Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germany- it was a bit weird that the toilet doesn't have a toilet lid?! not very hygienic... - the balcony was tiny - because my room was on the 9th floor, I could hear almost everything above me (which is think was the terrace). due to the strong wind, many things were falling down and this was loud - the area is full of (loud) party people and bars, it was unfortunately not the right place for me but this isn't the fault of the hotel
- very nice staff - very clean - modern, big room with much space for all belongings - water for free - wifi worked perfectly - elevator - daily cleaning

IrelandCan be very loud as expected near the strip but it got a bit annoying. Mainly younger people stay here and there is no sound limits or quiet times. We came for the parties so it was fine but if you were coming for a relaxing holiday it wouldn't be ideal
The location was good super close to shops and restaurants and it was easy to check in etc. Staff was very nice.

United KingdomBreakfast options could have been a bit more varied, gym is in neighbouring hotel but easy to get to
We had a great stay at Hotel Mistral! Staff are super friendly and accommodating. Location is very central - walking distance from loads of restaurants, shops, bars, and St Julian's Bay. Rooftop pool + bar is also great.

PolandIt was a littlw weird as the cleaning staff was cleaning pur room while we went for the breakfast. The room was cleaned every day but we did not expect the staff to be in the room as we came back to the room. Not a big problem though.
Super friendly staff, available at any time. Coffee and tea at our disposal in the kitchen the whole day. Nice pool at the rooftop.

United KingdomEverything was perfect
We had the best stay, it was my partners birthday and the staff made it so special, they were so friendly and extra helpful. The hotel itself was absolutely spotless and maintained perfectly. The facilities were all perfect, the room was beautiful, extra clean and had everything we needed, we loved the balcony too. The location was absolutely perfect, in the centre of st julians, walking distance to the bay, lots of bars & restaurants and anything else we needed, there’s also a bus stop 2 mins away that takes you anywhere on the island, it only took 30 mins to get to Valletta. Im really glad I chose this hotel, and when I (hopefully) return to Malta in the future I will definitely stay here! An extra perk is that it it not a huge hotel, so it’s not busy, there’s not tons of people walking past your room or fighting for space at breakfast, it made the hotel feel very homely!

GreecePool was a bit small and shallow, there could be some fresh orange juice for breakfast. There was a bath towel with a stain on it but they replaced it with new ones right away. The gym is located at another hotel nearby. Also, it could be a bit cheaper.
Breakfast was great, location was good, really close to the bus stop for the city center and the airport. There are bars/clubs, supermarket and restaurants at walking distance. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. Pool space was relaxing. We were given a room on a high floor, as requested.

GreeceThe hot water wasn't enough for two persons. That problem is referred also from other people to the comments and is just 100% truth. Also the isolation is definitely not enough. One hour later check in it shouldn't be an issue.
Very clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff. For the price of 70€ per night was good.

HungaryWe went for a weekend holiday in February with a friend, and I can't emphasise enough how perfect it was! All of the staff we met made us feel welcome and had some lovely chats too! Our room was spotless, the pillows were super soft and we really enjoyed the rooftop pool (which was heated), as well as the gym. The breakfast had a good selection with english breakfast and fresh pastry, vegetables and fruit. I'm vegetarian, but still had a lot of choices! The hotel is near a busy party/shopping area, but on a quiet street, so it was really convenient for going out and still had a good sleep after.

SerbiaThe accommodation was great – everything was clean and nicely arranged. We had coffee every day, and the room was cleaned daily. The staff was incredibly kind, especially the reception staff from Serbia – they were amazing! The rooftop pool was a highlight, and the bed was very comfortable. The terrace was lovely, and the location was perfect – not noisy at night, contrary to what some reviews say about this area.

United KingdomOnly flaw is noise from the street, but this can’t be helped by hotel staff
From the start the trip was great, Vanessa welcomed me in and was a constant anchor for help during the whole stay. My room was fully cleaned every day of the stay, the breakfast offering was plentiful, free hot drinks and flavoured water all day, and the heated pool after running the half marathon was a treat!

United KingdomNot the hotel's fault, just the noise of the street could bleed into the room at night.
Overall, a fantastic hotel which I would definitely recommend. Firstly, the staff were really welcoming and lovely; big shout out to Albemy and Vanessa who were really friendly and helped me with any questions / requests I had. The hotel (and room) were incredibly clean and the rooms modern. Breakfast was decent with a fair range of options (eggs, sausages, yogurt, cereal etc). A great place to stay. Location was fantastic, close to everything (especially transport!).

SpainThe hotel itself is located in a quiet residential street with very little traffic and just residential buildings (and a couple of other small hotels) nearby. BUT. That small residential street connects directly to probably the main road in St. Julian's. This road is not a highway, you won't be bothered by the traffic, but all the nightlife facilities also connect to that road. So, you'll be able to hear some screams, laughs, music and other relevant noises at night, to some extent even with the windows closed. I've been staying off-season and it was still present, I imagine during the season it's even worse. That said, if you're sensitive to noise, you can do one of the two things: - either bring some earplugs + keep the windows closed — the hotel being located a bit farther from the main road and the noise isolation of the windows is overall pretty good, so even without earplugs it will be blocking most of the noise, but don't expect quiet sleep with windows open - or stay in a different place altogether — on the outskirts of St. Julian's or even in a different town. This is, obviously, not the hotel's fault and they tried to mitigate it as much as they could but be aware. One small nitpick for the hotel itself: the motion sensor activated ventilation in the bathroom is effective but also pretty annoying, it would be nice to be able to enable/disable it manually when not needed.
Very nice hotel, the stuff is very friendly and the room was very comfortable inside. It was very clean, bed, shower, hangers for clothes — all present and all working well. It was also nice to have a coffee machine in the room, and also, I don't quite remember already, but I think a kettle and a mini-fridge were there too — very convenient. Overall, both the room and the hotel in general well deserve a top rating. There's only one "but" (and hence 9 instead of 10), that doesn't quite depend on them and more about it below.
