How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewStaff were friendly. Location is good. Food at the restaurant was excellent. View from the room was good too.
The room was very small, with the sink in the bedroom and cramped shower and toilet cubicles. For the price, I was disappointed—five-star hotels nearby cost less than half and at least three times the size of the room. Reception refused to cancel my second night, so I moved to a five-star property instead. Overall, it felt overpriced and disappointing

Verified reviewCharming place, but customer care could be much better.
For starters, some lights didn't work in my room, but I still would have given a 9 as the place is great, but things went really not so good with my transfer to the airport. The evening before my departure I asked the reception if they could arrange a taxi for me to go to a shop first and after 5-10 minutes to the airport. First the receptionist told me that it is not possible to arrange it for 08.45am as they only have cars later. Uhhh, what?? I went for dinner and when I got back to the hotel, he told me that he can arrange it but I have to pay cash in advance, as of in that moment, then he put the money in a drawer, gave me no proof of payment even when I asked for it and ensured me it will be all fine. He wrote down the name and phone number of the driver on a small piece of paper (I speak no Burmese, most people nothing elae but Burmese so what's the use?) and told me he would leave word with the morning receptionist. The taxi came a bit later than expected and it was a 30-year-old car with no air-conditioning so we travelled through the thick morning traffic and to the airport with all windows open, a nightmare really as I was a unwell (from something I drank). On arrival at the airport, I didn't reach the restrooms and threw up in a trash bin. In my book, a hotel should be able to arrange decent taxis for clients and not this way.

Verified reviewFirstly, the very friendly and helpful staff. They helped me with a lot of queries - I had a many because this was my first time in Yangon/Myanmar.The room I had was very clean and modern, & well decorated. The chef was exceptional so the restaurant meals were great. Breakfast was fine and the service fast and efficient. The hotel has a lovely positive vibe - everyone had a smile and a 'hello', room cleaning staff too - much appreciated by me. The location of the hotel is convenient too. Finally, the hotel charges were very reasonable and represented very good value for money :)
Nothing.

I liked everything!

Verified reviewBreakfast was great, with Western and Asian menu options, and varied during our stay. The bar and restaurant downstairs were excellent. The staff was very helpful. They booked lunch for us on the boat. The location is close to the Scott Market and Sule Pagoda. There is a taxi at the entrance most of the time if you need to go somewhere.
Nothing. Maybe it was a bit pricey for Yangon, but overall, it was an excellent experience.

Verified reviewGood hotel with exceptionally helpful staff. Close to train station and walking distance to Shwedagon Pagoda. Very good Western restaurant on-site serving excellent food. We had dinner there twice. Good breakfast made to order. We had an early flight, so we were given breakfast boxes when we checked out.
The room was rather small but sufficient for a short stay. Only one coffee is included with breakfast.

Verified reviewThis is really a quality hotel with great rates and service. The restaurant/ bar is exceptional ...even with patio tables. The happy hour is a welcome after long day of touring.
Yangon and the Country has economics problems so once you a few blocks from hotel you will see desperate Folks. You are very safe!!!! But be ready to see certain realities.
