Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Absolutely stunning hotel in the heart of Valletta. Views from the rooftop pool and bar were unforgettable. Cocktails and dinner fantastic. Staff were outstanding, nothing was an issue. Would highly recommend this hotel if staying in Valletta as restaurants shops bars all close walking distance and the pool is highly required in summer!

AustraliaCentrally located and modern hotel in the heart of Valletta. We were upgraded and had a spacious room with a wonderful little terrace / courtyard area. Breakfast was also wonderful on the terrace with a spectacular view over the city. The toiletries (L’Occitane) smelt amazing and the bed was comfortable and roomy. Staff were very friendly and attentive throughout our stay from front desk to the cleaners. Overall we had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to come back!

United KingdomHaving the rooftop pool in the city was a great addition although there aren’t very many sun beds or shaded areas which can be a bit intense during the hot days. For safety reasons, every seated area should have the option to be shaded.
Lovely hotel in the perfect location. Very clean and the reception staff were very friendly. The breakfast was also great and had a lot of vegetarian options which can be hard to find at a hotel breakfast.

A wonderful hotel perfectly situated in the centre of Old Town Valletta. Prosecco was offered on checking in and the room was large, clean and spacious. The rain shower in the bathroom was very comfortable to use and the anti fog mirror was very useful. WiFi was fast throughout building. Plug sockets supported multiple different countries. Breakfast was delicious with either buffet or an a la carte menu complimented with incredible views of the city. The evening restaurant was very busy so I highly suggest making a reservation if you wish to have to dinner here (I'd recommend making a reservation anywhere if you plan on eating past 19:30 - 20:00 as there was some evenings I was turned away from several places as they had full occupancy until close). As a hotel guest, ask to visit the sun terrace around sunset - the views are incredible! The street outside the hotel is very busy (as is all of the Old Town in the evening) with tourists and live music, yet I didn't hear a sound from our atrium facing room. As a cautionary warning, I booked my airport transfer back to the airport via booking.com and it failed to turn up and their phone was switched off when attempts of contact was made. The front desk staff at the hotel were fortunately and thankfully able to arrange a near instantaneous transfer for me and I probably would have missed my flight if not for it, so a huge, huge thank you for this, and a special thank you to all the staff for making my stay here very memorable. Should I ever return to Valletta I won't hesitate to stay here again and shall recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting!

United States⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My stay at The Embassy Valletta Hotel was truly unforgettable. Located right in the heart of Malta’s capital, it offers the perfect mix of modern comfort and charm. The interior design is elegant and thoughtfully done — every detail feels high-end yet welcoming. But the real highlight is the rooftop — the panoramic views over Valletta are simply breathtaking, especially at sunset. The staff was professional and kind, making sure everything went smoothly. A perfect choice if you want to enjoy Malta in style and comfort. Highly recommended!

United KingdomSometimes housekeeping didn’t replenish the tea bags or coffee pods, and once took our robes without replacing them. But a quick call to reception and it was sorted within minutes.
The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing despite being in the middle of a busy city. The rooftop was a highlight for us. In Valletta in can be hard to find hotels with a pool, so having the space to relax and cool down was perfect. While the subbed area by the pool was slightly limited, there’s also a roof deck with extra loungers and comfy sofas. It was much quieter up there and had a nice breeze, though to access the pool you have to walk through the restaurant. The location was ideal- right in the centre of Valletta, surrounded by lovely restaurants and close to buses and taxis to explore the island more. The hotel is located on a lively party street with music, which can be noisy outside, but you’d never know from the rooms. The staff were brilliant throughout our stay- everyone from reception to rooftop to housekeeping was friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool closes at 7pm, but they offer a midnight swim between 12-1am. We absolutely loved swimming at night and even saw fireworks from the pool, which was really special. Breakfast wasn’t included in our stay, but we did receive a complimentary breakfast one morning. The selection wasn’t huge, but had everything you’d typically want for breakfast.

United KingdomThe only small issue I experienced was with the air-con in the bedroom - the flow of the air created a draughty spot all night, focused on my neck and ear. Couldn’t seem to do much about about it - just the way the air curled around the ceiling and walls. Didn’t affect my partner at all so it was just one particular spot. Too hot not to have air-con on though. If there was a way to make the airflow more diffused it would have been fine. Fire alarm went off in the early hours of one morning, which jolted many residents out of bed and down the stairs, but turned out to be a false alarm.
Incredible location, friendly staff. Magical rooftop terrace with pool.

United Arab EmiratesWalking through the restaurant to go to the pool felt a bit awkward at first. It was also disappointing not to have straightforward access to the rooftop as a guest. I insisted and was eventually allowed up to watch the sunset, but on one of the nights we stayed, the upper deck was fully privatised, so we couldn’t go up at all. It really shouldn’t be this complicated for hotel guests.
The location and rooftop views were fantastic! We truly appreciated the warm welcome and the thoughtful touches for our daughter’s birthday, thank you again, Aleksander!
