Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaLots of new staff and English was not their strong point with many examples of lost in translation issues. Food and beverages prohibitively expensive. Journey from airport to the hotel was via a narrow winding road and took an hour.
Beach facilities excellent, included breakfast high quality. Overall food was of high quality.

Saudi ArabiaNot much of a complaint but the upgraded suite was in a more adult area (near the spa and adult only pool) so was far from the family pool and the kids club.
We got upgraded which was a nice touch. The suite we had was big and comfortable. Beach BBQ on Friday was a nice touch. The kids club staff were amazing with my kids and the gift they sent them was appreciated. We also loved interacting with the turtles. All staff were generally very friendly and welcoming. Loved the free boats to the private island and Ile Aux Cerfs.

United KingdomSometimes we felt like some staff were trying to upsell services a little too hard. Granted the hotel is trying to drive revenue but there is a fine balance to strike when it comes to providing luxury service and trying to upsell/drive more revenue.
Our Honeymoon stay at Shangri-La Le Touessrok was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, all our expectations were exceeded. The sprawling resort is surrounded by 4 private beaches, all with the most incredible backdrop. We watched the sunrise over the ocean horizon each morning from the comfort of our bed or balcony in our Frangipani Ocean View Suite. The suite was spacious, modern and luxurious - equipped with everything you could need. The service was impeccable — staff were so warm and friendly, and they really went out of their way to get to know us. Special mention to Sada our Host, Kevin and Nowbuth in Housekeeping, Soobi our driver on arrival, Juan on the Private Island, Jean Marc the Lobby Host, the lovely Habiba at the Bar, and, Dianne at Breakfast. We wrote their names down over the course of our stay as they took extra time and care to get to know us, and they made our stay extra special. Dining was another highlight on the resort, with each restaurant offering its own distinctive experience. Safran was the best restaurant for us, so good we visited twice - food, staff and chef were amazing, with the chef coming to our table and preparing a bespoke menu for us as we were celebrating a special occasion. Coco's was our next favourite, which we visited daily for 'Golden Hour' drinks on the beach or had breakfast/dinner. The breakfast buffet was also very impressive, with a wider variety of options. Lastly, the private island experience on Ilot Mangénie was fantastic — having exclusive access to this slice of paradise made us feel privileged. The pools and beaches are brilliant, and given the resort is so spread out it feels quiet and relaxing everywhere - (bearing in mind we visited during May, which seemed to be mostly couples). The gym is great too and don't forget to visit the turtles! We can't thank Shangri-La Le Touessrok enough - you gave us the most incredible honeymoon and memories to cherish.

SwitzerlandEverything about our stay was truly perfect, from the service to the setting. If we had to mention one downside, it would be that there's no clear option to leave a tip when signing restaurant bills, which made it harder to show our appreciation for the amazing staff.
We had the immense joy of spending part of our honeymoon at Shangri-La Le Touessrok, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was nothing short of exceptional, truly as premium as it gets. The entire staff was incredibly attentive, always greeting us with a smile and going out of their way to make sure everything was just right. Whether it was the concierge, restaurant staff, or the team at the beach, everyone seemed genuinely invested in making our stay unforgettable. The restaurants were a delight, with every meal turning into a special moment, a perfect mix of flavors, atmosphere, and impeccable service. And the resort's facilities and services were flawless, adding to a seamless, luxurious experience throughout. As honeymooners, we felt truly cared for, and it’s hard to imagine a more idyllic and welcoming place to celebrate such a special time. Thank you to the entire Shangri-La team for making our stay absolutely perfect.

ItalyThere are not many shops / activities out of the hotel unless you do not want to drive ~1h away, so you are mostly forced to do things through the hotel - which is fine, but I was not expecting this to be the case. For example, you are mostly forced to eat in the hotel and the restaurants are very expensive (even compared to London). I could have expected this from Shangri-La and I could have researched more, so it is mostly my fault. I am saying this for the people that plan to come to make them aware that in the East part of the island it is more of a”resort type” of experience.
I loved everything, from the room to the amazing staff welcoming you. The activities complementary with the stay were completely unexpected and filled our days with joy and fun. The location was stunning with nature and architecture perfectly complementing each other. But, above all, the staff played the biggest role: everyone was so helpful, kind and smiley - after eating at the Kushi restaurant our waiter came out just to greet us, and this really warmed our hearts.

United KingdomWe were underwhelmed by the buffet restaurant TSK. The service was quite slow and not 5* in my opinion. The food was hit and miss. Sometimes really nice, sometimes average. The standard wasn’t as high as the other restaurants but was actually more expensive. We did really enjoy the Asian buffet night and the Yuzu tart was one of the best desserts we’ve ever had. Our room was lovely with an amazing view but our shower leaked into the toilet which caused us to slip a couple times.
The beach was absolutely stunning. We loved the water-sports on offer such as sailing, water skiing, kayaking and padel boarding. The water-sports team were great. The decor of the hotel was beautiful and luxurious, especially at Safran restaurant, Sega bar and the beach house restaurant. We absolutely loved the access to the private island. Having lunch there and spending the day there was really special. Our cleaner Ayesha was great and we loved the chocolates she left everyday.
