Honestly the stay was lovely. My only comment may be on the bedding - they only have a sheet, or a light quilt in the closet, versus a complete duvet. It wasn’t an issue since Montenegro is so hot and the bed was comfortable as is but there’s something about a duvet that adds to the luxury if the hotel was open to ideas. I would also say they didn’t have toiletries like shampoo and conditioner, just the combo gel+shampoo. Both very minor things but only mentioning if they wanted something to look into adding!

Hotel was everything we could ask for - impeccably clean, with a private beach and high caliber restaurant with doting staff. They parked our car for us the moment we arrived, showed us to our beautiful room with a stunning view of the bay and the rest was seamless. We ate at the restaurant for nearly every meal as it was so on point, and the private beach made our entire experience completely care free.

There could have been a coffee machine in the rooms.

We were warmly welcomed when we first arrived at the hotel. The gentleman who took our car to the parking lot and then brought our luggage was very kind. Our room was new, clean, and had a sea view. A bed was prepared for our daughter. We had an issue with the discount offered to hotel guests at dinner, but Peter made us forget all about it. Without Peter, they wouldn’t have received this rating from us. He was very attentive and solution-oriented. Thank you again, Peter!

Some things to improve even further: add sun shades on the roof top, jacuzzi not fully working, beach could use a daily clean up, add better hair dryer and higher quality bathroom ammenities such as shampoo etc

There was nothing that would make us rate our stay less than a 10, but we do have a few pointers for Hotel Riva and future guests. If you’re coming by car, the road to get to the hotel isn’t clearly marked on Google maps and it took us a bit of searching to find a small side road leading to the hotel. There were no signs from the main road, which made it a bit tricky. We would recommend that Hotel Riva put at least a small sign pointing visitors who come by car to the side road where they can enter. Additionally, I got a massage in my room, but personally cannot recommend it. I didn’t feel that the masseuse was very professional and it seemed like he was bored the whole time. I didn’t truly get to relax, which not exactly what you want during a massage. That was the only disappointing thing about our stay. Lastly, during the high season, it’s a bit noisy on some evenings. Sunday was very quiet but Saturday night was bustling and our window was right above the promenade. It wasn’t an issue for us, but good to note if you are visiting during the high season and are concerned about noise. Some earplugs solved it for us.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The staff, especially dear Anna, were super friendly and really went out of their way to welcome us. Anna arranged everything that we requested and more with a friendly smile and clear passion for hospitality. Thanks to her, we first got a free upgrade to a room with a sea view, which was truly the highlight of our stay! We enjoyed the balcony and waking up every morning to the sound of the ocean. Not only was Anna helpful when we requested it, but she was pro-active in her attentiveness. For example, on our last day, we had requested a late check out at 11:00, and around 10:00 she called up to our room to let us know we could take our time and check out at 11:30 if needed. It was this kind of attention to guests that really sets Anna apart - what a star! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the convenience of being right on the beach was great. The breakfast had lots of options including almond milk available for those of us who are vegan/lactose-intolerant. The guy who manages the restaurant/breakfast was also extremely friendly and helped my boyfriend bring coffees up to our balcony one morning. We really appreciated that extra touch of hospitality! Although there’s no gym at the hotel, one of the kind staff rang a nearby hotel to ask about a day pass for my boyfriend. She gave him directions to the other hotel and explained in detail how to reach the hotel from the restaurant on the promenade. Overall, we really loved the attention and kindness of the staff and highly recommend staying here!

Friendly recommendation: Maybe a bigger sign can be put for directions to the hotel within Petrovac. I have missed the road at my first time 🙈

Hotel staff were extremely helpful & friendly (from reception to kitchen). Room was clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is remarkable, there is no parking problem. Even when we check out hotel staff provided cold water as a gesture. Very hospitable and trustworthy facility.

Riva was perfect. We stayed in the Presidential Suite for 7 days with our son and girlfriend. The space was great for this mix. The hot tub was used at least once a day. Bedrooms were sizeable and I don't think the pictures do them justice. The outdoor space was fantastic. I hadn't thought we would use both terraces but we ate at the rear one when it was a bit windy at the front. We didn't cook in the kitchen, only having cold meals, but everything was provided should we have decided to do so. The front terrace with the hot tub was also the perfect place for a game of cards and glass of wine after our evening meal. The location was a real treat. The private area of the beach made the experience much more pleasant than it may have ben in the public areas. Petrovac is in a beautiful bay with plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. Unexpectedly there was also a range of watersports available. We flew into Podgorica so the transfer time of under an hour was also good. We enjoyed a very extensive breakfast in the terrace restaurant every morning and ate there for 2 evenings. The evening meals were superb. Staff were, without exception, excellent. Peter, the owner, went above and beyond in every aspect and always with a smile. We cannot praise the hotel enough. I am sure I have missed something but would return without hesitation.

Exceeded All Expectations! Our overall impression of this hotel far exceeded our expectations. The renovation is beautiful, the rooms are spotless, everything feels brand new, and the interior design is excellent. The hotel is located right on the seafront, with its own private beach and incredibly comfortable mattresses on the sun loungers – a real treat. What impressed us most, however, was the service. People make your business, and your team is outstanding. The reception staff are welcoming, polite, and genuinely open – they made us feel safe and at home in a new country, as if we were long-time returning guests. The staff don’t focus on restrictions or limitations — they look for solutions. Everything was done to make our stay as comfortable as possible. From organizing activities to helping us navigate the area and even assisting with parking — this was by far the best hotel staff experience we’ve ever had. The restaurant service is also exceptional: adaptive staff, wide food selection, and superb attention to guests. You truly feel welcomed and valued here — like you genuinely matter as a guest. We are beyond impressed, especially with the people who work here. You are a real team, and the incredible level of service is thanks to you. Well done!

Hotel location is impressive. It is situated directly on a main pedestrian street and it has its own private beach. Breakfast is excellent and it is served on the terrace overlooking the sea. The staff is amazing - from the moment I arrived until my departure, every interaction was met with genuine warmth, professionalism, and an eagerness to assist.

First of all , I would like to thank all the staff for their kindness and care , everyone has been very attentive and hospitable towards us. The room ( sea view with the balcony ) was amazing , very clean and spacious. Recommend using the restaurant downstairs for your lunch or evening meal and breaksfast especially on the terrace overlooking the sea. We also had help with the parking as it wasn't very easy to find on Google maps , recommend contacting hotel beforehand so you will know which turn to take . Would love to come back !

The crew would do anything to please the guest, I have never seen such level of hospitality. The hotel itself - placed phenomenally at the sea side, super big rooms, clean and cosy. Tasty and rich breakfasts served with care and attention to details. Thank you for a great stay!
