Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThe food in the evening could be hotter, unfortunately the meat/fish was sometimes only kept semi-warm. Since my husband and I like to drink good coffee, it would also be great to get a good Barista espresso at the breakfast. The wine prices are very expensive compared to the other drinks. The lady at the boat rental is unfortunately not very friendly and they are not really flexible… always book in advance! Unfortunately, our room was a bit noisy, so you could hear the neighbors talking through the walls.
Very nice and clean hotel complex. There were always enough sun beds, whether in the shade or in the sun Cars were parked in a parking lot and kept safe. Rooms are very spacious The spa and the massage with Rika were a dream There are lots of activities on offer, especially sports!

United KingdomI really can't think of anything negative (only, first world problem, they ran out of overnight oats one morning at breakfast! - they were very popular)
We had the most incredible experience at Maradiva Villas—truly a slice of paradise that exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived (and discovered we had been selected for an upgrade), we were treated with such warmth, care, and attention to detail that it felt like coming home, only better. The private villa with a pool was pure bliss—secluded, beautifully designed, and surrounded by lush greenery. Waking up to the sound of birds and stepping straight into our own pool each morning was magical. Every corner of the villa radiated calm and comfort, with thoughtful touches that made our stay effortless and luxurious. The service was impeccable—every staff member went above and beyond with genuine smiles and a sincere desire to make our stay perfect. Whether it was the exceptional housekeeping, or the friendly faces at the beach and restaurant, we felt incredibly well taken care of. We ate breakfast and dinner at the Sands Suites (Sense Restaurant) and lunch at each day at La Fontana. Speaking of food—wow. Every meal was a celebration of flavour and freshness. As a family we regularly enjoy eating fish and so the fish evening and the mediterranean evening were our favourites. We especially loved the beachside dining experiences (Sense), where we enjoyed gourmet dishes over the ocean. The breakfast spread alone was reason to wake up early! We also indulged in the spa, which was heavenly. The treatments left us feeling renewed, and the setting—tucked into a peaceful tropical garden—was serene and grounding. We were lucky to play tennis every evening before dinner and as there were only the 3 of us Bryan the fitness coach was free to join us for a doubles match. Maradiva is more than just a resort; it’s a sanctuary. A place where time slows down, nature embraces you, and every moment feels special. We left feeling deeply relaxed, happy, and already planning our return. Thank you, Maradiva, for a stay we will never forget.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaIt’s hard to put into words the magic we experienced at Sands Resort. My wife and I chose this place for our intimate wedding and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect setting. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles, warmth, and a level of care that can’t be taught – it comes from genuine dedication. Every detail, from the beautifully decorated room, to the perfectly manicured garden overlooking the ocean, and the flawless organization of our special day, was handled with love and elegance. The beach is simply stunning, white sand, the scent of the ocean, and sunsets that look like something out of a movie. The food is outstanding, diverse, authentic, and each bite tells a story of its own. Our stay at Sands wasn’t just a vacation, it was the beginning of our married life in the most beautiful setting imaginable. If you're looking for a place where you'll truly feel special, where every moment is filled with peace, beauty, and thoughtful service.. look no further. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the entire Sands Resort team. This wasn’t just a stay, it was an experience we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. We’ll definitely be back. maybe to celebrate an anniversary. Suncica and Mario :)

United StatesNothing. Our Stay could not have been better.
We felt that Sands Suites Resort and Spa was the perfect location for us and the best on Flic en Flac Beach! We were there for our 20th anniversary and the staff made everything so special for us, from decorating our room on our actual anniversary, to when we arrived at the restaurant for dinner that night, they had a special table set up with candles and flowers, and not only that, but they surprised us and the chef made us an anniversary cake. This place was incredible and the service is the best I’ve ever experienced anywhere in the world. The restaurant does such a great job of accommodating every dietary requirement. For breakfast, they have fresh fruits, yogurts, breads, freshly made Belgian waffles, crêpes… You name it they have it. For dinner they have a rotating menu to keep things exciting. They always have multiple vegetarian options as well as several different kinds of vegetables, fruits, meats. It really is incredible. One of the other things that we thought was so amazing was that we had to check out at noon and our flight wasn’t until 11 PM that night. The hotel stored our luggage and let us hang out at the resort all day and they even have a changing/shower room so you can get ready before your flight. It was almost as if we had not checked out at all. We also had arrived at nine in the morning when check-in wasn’t until three in the afternoon and our room was ready for us when we got there and they brought us a plate of freshly baked pastries, as well as lattes and cappuccinos. I am still blown away at the service from this hotel. I looked at every hotel on Flic en Flac beach and I can honestly say Sands Suites is the absolute best. The property is immaculate, the water pressure in the rooms was amazing, the beds were super comfy and the AC was nice and cold. The pool area is stunning and they’ve got about 30 loungers plus several more loungers down on the beach if you don’t wanna sit around the pool. The views from this hotel are also amazing.

South AfricaWe can’t fault Sands Suites on anything! The only thing I didn’t like, is that we didn’t book more days!
From the moment we arrived until we left, the friendly and efficient team carried us on their hands. The suites are even nicer and bigger than they appear on photos. We had 2 separate verandas, a large open-plan lounge-dining room, 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom with high quality amenities and a walk-in closet. The sea view, infinity pool and gardens are immaculate. The food was exceptional! I celebrated my 60th birthday there and it was an Asian buffet for dinner. Amazing sushi, Asian dishes, Peking Duck rolls to die for… and my special birthday cake was wonderful! Lovely live music each night and very elegant overall atmosphere.

United StatesNote, for the higher floors there’s no elevator, and the times for the water sports change day by day so try and plan in advance if you’re only there for one day.
Beautiful location at the tip of flic en flac, with a great view of the mountains and ocean. Multiple water sports included so we spent our day windsurfing, paddle boarding, waterskiing etc. a great place for families who can find a ton of stuff to do regardless of their interest.

United KingdomNothing, we loved it all!
The staff were exceptional and so welcoming, as other reviewers have said it is the staff that make the hotel memorable. They go above and beyond to ensure each guest is happy. The sea view is also absolutely stunning and we definitely recommend having both breakfast and dinner there. We also loved how the hotel felt cosy and it was easy to get around. Some people have said that the rooms are a bit dated- this may be the case compared with other luxury hotels however the sand suites rooms are clean and well maintained, and I would say that the design fits the island vibe nicely.
