Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe ground floor lower-down layout of the appartment with small windows means natural coolness in summer but obviously also no great views and low light levels. This might not suit some guests, but after being outside on a hot days I very much liked coming back into a naturally cool flat without the ice-coldness of an air-conditioner. To clarify, there is an air-conditioner, but I never needed to use it.
First and most importantly: everything was spotlessly clean. The owner/manager Maria was extremely friendly and instantly responsive to messages. There were a few "start-up" issues which got all settled quickly and to my fullest satisfaction. All my requests and questions were responded to positively and quickly and which even included a new microwave! The style of building is a modern Maltease villa, of which the rented out-part is on the ground floor. As such, low down with small windows, it will remain naturally cool in summer. All facilities are modern, except the over/hob - hence the request for a microwave. :-); wifi was fine. The kitchen was well equipped with a gas hob, gas oven, kettle, toaster, standard-sized fridge and now a microwave; everything worked fine. Car parking was never a problem, the property is at the end of a cul-de-sac with only the house residents parking there. The whole property is very quiet and it was great to wake up to the bird dawn chorus from the nearby fields. The main coast road is distant enough that no noise from traffic can be heard - rather the rural setting means you might hear birds, cockerel, donkey, sheep. Great! A small well-stocked convenience shop is nearby in the village centre, for 'emergency' groceries, toiletries, etc., but vice-versa don't expect bustling tourist activities in that village, except at the water park. This was my first time at this property and I would certainly return if it is available next time I come to Malta.

MaltaLovely relaxing place. Very near to a beautiful beach. In winter it's easy to walk by the country side too. Easy parking and just 5 minutes away to the bus stop. Lovely restaurants around too. Close to St Julians and easy to get to most places. To top it all off Maria is a very good and welcoming host. 10/10

EstoniaThe address of property is totally wrong on booking, navigator will bring you few hundred meters away. The main dissatisfaction is the wrong photos of the view on booking. On booking even at the room photos we saw amazing view on the first photo that is supposed to be visible from the apartment. Actually you won't see it. The photo is taken from the host apartment that is one floor above and is their private space. The current apartment is actually located at a level of an underground garage and there is no any worth view from windows, despite walls. Unreasonably poor facilities. One wine glass per apartment, no any normal sharp knife, no sponge to wash the dishes, completely worn out bath carpet that should be thrown away rather than used there, one roll of toilet paper with 10% remained, totally empty bottle of shower gel for some reason left to us, worn out pillows without any shape. Compared to the booking price all these facilities are relative cheap, but surprisingly not solved. Since a car garage is next to apartment, the garage door motor makes noise and wakes you up when the host goes to work every morning. Without any prior notice, one morning there was a tree cut, when they started at 7.30 to settle a ladder outside and cut trees with a chainsaw. What a beautiful morning... :(. No excuse was given after that, like the normal thing just had happened. When we went away we turned on AC to return back into chill apartment, but when we were back at the evening it was off, the apartment was hot. No any timer was set on that, we complained to the host and she said that it might be that AC is so smart enough that turns off when it consumes too much electricity and suggested us to use it on 26 degrees :). But after this conversation, suddenly AC stopped to turn off on the next days, even when we left it at 19 degrees. What a magic :) One morning we also throwed away our undercooked breakfast because gas ended and stove stopped working.
Hosts were polite, met us at night and allowed to use their private pool. Also welcomed us with some bottles of water and a local wine.
