The location and the room were excellent, as were the staff.

There was an issue with the toilet continuing to drain after flushing. I reported this twice, and it was not repaired properly either time. I reported it again at check out to a different member of staff.

The decor and the location were both very good. The breakfast staff were lovely and very helpful.

We picked the hotel as it advertised "soundproofing" and "air-conditioning", both of which were important given I'm currently 6 months pregnant. Unfortunately we were kept awake during our stay due to noise, and we were unable to turn the temperature below 25 degrees. The ground floor turns into baggage storage during the day and we were greeted by someone yelling "€5 for a bag", before we explained we were guests trying to check into the hotel

Location on the city center. Fresh flowers and kind handwritten card in the room.

The decor has its own style, boho, kitsh etc, but no so confortable and harmonious. The room window was facing the building, like an interior patio so not much light. Breakfast room is also small and dark and not so many regular continental breakfast options. The building and the street is noisy. Expensive for the general conditions.

We loved the location of this guest house! It is right in the centre of Valletta on one of the lovely streets with restaurants/cafes on the stairs. We stayed in the Aurora room and could not hear any of the noise from the street and slept well all 3 nights that we stayed! The breakfast selection is good, including the traditional pastizzi and all the staff were lovely and so friendly. The room itself was beautifully decorated and the guest house is full of character. Perfect for exploring Valletta and hopping on ferries to the surrounding areas.

Our only thing that we would change is that the bed might be seen as too soft for those who prefer a firmer mattress.

    the location

The cleaning: they hesitated to give us more amenities when we asked them next day, even though we were two, and we have found one small shower gel and shampoo upon our arrival the previous day, we also found dirty shocks under the bed from the previous guests

Great location for exploring Valetta and easy walk to buses and ferries. Interesting room decor in British royal style. Plenty of food at breakfast. Although other people have commented on the noise from the bars below, we found the windows blocked most of it out and once the aircon was on it didn't disturb us at all.

My wife and I spent three nights at Valletta Lucente Guest House, and it was one of the highlights of our time in Malta. The guest house is located on one of Valletta’s most charming and lively streets, full of character and atmosphere. Despite the bustle outside, the soundproofed windows ensured that our room was perfectly quiet at night. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and full of charm, with a lovely blend of modern comfort and historic style. The bathroom was equally large, adding to the overall sense of comfort and relaxation. Each morning, we enjoyed the generous breakfast buffet, served in a cozy indoor courtyard that created a peaceful and intimate setting to start the day. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and great tips for exploring the city. We would absolutely recommend Valletta Lucente to anyone looking for a stylish, central, and welcoming place to stay in Malta.

    Can't think of anything

I loved the interior design, all reminded me old and untouched atmosphefe of Malta. Higly recommend if you want to experience something truly historical, just renovated to feel comfortable, clean. Breakfast - wide variety of cheese, salami, homemade sweets and breads, vegetable (olives, dried tomatoes, etc). I enjoyed my breakfast a lot. Romantic view from balcony.

There was a noise from the street, because the Maltese people and tourists party a lot. However, for me it wasn't a trade off, I use earplugs. Just worth to mention for family with children, etc.

It had a nice roof terrace

The location was on a busy street with bars which played very loud music until about 2.30 am. The description said the rooms were soundproof, ours (Layla) faced the street and was not. We could not sleep. The price was completely outrageous for the quality of the property. The photos make it look much nicer than it is. The renovation has been done to a poor standard and is very DIY. The room had hardly any sockets, the access to the bathroom was dangerous, the lighting was poor. The breakfast was also uninspiring. I feel very aggrieved that I spent so much money on something of such low quality. The room should have been maybe €120, not €300! The staff were very nice and I accept that the noise is not their fault, but that does not excuse the rip off pricing.

We stayed in the cherub room. Comfortable bed and nice touch with an elephant towel fold! The staff were very kind. The breakfast was excellent all little home made dishes!

The property advertises a terrace… turns out only if you book the penthouse. This was a shame as it was partly the reason we booked. Additionally, the bathroom retained a lot of water and after a shower the walls were wet, the wallpaper showed up some light mould

Fantastic location right in the heart of Valletta. Great room with a lot of space and lots of quirky features. Good breakfast in in lovely traditional surroundings. Room air conditioned.

The window does have double glazing but if you are a light sleeper you can hear as a low level background noise music from the bars in the street below

Quiet room in a great location. Very friendly staff. Delicious breakfast.

Bed was very uncomfortable and only duvet offered during summer which meant full air-conditioning needed.
