How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe place is beautiful, it’s a unique experience in the nature, very quiet place, the sky full of stars in the night and fresh air in the morning.
The internet is slow, which is important because in the mountains there’s no signal. No card payment available.

Credit card is for option for small business like ours. We tried to have it, cause very complicated procedure and conditions unfortunately is not possible at this moment. once more thanks for being our guests.

Verified reviewThe area is beautiful. The owner is super informed about Durmitor National Park. Great traditional breakfast. Upon request they cook dinner for you and its wonderful. Main owner helpful with booking pizzas at 1030pm as we were hungry when we arrived and everywhere was closing.
The rooms are a bit crude and spacing is limited but if you want to experience a traditional house of Montenegro thats exactly how it is. This was in fact where the owner used to live for some years. Once I learnt that I appreciated the property much more. In the 4 bedroom house the bedrooms upstairs have no bathroom and there is not enough proper storage space.
Dear Celine. Thank you for the nice review. The house itself is beautiful in its own way. Unfortunately, some parts are not fully comfortable. But it has 2 bathrooms, four rooms, and lots of sitting areas. Together with the kitchen, living room , and terrace, house has 20 sittings.

Verified reviewI'm not sure what I expected when booking this place, but I definitely don't have any major complaints! Breakfast was yummy, the area around the chalet was nice to walk around. It was cozy, peaceful and quiet. We didn't do everything we planned to in Durmitor because it rained quite a bit during our stay, but it felt like a nice ski-town with a "family" vibe. The dinner we asked the hosts to prepare for us was also phenomenal. There were only 2 of us in the chalet and we had more than enough space, although more would also easily fit upstairs. There were also more than enough towels, blankets and cutlery. Finally, I can't say enough nice things about the responsiveness of the hosts. Thank you for the hospitality!
The bathroom smelled a little after a while, probably because there isn't a lot of ventilation, but we managed.
Dear guest, thank you for such an amazing and composed review. We really appreciate it. In summer due to high heat or rain odor can come and go. It's something no one can do about. Usually we have very good ventilation and a septic system.

Verified reviewWe loved being slightly away from the busier areas, and being able to walk out of our door right onto the foothills and the road heading up to Durmitor. The cabin was so warm and comfortable and the swing out the front very relaxing! We were also adopted by a gorgeous local dog.
The attic ladder up to the bedroom was borderline for us - still very fit but a bit risky if going down to the loo during the night!

Verified reviewThe location is exceptionally good: on the crossroads of the two panoramic roads. The town is 5 mins ride where you can get the groceries, fill the bank, etc. The view is stunning, waking up and seeing this beauty is unbelievable. The accommodation is warm, with many kitchen appliances, I have nothing bad to say about it.
The breakfast could've been better (for example, there were no eggs) and relatively late: 8.30. But that's mostly nitpicking.

The internet connection was too bad for usage. The hot water ran out after 10 minutes of shower, leaving 3 of us waiting for the water to heat back again.

Verified reviewThe location is perfect. The view is stunning. The host is helpful and friendly. We had breakfast and dinner and it was very tasty. There are all the basic things in the kitchenet. There is a fireplace and a heater. You are close to the mountains.
We stayed at the Superior Chalet, the villa itself was not so comfortable. It was dirty :( A lot of dust and dirty floors. There is no handrail on the stairway to go to the second floor, a bit scary to use, especially if you want to go to the bathroom at night witch is on the first floor and the bedroom on the second floor. The shower is very uncomfortable, you have to hold the shower head because nowhere to hang it. Also no shelf to put your soap/shampoo in the shower. And the bathroom has a very bad smell.
