    Rooms were clean.

Owner forget to pick us in marina and also deploy us last day. On other places around Maldives they do that. On other hand workers start with loudnes as builiding slot at 8am and finish at 6pm. Since was rainy at time of visit, we try to spend some time in room but was not enjoying. Owner forget to write on booking.com in advance to have working slot in builiding.

The fact that I got out of this terrible place

My experience at Chao Guest House ruined my trip. The owner was extremely rude and didn’t understand English. When I needed a bit of time to sort out my payment due to currency exchange issues, he started shouting at me and almost pushed me out of the room, repeatedly saying, "No pay, no stay." Despite offering to pay digitally through my wallet, he refused to listen and resorted to insults, calling me a "bastard" and making derogatory remarks about Bengalis. The situation escalated to the point where I had to go to the police station to get money just to pay him and avoid further conflict. Additionally, the location is far from the main beach, making it inconvenient. Overall, it was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Small bugs & bites. They claim to take credit cards but upon arrival wanted cash and was very rude. After 20 minutes I began looking on booking.com for a new place. Suddenly he has 2 credit card machines and takes my payment.

    The staaff is good

It's cheap, but by paying a little more you can be much better off. The place is dirty and old... and there isn't much variety in the breakfast.

I am staying at the guest house for the second time. We were there for 9 days and as always we liked everything. The owners are very friendly and always willing to help. There is one downside, the 3rd floor is being built. So 3 days out of 9 we woke up from early work, which was not very pleasant. We already thought that our vacation would be ruined, but then there was silence and everything was great!!!!! The only request and recommendation is to attach a railing that you can hold on to when you go up to the second floor. It is really lacking there. You want to hold on to something. If I decide to come to the Maldives, then of course I will come to you!!!!

The cheapest one on the island. Rooms are nice and comfortable, AC is working really well and working all the time. Bathroom is great.

It was still under construction and noisy at nitght as workers operate at night + located next to a jail and a mosque with call to prayers at 4 am, not super clean or tidy but it’s okay given the low fares. Our biggest issue was that we had booked a super expensive all inclusive resort right after. The resort told us they would arrange transfer with Chao in case our seaplane timing would be changed. It was indeed changed, Cora Cora called Chao to inform them but they did not tell us anything at all 😡 We went back to Male at planned time but the seaplane had already left. We had to stay the whole afternoon in Male and lost all the benefits of a half day in all inclusive luxury resort. Staff could have knocked on our door, there are less than 15 rooms. Or sent a message as we had already talked on WhatsApp…. we lost money value and time 🙃That’s a shame because otherwise we had a nice time.

It is not a 5 star hotel. But it is very decent concidering its cost. So if you are looking for cheap place - Chao Guest House is ok. You will get all the basic needs satisfied plus a transfer to hotel

The host Ahmed is a good person. Always when I wrote him he answer. They’ve met the guest in airport in time, as he promised. Also delivered to airport. The room was with all facilities, but small. But for the one person and for 4 nights it was ok. You can get beach in 15-20 minutes by walking. In Maafushii you can find many restaurants and cafes for a good price for dinners, also from Maafushii you can go to resorts (it is paradise also).

It was under construction, very noisy, there were insects in the rooms, and the bedspreads were not clean. The breakfast didn't have much variety, but the staff was nice.

If you like to walk in your holidays it's a good place far from all the action and close to Maafushi prison.

The owner is friendly and helpful. WiFi in the entire complex has a speed of up to 5/2 Mb/s. Affordable price. Poor communication of the staff in English, but the owner speaks Italian

Modest accommodation on a construction site, banging on your head from morning to night. Ants in the room, no regular cleaning of the rooms, you have to ask for toilet paper. The location is next to the minaret, the windows and doors are not sealed at all, you can hear everything, even what the neighbors are talking about.

The kindness and friendliness of the owners is incomparable. They are always attentive to your needs to make your stay the best. The facilities are comfortable and sufficient to spend a days on the island. I would always return and I recommend it.
