How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Rooms are a bit outdated, a lot of broken things (small handles and etc.). There might be noise from the street so beware.
Good location next to the port/coast - walking distance. Great breakfast selection.

Our first room had a smell of cigarette smoke, but the lovely staff immediately moved us to a different room with no issues at all.
The location was great, the room was clean and well-equipped, and above all – the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We really appreciated the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We liked everything except that the hotel has two access points, one through the stairs from the main street and another one through the park. It would be helpful to tell guests with heavy luggage to go through the park.
Excellent location, right in the city center and close to Porto Montenegro and the beaches, large room with comfortable beds and very good breakfast. Reception staff as well as the manager were very helpful and friendly. We felt like at home.

I didn’t like the fact that the power keeps going on and off, though not the hotel’s fault… Also the WiFi was too poor.
I like the fact that it’s at the centre of the city, close to everywhere really and easily accessible.

Room had a slight smell of smoke
The staff were amazing - we had a flight cancelled so turned up early to hotel - they couldn’t do enough for us - gave us a room upgrade - even let us have breakfast on arrival instead of the next day because we would be leaving early

The room was so cold even though I turned off the air conditioner.
The staff were amazing and very helpful! They upgraded my room to a bigger one. I felt very safe as a solo woman traveler.

Some facilities and ac in the corridor is not that great but overall- doesnt really change anything, still over all good
The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Nevena who was almost always there in the reception. The property was also very near most places in tivat, the beach and the bus stop to everywhere. I also appreciate that they were able to give me a good room with sea view

Location is great. The hotel is within a walking distance to the sea side and the port. Staff was helpful during the check-in process by upgrading the room. Breakfast was also good enough. The buffet was not limited as mentioned in some comments..

The clean and cozy hotel with a great location in the city center. The air infused with the sea and blooming plants is enough to make you fall in love with Tivat. However, the best impressions of the place are created by its people. We're really grateful for the Magnolia Place personnel, especially Nevena, the receptionist. She was very nice, helpful, and friendly, always welcoming us with a warm smile and greeting. The room cleaning lady was brilliant and thoughtful (unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to ask her name). Thanks a lot to these wonderful people for making me smile when I remember my mini-vacation in Tivat!

Wardrobes in room needs maintenance (doors were difficult to close), lift was out of order for most of the stay.

Breakfast wasn't that great. Hot food was all lukewarm. Ok overall but not a huge amount of choice. The free dinner was ok but not outstanding. Lift out of service and no help with suitcases.
Great customer service, upgraded to apartment. Free dinner given to us as the lift wasn't working - appreciated the 'apology'. Good beds, clean room, good facilities. Helpful friendly staff. Good location walking distance to beach. Nice decor. A wellness centre (but we didn't visit it).

I did not like that the room was carpeted and the breakfast was same food everyday,
Specially The staff are so friendly and helpful moreover that location is closer to city center and beaches
