks!

I am particularly touched by the hotel's humanization. My booked room allowed me to check out late when no one else booked it, shortening my trouble of waiting for a long time for the flight. Verified reviewThe breakfast is rich. If it's not enough, you can ask for more. Coffee is free all day. From five o'clock in the afternoon, there are free toasted bread and drinks. In my opinion, the geographical location here is the best on the whole island. I really enjoy every day here.

Verified reviewThe staff is very friendly and attentive. It is located in a beautiful place with direct access to the beach and everything is nicely decorated, ideal for relaxing. It is close to some restaurants and places to do activities. The suite has amazing views and is very spacious.
Considering the price of the room, there were details a bit neglected: the shower had lime scale embedded in it and the faucet was very small, the toilet is totally open with no insulation for odors and the ceiling had dismantled parts. The hotel food is not really good.

The room was clean, and staff's hospitality was out of this world. The manager, Nur, and his staff, especially Bilal, were very friendly and took really great care of us in the whole trip. Verified reviewThe location was amazing and looked to be one of the nicer accommodation on that island. We loved staying on the beach and 2 members of staff who worked in the kitchens and as waiters were excellent and so nice. The room was not the one we booked, as such it was small but it was comfortable and clean with great AirCon. However the manager was dishonest and his behaviour was very unprofessional. For this reason we gave this accommodation such a low rating. It is disappointing how one person can taint a business.
Unfortunately there were 3 instances we didn't like: 1. The worst was our transfer to the boat on our last day. The driver was due to collect us at 4.45pm for the 5pm boat. This was organised by the manager of the accommodation. The driver forgot and the staff were unable to help us and just said ring the manager. Thankfully he did come to help and he rang the boat company and asked them to delay the boat departure to give the driver time to arrive and collect us. However, the manager never apologized, and was totally unprofessional. Our international flight was at 7pm so we arrived at the airport 1 hour before our flight. While waiting for the driver, the manager got cross with us for not giving ourselves enough time to get to the airport but it was him who advised us upon check-in to get the 5pm boat which would give us 1 hour and 35 minutes in the airport (had we left on time) and it was him who booked the boat and transfers knowing our flight details. Upon check-in he assured us the 5pm boat was sufficient as the airport is small. He knew the mistake was on his side so he cancelled our booking.com reservation so that we couldn't write a review. We messaged him to ask why he cancelled our booking, he lied and said he didn't, we sent him a screenshot saying 'the accommodation has cancelled your booking because you didn't show up' and he didn't respond to that screenshot. We had to contact booking.com to say we had stayed and we asked them to reopen our booking so we could provide a review. This was disgraceful, dishonest behaviour. 2. Upon arrival we check-in and the room looked different to our booking.com photos. We had booked a 'King room with sea view' and we asked the manager who checked us in if we were in the correct room. He said his reservation said 'King garden room'. We could not find this room option on booking.com or their own website so we questioned it and he said just email booking.

You don’t want to wait in airport long time and choose 17:00 boat transfer. And the pickup is delay few minutes is true but you not miss the boat and even not miss the flight . So this part are not fault from the manager . And second part your reservation is garden king room but you said you booked different room (king room ) I show you directly booking.com your reservation. We not change your room or reservation. Even we try to give you king room but after check the king room you decide to stay garden king room . And you ask to manager pay less money (discount) if you stay in garden king room instead of king room . we think this is the reason you are write this type of review . Verified reviewAn enchanted place, on the most beautiful stretch of beach of the island. The door of your room literally opens on the beach, you fall asleep at the sound of the waves, wake up and have breakfast (and all meals if you like) on the white sand, contemplating the ocean. From our room, we have seen dolphins jumping in the ocean, just in front of the guesthouse! We absolutely loved our days here. All the staff is extremely helpful and professional; the manager Nur is amazing, cared for us in all details, and went out of his way to make this the vacation we had been dreaming of. In fact, it far exceeded all our expectations! The location is fantastic, the guesthouse is set directly on the beach, in the shadow of the coconut trees. Everything is serene and relaxing, the common areas are cared in all details to make for a magic environment: hammocks, swings, mattress sunbeds and little charming touches and special corners everywhere. The rooms are beautifully decorated, with wood furniture, an incredibly romantic canopy bed, and super comfy mattress. Breakfast is served on the beach, and delicious, with fruits, home made cake and omelette.... Coffee and soft drinks are freely available all day long, and around 5pm, homemade pizza is served to all guests.
