How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

WiFi didn’t reach the back room which I was staying at at all.

it’s very noisy at night and not as private as we would like. There was a lot of talking late at night and it kept us awake.

The private part of the accommodation was small (but as stated) and there was not much soundproofing.
The accommodation was exactly as described in the app. The room was comfortable and the common areas (kitchen) were well-equipped. The location right in the city center was perfect. The people who welcomed us were lovely and took the time to advise us on activities we could do depending on our time there.

The room was a bit dark even during daylight, as it only has a window to the inner courtyard. Wifi wasn't that reliable inside the room. Sometimes we had to sit in the common living room to access the internet.
The location is perfect. Just a few steps from the entrance of the major touristic attraction of Victoria, Cittadella, and also close to the main bus station. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. There was a kettle and tea bags/coffee. We particularly liked the friendly cat living in the apartment.

Just that the room was quite small but still had everything we needed.
Perfect location, just minutes walk and you are in the heart of rabat.

Needs some soundproofing in rooms.
Friendly host with some incitfull tips for tour itineraries. I felt welcome in their home. The location is perfect for getting around gozo as it's close to the bus station. Excellent value for money.

Excellent location 👏 close to main attractions, restaurants, and bus station - vik was helpful with what to do on gozo. It's worth staying at least a couple of nights on gozo.

Property very close to Cittadella. Room had AC and T.V. ours was a short stay and being a family of 4, the bedroom was comfortable. The person taking care of the property was very welcoming and offered their help whenever we needed something.

Friendly and very helpful owner. Gave us some excellent suggestions for places to eat and things to do. Location is fantastic. We also had the use of their kitchen, and especially appreciated being able to use the fridge.

The towels had a lingering smell of cigarettes.

- No natural light as the one small window opens onto small inner courtyard. - Noise travels a lot from the shared spaces to the room, and vice versa. - Wifi was unreliable. - Nowhere to dry towels.
- Incredible location, 1 min away from Citadel and restaurants/bars/town centre/bus station. - Lovely owner sat down with us to show us interesting places to visit on the island. She was very generous, friendly and welcoming. - Nice sized room with all the facilities we needed. - Well equipped shared kitchen in the owner's home, shared with the owner, the other guests, as well as 3 lovely cats.

The room was cute and comfortable, the B&B is perfectly located in Victoria, close to the citadel and many nice restaurants (which the host recommended) on the central square. Communication with Vittoria was great, she was very accommodating and helpful, check-in was a breeze. Parking is possible within a few min walk. Overall good, recommended!

Vittoria was really helpful and friendly. The chech-in procedure was easy, and she was waiting for us at the afternoon. She also recommend us restaurants and where to go in the city, and proposed how to spend the day in Gozo, to see the best monuments. There is the option for breakfast, you can just ask her, for extra cost. The Gozo island is beautiful, so i would suggest you to spend some days there!
