How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Our room was tiny and split in two parts that did not make much sense. Bathroom was integral part of the room and so was the shower cubicle so there was no privacy and after the shower room was full of water and humidity. Coffee pods were not Nespresso but some random, no name capsules. This was definitely not a five star experience at all.

The spa is underground so somewhat dingy, and the small plunge pool is also dark and uninviting (a rooftop pool would be much more inviting).

Verified reviewThe Iniala Modern offered a perfect balance of modern décor and amenities, with local charm in a historic location. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Starting the day at their rooftop restaurant with a delicious breakfast was perfect.
There was minimal natural light and only a good view from the bathroom, so would consider a different room configuration next time.

Verified reviewWe could not fault this hotel. We had a room overlooking the harbour towards Fort St Angelo, and this was the view at breakfast too. The best view ever. The staff were amazing. Very receptive and efficient and accommodating on any minor requests we had. The gym was really handy and the spa was very relaxing and sumptuous. We did not take advantage of the restaurant but the breakfasts were amazing. The room staff came in twice a day and kept our room clean and left little treats.
There was not one thing we would change. We were not in the same building as the spa and gym so we couldn't walk from our room to these facilities in a robe but it was fine.

Verified reviewThe hotel was a beautiful boutique hotel. Lovely views from the restaurant and breakfast was lovely, well cooked and a good variety of choice. We had the Spa room, which was actually booked in error but it was a beautiful comfortable room with everything you needed provided. Lounge area, bedroom, walk-in wardrobe and bathroom with double shower. Easy access to the ferries and a short walk to the centre of Valletta, location great. The spa was small but nice, we had it to ourselves most of the time. It was literally outside our room. We had a 13 course meal in the hotels Michelin star restaurant, which was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We would visit again and recommend.
It would of been nice if the hotel had a bar you could sit at. You can order drinks in the reception area, but they took a while to arrive, there is only a bar in the restaurant which is only available when eating. We found although the breakfast was lovely on two or three occasions they didn't get out order right, I feel this is because they don't write anything down!

Verified reviewIniala Harbour House is everything you could wish for from a luxury hotel. Location: sits right on the harbour, overlooking the water towards the three cities, with easy access to boats and ferries. Plus a short walk to Valletta’s city centre, with bars, restaurants, cathedrals and palaces to explore. Staff: wonderful, wonderful people. Not just efficient and fast, but genuinely friendly and interesting. Food: the best Michelin star meal I have experience. But they also do a fabulous breakfast, and delicious room service menu. Comfort: our room, wow! Stunning views across the harbour, extremely comfortable and well thought out, with exceptional facilities. Cleanliness: the hotel is immaculate and smells wonderful! Value for money: worth every penny.
