How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI loved staying here, the room was large, with wardrobe, desk, tv (though I didn’t turn it on), great air con & wifi, comfortable bed, hot water, beautiful garden to relax in with hammocks & of course tables & chairs. The owner & his wife were great, really lovely people that want to do things right for the guests. You can book excursions, use the fridge, breakfast was good enough (I love breakfast), and really excellent value for money. Very near the fast boat drop off and near everything (shops, restaurants etc). This is the perfect island for diving, snorkelling or relaxing on the beautiful bikini beach, and I have stayed longer than I had planned.

Verified reviewThis was a great stay for couple nights on Guraidhoo! Location was close to shops and harbour which was handy. Lots of common area to chill with breezy balcony to watch the sunset from. Staff were super helpful. I am allergic to gluten and I brought a bag of gluten free pasta with me which they cooked into a spaghetti bolognaise for me with no hassle! When island ATM was out of order they also helped me to pay the surfing guide also which relieved some stress. Staff always happy to greet me and help. I liked the small vibe of the accomodation it felt very peaceful and private. Only downside is it’s a little bit of a walk to the bikini beach.

Verified reviewI had an absolutely wonderful stay at this guesthouse—it truly felt like a home away from home. Everything was just perfect! The half‑board package included breakfast and dinner, both of which were fantastic—fresh, tasty, and full of variety. We also booked our excursions through Adroit. Every trip was well organized, smooth, and really enjoyable. Special shoutout to Ashra—he's super friendly, helpful, and made our experience even more memorable. The room was comfortable, spotless, and had a fresh feel to it. The staff cleaned nearly every day and regularly changed the bed linens. All in all, I was thrilled with everything—from the meals and the excursions to the service and atmosphere. Highly recommended

I wanted one egg extra for breakfast, they charged me 1 dollar Breakfast time is from 7:30 to 8:30 only and its a shame for what i got for breakfast and they charged 8 dollars for it. Not friendly at all, not helping at all
If you want extra items other than our menu of breakfast there will be extra charges for that. Our staff was very friendly but you and your friend treat all staff very rude. Maybe because they follow our guesthouse policy and what ever you asked they couldn’t provide as free. There is limit that the staff even can do. We sure if you could treat nicely and respectfully our staff will do much more what you asked. We don’t charge for breakfast. Breakfast is free for all guest who stays. Because we sell room with breakfast. It’s very much a lie. If we charge breakfast the price will be 10$. Only if you want have breakfast at after 9:00am. Because our breakfast time is 7:30 to 8:30. But we always stay till 9:00am We don’t know why you have extended if our service and our policy is not good for you. But you extend and stayed. But second time when you asked to extend we don’t want to because of your bad attitude.

One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist with any request. Verified reviewThe owner ashraa is very nice. He has made the place very pretty. The staff is also very nice and helpful. I recommend this place. We stayed two nights and for second night we directly booked so we got 10% discount. We had to leave early at 7am so the owner gave us early breakfast too. I am very happy.
