How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewExcellent location as it is close to bus stop and St Julian centre where all the shops, restaurants and night life. Facilities were also well equipped and the pool was very nice
Laundry services could provide a dryer as there is only washing machine but not a dryer

Verified reviewBeautiful facility very clean, great location with swimming pool. I was in a women's room with 10 beds but very spacious with two showers inside, each bed with its own curtains to allow privacy to all great location for young people who want to easily reach party places, but also very close to the beach, , very close bus services to reach different places in Malta. Kitchen and the common areas, spacious and spotlessly clean

Verified reviewFriendly, accommodating staff. They offer luggage storage while waiting for check-in and you can use the facilities, common areas and the pool while waiting. Rooms are well air-conditioned with privacy in each bed. All Areas were clean. The use of the kitchen was also convenient and they made sure things were organised. Location was perfect. Really pleasant hostel.
No shampoos/body wash. Breakfast buffet could be better with price. But overall great hostel still. I would still stay again.

I wish the water dispenser in front of the hostel would work. Also the lockers are kinda hard to get to because the beds are close together.

The wifi didn't work properly, I only have the wifi working in the living room at the entrance, didn't worked inside the room neither in the pool area, slow signal and very annoying trying to get connected

A paper should be placed in every room saying that silence must be maintained after 11 p.m. Doors should be opened and closed slowly so that others are not disturbed.

Verified reviewLovely hostel, rooms are very clean and beds very comfortable. Common areas beautifully decorated and lots of space and to sit and relax, both inside and out. Pool, gardens, pool bar and cafe are nice and the location is great just a few minutes walk to Ballutta Bay, cafes, restaurants, shops and bus routes but when you are at the hostel, it's a haven of peace. Definitely recommend!!
Only one small thing but checking in took a while (the room wasn't ready).

Verified review10/10 across the board! Firstly the staff are amazing, I was injured during my stay and all of them made me feel comfortable and were super helpful. The facilities are incredible, fully equipped kitchen (even has a blender and rice cooker), large common area, really nice pool, a cafe and a bar, what more could you want?! Beds were comfy, curtains are always a win and each dorm set up was spacious and clean. Location is perfect, close to anything you could need!
Guests have full control over the aircon which is amazing but it can get super hot or cold depending on who is in the room and their preferences, during the summer you only get given a sheet as a blanket. I didn’t realise but you can ask reception for a doona if you get cold!!

Verified reviewGreat hostel. Extremely clean. Loved that the shower and toilet were seperate. Aircon in the room was a life saver. The common areas are really spacious. Breakfast in the morning was lovely - had boiled eggs, toast, ham/cheese, yoghurt, cereal, coffee/tea/juice, bit of veg, cakes and oranges. One of the best hostels I've stayed in.
Chickens next door were obnoxious in the morning but not much anyone can do about that, not the hostels fault. And there was some loud construction going on in the hostel which started before 8 in the morning. Wouldve been nice if they started it a bit later in the day.
