How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Verified reviewWe were 3 weeks in this accomodation (studio) and we really liked it. Bindya and Parmeet are very warm hosts. The breakfast was very good and altough we do not bought half board we are able to eat dinner when 2 times when we said it a day before. The dinner was always excellent. The room was cleaned regularly and we had the possibility for a washing service (because we hadn't packed clothes for 3 weeks). Overall it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay and we would definitly come back.

Verified reviewSuper helpfull hosts that will assist with their knowledge about what to see and where to eat. Bindya is super responsive! The house is super clean, rooms are spacious, so are private bathrooms, pool is kept in brilliant quality, breakfasts are daliy changed, made fresh and sreved to the table. Totally recommend this place of you’re staying on the north coast.

Verified reviewI liked the super friendly welcome we received it was my first trip to Mauritius and it gave a good impression .The property was recently renovated and has 3 bedrooms upstairs each with its own large ensuite.The towels and bedding were clean and the breakfast and dinner was different every day with generous portions .The pool area was amazing. Safe parking is available . The property is close to many tourist attractions and walking distance to the beaches..I would definitely go back there.Many many thanks to Bindya and Parmeet for your hospitality

The pool was great, very close to this property is a really good indian restaurant.

The hosts were friendly and made delicious breakfasts. 10min walk to the nearest beach or a 5-10min drive to Grand Baie/ Pereybere. Some really nice food nearby as well. Loved all the birds and plants at the property, it was such a lovely home. Our room was clean and had air conditioning.

Verified reviewThe host was really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the portions were quite large. An additional bonus is the quiet neighborhood and the possibility to park the car in proximity of the guesthouse.
The room we were staying in was quite warm and the roof was a bit too low (tall people should watch out not to hit it with the head).

Expected at least 3 star facility but no where near. It was paying guest accommodation run by young couple no other staff. Nearly 2 hour travel from airport in South to extreme North 15 mnts from beach. To and fro instead of shuttle owners car used paying about £50 each way. The room was just enough space for double bed, very low ceiling and pointed , quite a few times head hit while standing. No independent toilet shower room but shared. Even toilet paper had to be asked while staying. It may be low budget paying guest room but unacceptable
Dear Mr Amar, Your stated that you had to share your bathroom/toilet which is a completely false accusation. You booked the budget room and all our budget rooms have their own private bathroom/toilet. It is not mentioned on booking.com that we are a 3 star hotel, it is clearly mentioned homestay. I understand that for your age the long travel to and back from the airport was uncomfortable for you but we tried our best to cater and help you all throughout your stay. You had a clean functional room with a/c , you had the beach within less than 10mins walk. You could have booked a nice beachfront hotel with all amenities and staff at your service 24/7 but you did not. It is very unfair to compare a homestay with a hotel. We know we did our best to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. We spent several evenings talking and laughing together. It is very unfair and unethical now to mislead our future guests.

Verified reviewBindya and her husband are super friendly and helpful. They didn't mind answering all our questions about the surroundings and Mauritius in general. They provided good advice and we are happy with the places we visited. The room was hot but equipped with air-conditioning. The colonial style house is pretty and surrounded by tropical trees and flowers. And pet turtles :)
A few things could be improved like replacing the missing shower doors, ensuring the curtains cover the whole window (with full moon and sunrise at 5:30 am, the room was fairly bright the whole night) or a bit more attention to details with the cleanliness. But overall we had a very good experience for the price.
