How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe room was spacious and warmly decorated. The caring hosts, the exceptional house cat Georgio, and the homemade breakfast created a true home-like atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning a visit to Gozo Island.
The bathroom was quite small, though manageable to use (heads-up for a person of larger build who may wish to take this into account). Also, although the hotel had a pool, it was very small and not particularly inviting, so we didn’t feel like using it.
Hello Aldona, thanks for your feedback, reviews are precious for us and help us improve! We are very happy you felt comfortable in the room and you enjoyed the breakfast, we always do our best :) regarding the bathroom, yes the size is quite small, and we follow instructions of booking.com staff to make it as clear as possible in the descriptions, adding also pictures with the exact measurements of the bathroom. Regarding the pool, we are very sorry you didn't feel like spend some time there, as the majority of our guest really appreciate it, but off course we understand, it would be useful for us to know exactly what was "not inviting" in order to improve it 🤗 thanks again for choosing us and we wish you all the best🌻

Verified reviewA beautiful old building in a great location
The small bathroom - but it had to be small given the age and layout of the building!

Verified reviewSuch a lovely place where you instantly feel warm and welcome! The bed was super comfortable, and the hosts were amazing and thoughtful (they had sunscreen and beach towels to borrow). Breakfast was delicious, full of fresh local products. We only stayed for one night, but definitely not the last! P.S. the house cat is absolutely adorable. Can’t wait to visit again soon.
Nothing really to dislike. The bathroom is a bit small, but honestly nothing worth complaining about.

Verified reviewA lovely old Gozitan house converted into a B&B. It is very well taken care of by the Italian hosts. Delicious breakfast all home made by the hosts. Lots of plants and very clean throughout.
The place is a bit quirky. The room had a window overlooking a private terrace on one side and a window overlooking a public terrace on the other side. It felt somehow not very private. We closed the window from the outside before bedtime, to find it open in the morning.. not very private! And we had the AC on, so not very convenient to open the window for us. Pool area is small and in a yard with no view.
Thank you Alison for your review, we are happy you enjoyed the breakfast service and the cleanliness! Regarding the window, i don't really understand which window and I'm very sorry for that, we could figure out what happened if you told us in the morning. wish you all the best! thanks again for your stay

Verified reviewAmazing hosts, seriously engaging, knowledgeable, and fun. Option for eating dinner there. We did and it was really excellent. Wonderful and unique daily breakfast, a highlight for sure. Small and refreshing pool was fantastic after a hot day walking around. Nadur (location) was very quiet but in a good spot for getting around Gozo. Really cute place overall!
Not a criticism, but should be noted. Access to upper floors is by a very tight spiral staircase. We had no issues but I could imaging some folks having issues navigating it. Other than that nothing to dislike!

Verified reviewWe enjoyed our stay at Laremi a lot, because the house and the city it is located in has the authetic and calm spirit of Gozo. Perfect if you want to experience the Maltese culture away from the busy main island. The hosts were very nice and always up for a chat. They made a very delicious homemade breakfast with local products.

Verified reviewWonderful stay with really friendly hosts. We had a great time. Francesco cooked beautiful breakfasts and made us a really special dinner on the terrace. Hosts really happy to advise on places to go and even have parasols, snorkels etc that guests can borrow and water from the cooler to fill up your bottles. Our little balcony outside our room was lovely.
It was all great really so areas for improvement are just splitting hairs, and L’Aremi have been clear in their advertising about the areas that could be a little challenging for some, such as the staircase and the bathrooms being on the smaller side. But this was ok for us.

Verified reviewStaying at Laremi is special. We loved it all: the decor and ambiance of the rooms and shared spaces, the warm and authentic hosts, the splash pool at back or the terrace up top, the breakfast, the additional dinner, the location.. the list goes on and on.
This is not some corporate, generic hotel. This place has character and soul, and should be reserved by guests with both.

The breakfast served each morning was satisfying, with a good selection of items to choose from, catering to different tastes. The accommodation met our expectations in every way. The room was clean and well-kept, offering a comfortable and pleasant environment throughout our stay. Overall, we were very pleased and would gladly return.

Verified reviewThis has to be one of the best B and B's we have stayed in, the owners are brilliant, extremely welcoming, a lovely demeanour about them. Nothing is to much trouble, and the quality of the breakfast is outstanding. We stayed in the small apartment and breakfast was served to us, a great variety and the homemade element of the breakfast was delicious.
To be honest there was nothing to dislike, our only issue was the spiral stair case, which I can imagine would be difficult for the older generation, but once we got the knack of it, it was not to bad.
