How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Rudest staff, unhygienic toilets and no air flow in the rooms. No air conditioner or fan. Broken toilet doors. The receptionist tall guy(my be the owner) is one of the rudest i have seen. Specially, if you cant speak Russian or local language. Walk in and check your room and the cleanliness there, before booking online.

Verified reviewLocation was convenient
After travelling to 60 countries in 2 years, unfortunately found the worst hostel. Dont book this hostel without physical checking your accommodation facilities there. No air-conditioning, or fan in the rooms. Only one table Fan in the common lounge. Only people staying in the hostel are refugees from ukraine, long term stay. Personally saw 3 or 4 customers walking out after checking the living conditions in 2 days. Toilet door lock is broken and anyone can walk in anytime. Also, if you are a non russian or local language speaker, be ready to receive rude behaviour from the receptionist guy and other staff. No one can speak english.

Verified reviewThe location is central. Places of interest for tourists, for business, for students, are all very accessible on foot or by boarding public transportation at stops one or two minutes from the hostel. Several grocery stores, cafe's, dining, money exchange, are only one minute walking distance from the hostel. Two outdoor seating areas offer ample space for occasionally lazy hostel guests. The kitchen areas are functional. Laundry machine & service is offered with outdoor lines for drying. Keep in mind, this is a travelers hostel and it is in a very convenient location for a hostel.

Verified reviewIt's cheap and the bed is comfortable.
The hostel was very dirty and poorly maintained, with a dark atmosphere and a suffocating smell that made it difficult to breathe. The bathroom was full of hair and clearly not cleaned regularly, while the kitchen was filthy and unhygienic. The whole place felt neglected and uncomfortable — I would not recommend staying here.

Verified reviewThe only thing I liked it was the location.
Room looked like a warehouse. Toilet was so dirty and no toilet paper even. And the sheets doubtfully were not clean.

Verified reviewThe location is literally right across from the city center. Markets and restaurants are less than a five minute walk away. There is a patio area to relax in on sunny days.
There was another guest who was very rude and evil. He said very mean and crude things in the Russian language. But it is something that cannot be controlled or predicted when staying at a hostel. Situations can be random.

Verified reviewI location is very good and almost at the city center
The bathroom are the place is not good and the there are few people who are living longer there more like a person who works and they cook there and spoil the kitchen place making it not nice to eat. The washrooms are literally dirty and I have seen cockroaches and the people who live there pee with the toilet seat down which makes it harder to clean everytime we poo. The toilet paper is very poor quality and there is no shower gel provided.

Verified reviewPoor. And for the price? Even worse. No toilet paper, no soap. It smells bad in the female room (one lady LIVES there, there are her stuff everywhere and she also eats in the room), no daily cleaning, a lot of hair on the floors everywhere. Also the lady snores like a bear at night and speaks by the phone in the room during the day. +Uncomfortable bed:(
Hello, somehow it’s not clear if it’s so bad why go back to where it’s bad, is there common sense in this???

Verified reviewIt is right across the main park of the city and has walking distance to many places you’d want to visit. Also the price is very good and the bed was comfortable.
The place was very dirty. I didn’t even want to brush my teeth in there. People, who were usually not the traveller type in a bas way, were very loud even in the middle of the night around 3am. There was no lock to the door. We weren’t given a key and the door was literally open for everybody. Lastly, there were no plugs to charge our devices.

Verified review1. Excellent location, hardly 5min walk to the Metropolitan Cathedral and all the points of interest from there. 2. Decent kitchen facilities good enough to make simple meals. 3. Also has the washing machine for your use. 4. Wifi works well.
1. Staff couldn't speak English at all, communicating was an issue. 2. It's a big room with 4 bunk beds, adjoining the kitchen. Very tiny common space in the kitchen and is very quiet. Hard to talk to anyone on the phone without disturbing others. Definitely can't take work meetings/calls. In summers you can move to the outdoor area though. 3. One of the toilets was dirty most of the time while the other was good enough. 4. On one of the nights, one of the men got drunk and he was so loud until about 1am in the night that I could hardly sleep.
