Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThe hotel is, of course, not new anymore and a bit worn in places. Many of its features and solutions feel like something from the last century. The swimming area in the sea is very small. Unfortunately, the beach is located right in a strait with heavy ship traffic, so the water is often polluted. You really have to be careful not to get dirty, as oil residues are difficult to wash off the skin. The air conditioner worked, but it was extremely loud, and when switching it off, it made some strange banging noises inside the system. The bathroom definitely needs renovation: the shower cannot be fixed in place properly, making it almost impossible to use comfortably, and the outdated shower curtain does nothing to keep the water from splashing out. We didn’t receive electronic key cards for our room because “the system was not working,” so we were given a metal key instead, which was inconvenient in every way. During the night once, the electricity went out on our floor and nobody seemed to notice. Only in the morning, after discovering that our phone was uncharged and there was no light in the bathroom, and after our calls to the reception, did a technician finally restore the power. As for the elevators – there are three of them, but they move extremely slowly, and sometimes it’s actually faster to take the stairs.
The location of the hotel is ideal for walking in the city center. Private underground parking is free. The breakfast selection is quite extensive, but there is often a line at the entrance to the hall, so you have to wait to be seated. Breakfast is served in a banquet-style hall, with tables that feel more suited for events such as weddings rather than a relaxed morning meal.

United KingdomBit old and damp in the room (lots of gold!!), poolside food and drink is expensive but good quality. Breakfast area is HUGE which feels very mass catering but food is good quality.
Don’t let the slightly outdated decor put you off. The staff here are fantastic - super welcoming, attentive and helpful when we arrived very late with a small baby. And the outdoor pool area is brilliant - panoramic views over the water, helpful poolside staff, tasty food with big portions. Location is fantastic for a walk or short car journey to the old town.

IrelandMaybe the bathroom was a little dated and the tv would be better is it was a smart tv. Minor things though.
From the entrance to the lobby to the bedroom - everything exceeded our expectations. It's classy in an old school way. Timeless. Our terrace was a real joy and the views were fantastic. All the staff we encountered were fabulous, engaging and efficient. Particular mention has to go to Jordan in the lobby. An absolute gentleman and always available and happy to help. He's part of the fabric of what makes this hotel what it is.

United KingdomThe outside could do with a lick of paint. Our shower leaked and we had to change room which was a bit of a hassle as we were there to celebrate a birthday. Confusing as to which bar to use when outside, we were often told we couldn’t use a certain bar where we were sitting and food not being available. Also no signage that a bar was closed due to a private party.
Excellent location, great views, lovely food and service. Nice touch of a complimentary bottle of wine and card for my wife’s birthday.

Germany1. The stairs in the inside pool cut my foot on the first day. I think it’s a big safety issue because I can see kids playing around. And it’s really weird to have such a sharp edge thing in the middle of the pool— it’s hard to see it when you are swimming without goggles. 2. When we checked out, we had to wait for a so long time. But when it was our turn, the staff of check-out Kasse was not there. Her colleague said we should go to the first one to check out. But when we just left, the staff came back. At that moment, an elderly lady cut in line. My friend pointed out that we had been waiting first, but she was rude. What upset us the most was that the staff, who clearly knew we had been there before, did nothing to stop her, nor did they explain or offer any assistance. We had already waited for over 40min. AND IT IS UNFAIR!
Nice location, most of staffs are professional and nice, great pools and a private sea swimming area.

United KingdomWe were told we had an inland view but we were looking out to a sheer wall do not consider this as inland. First morning there was a tractor outside our balcony delivering Totum Poles and again later in the day several huts arrived which then became our view. We thought service in pool area was poor at times having to wait some time for our drinks and food to arrive. Up to 1 hour on one occasion. Overheard someone else waited 2 hours. Similar in bar area where service was a little bit slow.
Breakfast very good, plenty of choice. Location was perfect. Room service ( cleaning etc) was very good.

AustraliaWe had a great stay, the room was large and spacious and we had a balcony view of the port. It's a nice walk to the restaurants and sightseeing/public transport. Also a shuttle is provided if the walk is too much. The Concierge helped us book tours. Fantastic pool.

United KingdomI witnessed a bit of racism at the end of my stay, the staffs in charge of breakfast showed some awkward attitudes towards me when i was approaching the dinning hall trying to force me to a particular place to have my breakfast which shouldn’t be like that.

AustraliaThe staff were so supportive and helpful. We loved the outdoor pools and the little beach option, plus the option to swim indoors, which we did on our first night because we arrived late.
We loved the location, it was nice and close to Valletta, 5 minute walk, plus the hotel provided shuttle service which was amazing on those hot days. We had a balcony room viewing the bay, which was so pretty.
