Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe pool area could need a bit more attention (new chairs, umbrellas).

CanadaNo one was there during check in. Then my room wasn’t cleaned. Then on check out day, the house cleaner telling me to check out at 10am, when the check out time is at 11am. Bed is uncomfortable. There’s a padding that keeps sliding out of bed. I slipped out a few times.
Location is good. Restaurants nearby. The room is beautiful. The place is cute. Accessible by public transport. The stairs for the bathroom could be dangerous for others due to the amount of space around it.

NetherlandsThe bed is quite soft and for tall people the bed end is less convenient. The bathroom could use an upgrade and could be cleaner.
Location and view are great and how rare is it to sleep in a building of more than 750 years old!!!! Also the pool is a big bonus for chosing this L’Gharix Temple Retreat for a stay. A one of a kind place that I hope will be preserved against further building activities nearby /around.

Memorable experience in a small village at the one of the oldest temples in the world “Ggantia temples “ with stylish architecture, kind people and natural beauty such as Ramla beach to which I enjoyed hiking. The accommodation in the 800 old house put me back to the deep past with its lovely interior and architectural elements.

United StatesParking is on the street, it is easy and safe but there is about a 100m walk to the house.
Our hosts were great and gave us some excellent recommendations for our trip. The room was beautiful with a great historic feel. There were flowers everywhere on the grounds and around the pool. The house was also near a wonderful square with a beautiful church and good restaurants.

United KingdomNo criticism at all because this is a 700+ year old Gozitian property but just for awareness, the steps to the bathroom are not suitable for people who are unsteady on their feet.
The property was set in a beautiful garden near to Ggantija. The Orchid Room was very cosy with good facilities including a writing desk, a fridge and a very comfortable bed. Karin was a wonderful host.

AustraliaFor myself, there wouldn't be anything I'd change. I stayed here during the off-season and was really fortunate to be able to find availability here.
This accommodation is within walking distance of the Ġgantija temple. Karin has set up the stay with great facilities and the home is gorgeous. I will definitely be making a return trip!

GermanyThe floors were fairly dirty and the shower needs a deep clean.
The location was very quiet, and was just a ten minute walk from town, and five minutes away from a bus stop that had connections to all over the island. Very beautiful property and room, easy to feel at home. All the necessary amenities like a tea kettle and fridge were there, plus thoughtful extras like conditioner, tea, bug spray, and a beach towel.

BelgiumThe only slight minus could be that the last part of the driveway to get to the house, is in stones and very narrow so only small cars can get through. So you need to walk by foot further to the main gate. Not a big deal, only with 2 suitcases and at times when no one can help, it can be a challenge :) but that is also part of the charm.
The house itself, perfect renovation of a 750 year old house, with all necessities you need for a stay here. The old charm didn’t get lost with upgrading. Nice & tidy rooms, all comfort foreseen.

United KingdomOnly 1 minor criticism would be the hand held shower over small bath, it was manageable and we coped and it wouldn’t stop me going back, but a proper shower would make all the difference.
Lovely and peaceful environment in a great location for the every thing. Great pool that we had to ourselves most of the time. The old building is beautiful and we really felt we got to experience Gozo as it is, not at all touristy.

AustraliaI didn’t find the single bed as comfortable as I’m used to - although this is part of travel and the experience. Food required a walk our down to town square 8 mins away which wasn’t a major issue but just so people come mentally prepared. The pros far outweigh the cons however. The place was great - and Karin was great.
Located in a beautiful historic traditional farmhouse renovated and very short distance from Ggantija temple, and about 8 mins walk to town square on foot. The owner Karin (a former architect) is now a trained hypnotherapist and adept at helping people access their inner wisdom through guided sessions in this special location. I had a truly meaningful time there.

AustraliaA couple of extra power points would help - but what was provided was adequate, particularly for such an old building.
An absolutely magical place - supremely peaceful, extremely private, totally relaxing (one of the most comfortable beds we’ve met in our travels around the globe) - yet within walking distance of a delightful village square and the astonishing Ggigantija Neolithic temple complex. Karin’s cave beside the pool is an extraordinary place in itself! And the three cats are super friendly!
