Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI couldn't really fault it.
Good customer service. Good location. The facilities were amazing. Housekeeping calling round twice a day just to make sure you've got everything you need. Room service could be ordered via the mobile app as well as the phone. A very long time range on the breakfast such as 6:30 all the way to 10:30 in the morning.

United KingdomAlthough booked a sea-view room the sea view was very partial due to the angle of the hotel. Our room looked onto the very edge of the end of the beach with the majority of the vista filled by the nearest church. Not a horrendous outcome but tarnished our expectations; no other rooms were available at the time.
Breakfast restaurant is well spaced out on a floor below reception via a lift/stairs. Lots of choices as you'd expect from Marriott, mediterranean fare with cooked options too. The upper pool sun beds are taken really quickly, the main pool was virtually empty during our stay, prior to UK school holidays. A pleasant terrace to sip an evening cocktail before heading out and about for dinner. We were surprised at how busy the area is once the sun goes down; our experience was to book a table in the places we ate as we had seen a few couples and small groups turned away even though there appeared to be vacancies.

The breakfast buffet was fantastic, and it you pay for M Club privileges, it's free. Everything you could possibly want for breakfast, and if something you wanted wasn't there, the staff would happily get it for you.

RomaniaI believe could be a lillte bit more cleaner, the air conditiining was not properly working in the room and made some noise, the breakfast eas the same every day and not highly qualitative. For a 5 star hotel could have been much much better

United KingdomThe route to the main pool is a pain due to it being located across the street but the pool itself and the set up is lovely nonetheless.
Great location, beautiful hotel where staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The M club is well worth the extra cost and a 16+ pool is a nice touch. Buffet breakfast is impressive with plenty of variety and high quality. The omelette station a highlight.

Hotel is in an excellent location to easily visit St Julians, Sliema and Valletta. The level of service from all staff at the hotel was perfect and they very kindly upgraded us on check-in as we were in Malta celebrating a special occasion. The pool area is highly spacious, the pool is an ideal temperature and there are plenty of beds for all guests on a daily basis. Highly recommended if you're looking a hotel in this area.

United KingdomThe breakfast was of poor quality, vast selection but the ingredients were cheap and a lot of the food was not fresh. Very disappointing for a Marriott hotel of that standard and not acceptable at over 250 euros per night!!!
The room was spacious, clean and with all comfort. The pools area were great, the stuff was fantastic, wonderful location

FranceFor those with the nice sea view rooms, prepare for some noise from the coastal road at the foot of the hotel (especially on Friday and Saturday evenings) as it is located in a very lively part of town (as in loud stag parties and motor cycle riders showing off how much noise their motor cycles can make), but this is obviously beyond the control of the hotel. With windows closed it was manageable.
Facilities, friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff, engaged manager (Alex), excellent breakfast, lovely pool, great sea-side view, parking space. And close to several spots for a quick dip in the sea.

BulgariaOne thing that surprised me was the absence of a minibar in the room, which I would expect from a Marriott hotel. Additionally, we were asked to pay a €200 deposit upon check-in, which was refunded after check-out. While everything went smoothly, we’ve stayed at other Marriott hotels before without such a requirement. Overall, a great stay, but worth noting these details for future guests.
I was extremely satisfied with my stay at Marriott Malta. The service was impeccable, everything was spotlessly clean, and the amenities were top-notch. The room had a stunning view and a small but cozy balcony – perfect for a morning coffee. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, and the interior design throughout the hotel was both elegant and inviting. A truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.

CyprusWe had booked two nights in an Executive Suite with Sea View, but we were given a room on the 5th floor with only a partial sea view, along with views of nearby buildings (!) and noise from the air conditioning compressors. After raising this with reception, we were told our options were to stay both nights in a room on the 6th floor, or spend one night in the current room and move to the 11th floor the next day, where the view would be better. We chose the second option. The next morning, after packing our suitcases for the move, we went to reception to ask about the transfer (as we hadn’t been contacted), only to find out that there was no update and no equivalent room available. Fortunately, after a conversation, the supervisor at reception — whom we sincerely thank — arranged for us to move to a Mediterranean Suite on the 10th floor, which had a wonderful view. Our final note: we would recommend that the hotel update the photos on its website to better reflect the actual rooms and views. Everything looks perfect online with amazing views, which unfortunately isn’t always the reality.
