It is about 10 min to the beach from the hotel, but be prepared for the steps :-)

I stayed for two nights at Cruso Hotel in Herceg Novi, Montenegro, and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained, the rooms are comfortable, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and I’d like to give special thanks to Ivan for his exceptional service and providing many interesting information about the country. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay here and took advantage of the beach club. All staff were extremely friendly. Kitchen needs a bit more in the way of utensils but we found it very handy.

The staff is great, warm welcome and good byes. The breakfast is ok as for our taste. For a decent price they make a good cappuccino for you. The hotel is on the main road and does not have rooms facing the backside (the mountains). The rooms on the side of the building are also not very quiet. The rooms on the first floor on the sides are dark and facing the wall. The apartments themselves are newly renovated. The furniture items though do not match the room size. A huge table for 4 people, a huge coffee table and an armchair take half of the space. It is not possible to open the sofa bed in the living room at night because of that.

We could not use the oven as the electricity went off once we turned it on.

The breakfast was quite nice and had lots of options. The staff was attentive. The view was lovely. The roof top pool area was great except the chaises and the step to the pool was breaking apart and splintering off and in need of repair as it was borderline a hazard.

Our first evening we noticed a significant leak from the ceiling onto the bed. Luckily we noticed before we went out for the evening, otherwise it could have been a real disaster. As it was they had to move us to a lower quality room for the night. The best they could offer was the difference in what we paid for the superior room and the next day a beverage on the house, in spite of this being a fairly significant inconvenience as we could not enjoy our accommodation fully. We found the bedding to be quite scratchy and did ask for a sheet which helped. The bar menu was great except when we requested certain drinks they were not actually available ( a prosecco, a pina colada...). Also, there is a lot of road noise that could be heard while sitting on the balcony.

    Property response:

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, despite our team’s best efforts to resolve the situation swiftly and professionally. As we explained during your stay, the leak in your room was caused by an unexpected flooding incident from the room directly above, and unfortunately, such unforeseen technical issues can happen in hotels around the world, no matter how much care is taken. As soon as the issue was identified, our maintenance staff came during the night and worked diligently to ensure the problem was resolved as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we offered you an alternative suite to sleep in for the night. While the room had a different view, it was still a suite-level accommodation, and we did our best to ensure your comfort. Although this incident was beyond our control, we decided to go a step further by covering the full cost of the difference between the rooms ourselves — in fact, we paid more than DOUBLE the rate difference — as a gesture of goodwill. We are truly disappointed to receive such a negative review, especially considering the effort and urgency with which our team responded to make your stay as pleasant as possible under the circumstances. Nonetheless, we sincerely thank you for your feedback and wish you all the best in your future travels. Kind regards, Aleksandra General Manager

The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating - especially Ljliana, who worked at reception. The breakfast was delicious, and they have a nice pool on the rooftop. We didn't end up spending time on their private beach, but we walked by and it looked really nice (chairs and towels are provided).

The hotel is on a main street, so it can be a bit challenging to cross it to go down to old town.

Great location, 20 min walk to old town along beach promenade. Lovely breakfast and really sweet staff. Very comfy bed. Shame no air con in bedroom.

The pool has bird poo on the sides for the whole 2 days we were there. there were no staff to get you a drink at the pool during the day - you had to go down 4 floors to reception and even then there were no bar staff on shift until the eve. Staff did bring a drink up but it seemed like an effort having said initially they couldn’t do it.

Super clean with a very good breakfast! But the best part was the pool with the view and the sauna. We went in the beginning of May, and we’re still able to swim a little under a hot sun, even though it’s isn’t heated.

    The doors aren’t completely soundproof.

Garni Hotel Kruso offers impressively clean rooms that come equipped with small kitchenettes and all the basic utensils—a nice touch even for guests like myself who didn't plan to cook. The breakfast, while somewhat limited in options, proved perfectly adequate to start the day. I particularly appreciated the availability of garage parking, a valuable amenity in Montenegro. The staff demonstrated consistent helpfulness throughout my stay, ready to assist with any needs. Another convenient feature was the elevator access from the parking garage directly to the lobby and guest rooms, making luggage transport effortless.

The parking situation in the garage reflected the broader Montenegrin parking culture—chaotic and frustrating. Local guests parked with little regard for others, creating situations where I couldn't even access my own vehicle without staff assistance. While this disorderly parking approach seems common throughout Montenegro, the hotel should implement stricter measures to prevent such chaos in their garage and ensure all guests have proper access to their vehicles.

For the price I wish it was a little closer to the beach. Did not realize it was located on the main road, always busy with traffic.
