How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewNothing wrong with the room/en suite - clean, well maintained, comfy beds, good aircon, hairdryer, tv etc. Staff were friendly. Location convenient - restaurants and bars close by, small beach opposite. Pool was saltwater and deep, but if loud music is not your thing then lounging poolside is not so relaxing. Altogether, a Great place for teenagers, not so for anyone else.
We were not familiar with the area at the time of booking. Personally I would not stay in this location again. Good place for teenagers whose aim is to go out all night every night. We stayed 4 nights over the weekend and managed to get some sleep eventually on the Thursday and Sunday nights (2am) but both Friday and Saturday nights the constant music being pumped out of the nearby beach clubs throughout the night meant we did not manage to fall asleep until 5am regardless of time we went to bed! Our room had a partial sea view but this meant our room was right at the front facing the road/beach and the beach clubs. The hotel itself was reasonable. I just wish the ‘garden’ aspect was maintained more….the trees could do with some light pruning and the plants are not looked after any more (in my humble opinion). Could look prettier with minimal effort.

The room was 4 separate beds and not adpated to for a Family as described. The appliances, AC, bathroom were either broken or degraded. We have asked to change as it was below any standard. The toilets in the lobby were dirty due to students nigthlife surrounding. The Hotel management never replied and even to Booking.com Customer relations. This hotel shall be réserves for Adults only and adapted for Family or even normal tourists.

Verified reviewExcellent location! Beach by just crossing the road Parasols and sun loungers 5 euros each from a little shop to rent on the left side of the beach
Im not complaining, but if i had to pick one fault... id just wish that some of the garden was trimmed a little so we could have actually seen view of the sea , as it was a sea view room ...but we could only see approx 10% of the sea...but again...not a complaint or moan...we were still very happy

Verified reviewThe property was very close to paceville, and shops which was good for us as a we were on a girls trip.
The hotel had very little facilities, the rooms didn’t have a fridge, a phone, bedside table. Whenever the rooms were cleaned everyday it was never hoovered, and our bathroom always smelt of rotten sewage.

Verified reviewPool was nice, easy access to beach. This is a definitely a party hotel and right near the strip, noisy at all hours of the night. Great if you’re just there to party but wouldn’t recommend for families or light sleepers!
Noisy, staff were nice enough to change our room for us but there was a weird damp smell. Facilities are basic, No mini fridge / kettle

Verified reviewLocation is very convenient at the heart of San Julians Bay, in front of the beach, surrounded by good restaurants, ice cream shops, cafes, and bars.
The breakfast offered with the stay was very simple, and some of the food looked like from the day before. I only had breakfast at the hotel on the first day, and then I preferred to go to an outside cafe and get a proper breakfast.

It was complete disaster. Room did not look like on the pictures. Got a new room which was slightly better , but not even close to worth the money. The walls looked horrible. The doors did not close correctly. We arriver in the room with no towels at all. The balcony in the first room looked line a construction. Very noisy hotel guests. It seemed like a youth hostel. You could not sleep in the night because the walls were so thin you could here everything. Girls screamed in the middle of the night. Receptionist did not see this as a problem and said he can do nothing about it. In the middle of the night someone knocked permanently on our door. The floor was very dirty full of crumbles everywhere. The bed sheets were dirty as the shower was really disgusting. This hotel should not be on a website like booking.de. It is not even close to 3 stars.

Verified reviewI don’t usually leave negative reviews, but our experience at Beachgarden Hotel in Malta was so appalling that I feel obligated to warn others. We had booked three rooms (two quads and one double) and were all equally horrified by what we found: 1. Filthy Conditions: This was by far the dirtiest accommodation I’ve ever seen. There were bugs everywhere, the bathrooms had visible mold, and the bedsheets were stained — including lipstick marks, which clearly shows they weren’t changed. Absolutely disgusting. 2. Misleading Advertising: The rooms looked nothing like the photos. On top of that, they gave us rooms that were not even in the main hotel — they were a bit of a walk away, completely different from what we booked. 3. Broken Facilities: Windows didn’t open properly — some were even broken. Not only was this a safety concern, but it also made the lack of air circulation unbearable. 4. Rude, Dishonest Staff: When we went to the reception to express our concerns, we were met with sarcasm and disrespect from the staff. One of them, named Hassan, laughed at us and offered no help whatsoever. They claimed the hotel was fully booked and couldn’t move us, yet we saw availability on Booking while standing there — so they clearly lied. When we asked to speak to a manager, we were mocked and told it wasn’t possible. 5. No Basic Amenities: In the middle of the blazing Malta summer, there was no fridge in the room to keep water cold — and the air conditioning didn’t work. It was like staying in an oven. I have stayed in budget accommodations before, but this was beyond unacceptable. Between the dirty environment, broken amenities, and unprofessional, mocking staff, this place completely ruined part of our holiday. Avoid this hotel. Don’t fall for the misleading photos and fake promises. You deserve better.

There’s no lift, if you have heavy luggage is very difficult to take upstairs to the room.
