Paradise location with room for improvement to match price paid

We were on half-board (breakfast-dinner) the food at the buffet was tasteless and the way it is organized is not appealing. The coffee (cappuccino) is from an automatic machine and does not taste good. The restaurant room where the buffet is, is old and dark which does not give you the pampering experience. We found out that the Zest (one of the à la carte restaurant) is serving breakfast too and we got a way better experience in term of service even if food should be improved. We were very disappointed of the food at buffet (breakfast and dinner) and it did not match the level of 5 stars and the luxury feeling the hotel claim to be at or the price we paid per night. We stayed at the Lux* on the island and definitely the food there is at another level. The hotel is family friendly, there were a lot of families with kids, however, it felt that the hotel was more welcoming families than people without kids. There were no dedicated area for adults. It would be good to have a dedicated place for adult for breakfast for example or for beach access. One day we were relaxing on the beach by our room, we were the only one there. The kids club brought the kids (20+) on the space next to us to build sand castle, they could have gone anywhere else, basically the beach was empty but they stayed next to us, forcing us to move on the other side to enjoy our relaxing time. I found it very disappointing especially for the standing the hotel and for the price paid.

The location is magnificent, right on the Morne with beautiful views. It makes is very special and give a sense of paradise. The place was very clean, the room was spotless and the hotel as well as its facilities are well maintained. The staff is constantly cleaning the garden, the beach. We stayed at the Paradis Beachfront room, direct access to the ocean, beautiful views (2nd floor) but the room lacked of design, the furniture were basic and the lighting bright like in an hospital - it was a bit impersonal. There is two restaurants à la carte on site, beautifully designed, very good food and selection of wine. The service was impeccable.

Paradise Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa: A paradise where the guest is king

In summary, although both hotels belong to the same Beachcomber family, Paradise Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa offers an incomparably higher experience of luxury and satisfaction. It's a place where attention to detail, personalized attention to guests, unparalleled service, impeccable tablecloths and easy-to-clean, smooth floors, and above all, a peaceful and private beach, offering a sense of escape from the hustle and bustle, make your stay unforgettable, leaving you feeling truly valued. It's worth noting that Paradise Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa is located at the foot of the famous Le Morne Mountain, a unique landscape feature that enhances its exclusivity in Mauritius. Another hotel from the same chain is also located nearby, further enhancing the attractiveness of this location. Furthermore, the region is renowned for some of the most beautiful golf courses in Mauritius, further enhancing the hotel's appeal and its offerings for golf enthusiasts. Its picturesque and exclusive setting, far from the hustle and bustle, combined with top-notch service and attentive care, makes Paradise Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa a true paradise. My advice to anyone planning a trip to Mauritius is to choose Paradise Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa for their entire stay.

MAURITIUS: TWO BEACHCOMBER HOTELS – LUXURY VERSUS DISAPPOINTMENT. MY PERSONAL ASSESSMENT OF THE STAY. I had the pleasure of spending a total of sixteen days in Mauritius, splitting my time between two hotels from the renowned Beachcomber chain: Paradise Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa (6 days) and Trou aux Biches Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa (10 days). Looking back on my entire stay, I can confidently say that I deeply regret not spending my entire vacation at Paradise Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa. Although both properties belong to the same chain and aspire to luxury, the difference in experience was colossal – Paradise surpasses Trou aux Biches by at least 100%.This place is the epitome of luxury and attentiveness. From the very first moment, I felt loved and genuinely wanted as a guest. The hotel service is exemplary, surpassing the standards of any other hotel I've stayed at in Mauritius. The staff not only met but exceeded expectations, attending to every detail, even the smallest. At Paradise Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, guests are recognized and appreciated at every turn. The level of service and personal attention to each guest are what sets this hotel apart from its competitors, even within the same chain. Furthermore, in terms of cleanliness, the beautiful, smooth tiles are incredibly easy to clean and maintain, creating a constant impression of care and order. Tablecloths were always on the tables, and I never had to worry about cleanliness. Most importantly, Paradise Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa offers a unique opportunity to relax in true tranquility, almost like being in the countryside. There's no hustle and bustle, no crowds, and nothing that could disturb your blissful peace and quiet. It's a place of pure beauty, peace, and cleanliness, where people are warm and friendly. The privacy of the beach and the absence of random strangers enhance this feeling of exclusivity and intimacy.

Choices for breakfast and buffet options not comparable to other resorts of the same category. Seating arrangement in buffet restaurant was too cramped, overall atmosphere during dinner time didn't feel very cosy.

Slight downside was that the double bed was clearly two singles zipped together, which was disappointing for the price-point. Restaurants are also clearly very expensive for the island - a meal with a prime elevated view at a local restaurant was cheaper than here. Having said that - it's not more than you would pay in any European resort, so it's all a matter of perspective

This place deserves it's reputation as a picturesque resort with everyone you need to relax and enjoy your holiday. The size of the place meant it never felt busy despite (apparently) being near capacity, the range of restaurants meant you never felt like you were 'trapped' in a hotel, and the range of facilities meant you could never get bored. We had 6 nights which flew by and we easily could have had more, but it did help that we like to play golf, where the course really was stand-out in quality and views.

One notable inconvenience is that water is complimentary during breakfast but must be paid for at dinner, which feels unnecessary at an all-inclusive property. The staff, although friendly, can be a bit slow at times, especially during busy hours. Food variety could also use improvement—particularly in the themed evening buffets, where there wasn’t enough selection of regular or familiar dishes. Additionally, dinners at the à la carte (non-buffet) restaurants were underwhelming unless you were willing to pay extra

The resort offers exceptionally spacious rooms, providing a high level of comfort and relaxation. The lush green surroundings create a serene and refreshing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding and enjoying nature. Everything is impeccably clean and well-maintained, reflecting the high standards of service. The beach is stunning—wide, clean, and inviting—with soft sand and crystal-clear waters. A variety of sea activities are available, including kayaking, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and jet skiing, ensuring there's something fun for everyone. Overall, a fantastic place for both relaxation and adventure.

Whilst it didn’t bother us, the location is quite remote so you are a little isolated at the resort. Port Louis is 1 hour away.

All of the staff were amazing, they couldn’t have been more helpful. We travelled for our honeymoon and were very well looked after, we enjoyed a complimentary spa treatment. The beach is beautiful, the food is plentiful and delicious, our favourite restaurant was Zest, but we enjoyed trying them all. A very calm atmosphere. Lots of activities to do, we experienced sailing, golf, water skiing, snorkelling and swimming with dolphins was a real highlight!

The staff lacked warmth and seemed somewhat disorganized. Our request for a late check-out was denied, and scheduled cabs failed to arrive on time. Having stayed at other resorts in Mauritius, I found the level of service and staff professionalism here noticeably lower by comparison.

The location is absolutely stunning — having a white sand beach with crystal-clear water just steps from the room truly felt like paradise. The food was excellent, especially at the Blue Marlin restaurant. Breakfast offered a wide variety and was consistently satisfying. Evenings were rather quiet, which made things feel a bit dull, especially considering the island has virtually no nightlife. The spa and gym facilities were decent, though average for a five-star resort.

Fantastic! Amazing resort on an even better location. Gorgeous beaches, great sports facilities, good food. Rooms are super spacious (I got a free upgrade :)), cleaning multiple times daily, bright, comfortable. Probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Will definitely come back.

From the moment we arrived, Paradis Beachcomber exceeded every expectation. We were warmly welcomed with a complimentary room upgrade, an incredible gesture that set the tone for the rest of our stay. The room was immaculate, beautifully appointed, and offered breathtaking views. Every detail, from the décor to the amenities in the room reflected thoughtful attention and care. - high prices in restaurants (3000 rupies in bufet per person is a lot event though there is wide selection of meals) - no choice to eat outside resort + you can't simply leave resort by walking (it is very far and separated) - stuff forgot to order us breakfast basket before our half-day trip to the mountains and we're hungry without energy (we got free lunch instead but 2 hours after I first contacted reception. Asking several people for compensation was a bit disappointing...) - stuff contacts you more than often and sometimes it is disturbing and employees should communicate more together otherwise if there is a problem to solve you need to explain same thing to 5 people until fifth is finally capable to help you - I would advise to train better employees or hire real profesionals

    - quiet and large room - comfortable beds - friendly stuff - beautiful beach - La Ravanne restaurant is real treasure - weekly activities fitted our expectations - honeymoon package was nice (we took hiking option) - same category hotel in different location offers more but in South Mauritius/Le Morne this is one of best places to stay

We had a junior suite that was close to the lobby and it was loud due to entertainment. The room was also getting a bit dated with wallpaper pealing off the walls and in need of touch ups. Considering the price we paid we probably would have done better with a lower grade room as there wasn’t much difference and to keep this in mind when booking.

The food was lovely at the restaurants but some of the menu was supplemented and you had to book so if you’re there for a short period book in advance, especially blue marlin on an evening. Water sports all included which was lovely and available whenever! Beaches were so clean and lots of towels available. Lots of sports to take part in! Concierge were helpful and always available

There were multiple complications and mix-ups with our booking and stay. 1. I was the main person booking, yet all letters and invoices were addressed to my 18 year old daughter. 2. I had booked breakfast to go, as we had an excursion planned for the day. They mixed up the days and we had no breakfast to take with us. (See my comment above on this) 3. We had enjoyed cocktails every evening and when checking out, there were some drinks, that we did not order. It was clear to see, that it was not our signature and the reception quickly agreed that there was a mix-up. I do think the hotel should change their booking system to avoid charging the wrong people. 4. There was mold in our bathroom, which should not happen at this level. We did not complain as we were only staying for 3 nights and the room was right between the rooms of our kids, so we didn't want to move. (see photos) 5. It took a very long time to get our drinks at dinner and sometimes we never received them. Not sure if they were understaffed, but this was disappointing to see and the hotel should improve here. Not a negative point but something good to know. Our kids are 16 and older. The hotel has a lot of young kids, which is nice to see but changes the atmosphere of the hotel a lot. Keep this in mind, should you be looking for a quiet beach vacation.

We first stayed at the Troux Biches Resort and had a 3 bedroom villa. This hotel was pricier per night, so our exceptions were high. We booked 3 rooms, which were upgraded from a grove view to an ocean view. This was a nice surprise. The location is absolutely stunning and I can't imagine a nicer place in Mauritius. They had a good selection of dining options, but most of them seafood. There was a mix-up with our breakfast to go. The sports manager (manager on duty at that time) was very apologetic and offered spa treatment for my son and his partner, as the rest of us were traveling back home the next morning. The next day after the spa treatment, they also received a free lunch. Mistakes happen and it's good to see that they did their best to make up for this. Well done.
