Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe were on HB - the food was a bit fussy and a lot of the dishes had an extra charge on them on top of the half board package. Wine was expensive.
The room was very pleasant and the staff very attentive. The beach is very sweet and there is another, bigger public beach just round the cove. It’s 400 rupees each way to get a taxi into Grand Baie which we did one night. It’s high service level, small hotel, lots of couples. Be great for a honeymoon.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The food was excellent and the staff went above and beyond to make sure to take time to chat and give advice on what to do around the island, really making the stay personal. All of the staff were so friendly and in particular, we found Sanjeev so helpful and accommodating to us during our stay. Would really recommend Seapoint Boutique Hotel if you are looking for a personal and relaxing stay.

NetherlandsNo real negatives. If I have to name something the water pressure in the shower is not very high. But then I am nitpicking.
Fantastic location in Grand Baie, directly on the North shore of the island. Great ocean view from our hotel room Balcony. The room was very spacious and nicely decorated, the food was amazing (both breakfast and dinner) and the staff was super helpful and genuinly nice.,Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in Grand Baie.

South AfricaThat we had to pay for water. I think that it is a bit crazy to pay for recycled tap water. The other thing i found amazing was we only got coffee for our first day for Nespresso machine in our room, and there after, you have to pay for the pods. We never let that dampen our stay.
The attention of the staff was amazing. The service was superlative. We felt pampered from the moment we arrived. Small hotel but really good.

HungaryStaff too much, too pushy during dinner time to consume drinks, sometimes annoying. Hot water was not ready in the shower, had to wait 5 min to get it. Housekeeping was ok, maybe a bit weird that they knocked on the door even at night to ask if everything was ok. Before leaving we received the bill on our bed to indicate the remaining payments.

SlovakiaThere's not much to say about this hotel, the location is perfect, staff is superkind and very helpfull, they really take care of your complete stay, inculuding arranging any trips, car rental or transfers, we didn't know about it before stay and we book everything by ourselves, and it was useless, rooms are spacious, clean, and daily celaning leaves your room everytime really fresh, food is excellent, breakfest is rich, and dinner menu everyday different and always supertasty. Pool and beach are clean, only one small detail, the water in the ocean is bit shallow and you have to go a bit further to reach deeper water. For us it was a perfect stay whithout any mistake, would recommend 110%. They found for us a room for late check out, even the hotel was full, and didn´t charged any extra fee even they should. Simply spot on!

ItalyNo internal parking, we had to park outside of the hotel which was OK but sometimes a bit difficult to find a spot.
Everything was amazing, it felt like a dream. The staff is so kind and willing to assist and provide any kind of support or tips that you may need. It was our honeymoon and we received a few lovely gifts that made our stay even more enjoyable. They also organised a very romantic dinner on the beach for my wife's birthday. The hotel is fantastic, and the suite was beautiful and very big. Breakfast was amazing, the restaurant is delicious and the beach is quite nice, even if small. Boat trips are available directly at the reception, unfortunately we didn't manage to have any due to the weather. A pool table is available and they have a nice tea/coffee hour every day. We strongly recommend this hotel if you want to visit the north part of beautiful Mauritius.

NetherlandsVery personal service, the staff is really friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and really clean and all have a nice view. We especially liked the amazing food and the small scale of the hotel. We used the bikes a few time to ride to Mon Choissy beach (beautiful) and to Grand Baie for some shopping. We also recommend the private snorkelling tour with turtles.

United KingdomSome guests reserved sun beds at the pool and didn’t use them till the afternoon. The hotel policy is if the beds are left for 30 minutes or more they remove the towels however they didn’t enforce this which was annoying. That said we always managed to get loungers at the beach if the ones by the pool were taken. Some issues with lack of hot water in the shower some days.
Gorgeous beach front location with stunning pool and amazing staff. We stayed in a ground floor room which was great lots of space good air con comfy bed. We were half board and the food was fantastic we had planned to eat out some evenings but didn’t bother because the food was so good. The hotel is very quiet and great for relaxing which is exactly what we wanted and most hotel guests are couples. There is a supermarket walking distance from the hotel if you want to buy beer, water etc.

South AfricaWhen checking in we were made to seat at a spot that had too many mosquitoes. They real bit us 😔.
Beautiful views, great supper, we didn’t tell them it’s my wife’s birthday but they figured it out from the details on the passport and gave her a special cake during dinner. The property was nice just unfortunate that we were there only 3 nights so we didn’t get to fully enjoy it.

GermanyAbsolutely an amazing place… staff is super nice and will take all the steps for your comfort and good stay. Amazingly kept place with nice decor and super clean. Breakfast and the dinner is very nice. It is great not to have buffet but proper al carte dinner even when you book half board. It’s a 22 rooms hotel which also adds to the charm that you do not have this hundreds of rooms club hotels. Loved it. The food you get outside the breakfast and dinner at the beach bar, can be improved (but that was a minor one). We picked for the last 3-4 nights of our Mauritius trip to recharge batteries and just chill, and it was a great one. They also have free bicycles, kayak, snorkeling equipment etc. The spa is also very nice. The beach of the hotel is not really for swimming. It is very shallow, but has amazing snorkeling. But our most favorite beach (Mont Choisy) is just 12 mins walk away.

HungaryEverything was perfect!
We spent 8 days in a Deluxe Beachfront Room with my husband and it was a dream! It's a perfect place for couples. Everything looks even better than in the pictures. Each detail of the hotel is unbelievably beautiful. The garden is extraordinary with lovely birds. Rooms are big enough and well equipped. There's a wide range of meals on the menu and all of them is super delicious and stylish. They use high-quality local ingredients. Staff is very nice and helpful. You can ask anything anytime, they will help you with pleasure and spoil you with surprise snacks day by day. The beach is calm. It's the western shore of the island so the weather is not very windy and the water is clean. Mont Choisy beach is just around the corner which is an excellent sunset watching spot. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends who plan to visit Mauritius.

ItalyNo private parking. One night during a heavy rainstorm, a water leakage from the ceiling occurred and damaged our laptop. Even though events like these are not foreseeable, I did not expect something like this to happen in such an hotel. However, the staff was great in addressing and solving the issue.
The hotel is small and very well managed. Staff was super kind and the overall service was better than a comparable hotel we stayed during the same vacation. Restaurant was amazing.

United KingdomThey weren’t great with allergies; my husband has a severe sesame allergy and was given sesame during every evening meal. We were able to identify where sesame seeds or humous had been used, and they were happy to change his plate, but it did put us on edge slightly whenever it was time to eat! We also had an uncomfortable moment with one of the staff; he carried our luggage to our room and would not leave until we tipped him. Having just arrived in Mauritius we didn’t have any small change but felt obliged to give him money when we did get some change. Having spoken to other guests it seems he did this to everyone. We had a fantastic stay with Seapoint overall, but this did make us feel quite uncomfortable on our arrival.
We had a wonderful stay at Seapoint. The location was very tranquil and we liked that it was quite a small and intimate hotel. As we were on our honeymoon they upgraded our room to a suite with a beautiful view over the pool area and sea. The room seemed well kept and was cleaned to a good standard. The staff were on the whole very friendly and helpful, and one barman in particular was a fantastic cocktail mixologist; his spicy margaritas and mojitos were amazing. The evening food was incredible! Breakfast was also great, but the food we ate in the evenings was the best that we had during our stay in Mauritius. One evening we paid a supplement to have a full red snapper; it was just delicious. Overall we loved this hotel, and would definitely recommend it to people looking for a relaxing getaway in paradise.

United StatesWhat a great boutique hotel! The private beach and pool are quite nice, and it's only a ten-minute walk to one of the best public beaches I've ever visited, at Mon Choisy. The rooms are clean and well maintained, the restaurant and snack bar are good, and the staff were extremely attentive to our needs. We had a lovely few days and highly recommend it!
