How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewMy stay was absolutely wonderful. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed like family. Hmoud, his wife, and their son are incredibly kind and warm-hearted people. The house is very clean and comfortable, and every morning they brought me a delicious breakfast. Their hospitality made me feel at ease and truly cared for. I will definitely come back again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic experience.
Everything was good

Verified reviewThe owners are friendly. They let me leave my bag until I caught the 2pm bus. The apartment has so much potential, it has just been left to deteriorate and desperately needs a renovation. Especially the bathroom. See photos. The owners in the reviews say that the building is historic and can't be renovated But the building has various doctors suites which have been renovated. Normally no restrictions exist for renovating inside apartments.
What travelers need is a nice room, a hot shower, a clean bathroom, locks on bedroom doors, A/C and a good breakfast. This place has none of these!!!. During trip I stayed at 38 properties. This was the worst. During my stay here I could not believe this guesthouse's high rating. When you leave the owners are very super friendly and ask guests to leave a good review. That’s why they have a high rating! Yes the owners are friendly, but they hovered too much. It has only one bathroom for 3 guestrooms!!!!. The only bathroom was a disgrace. See attached photos!!! Mouldy, dirty shower/bath, The shower goes cold at random times. They warn you about it, but maybe fix the problem, not just warn you!!! The bedrooms do not have locks on their doors. This is a min std especially for women. They have a long list of rules which I have attached. Some are over the top. Once again it is a guesthouse. The rules do not appear on booking.com. After asking if I could put something in the refrigerator, the owners told me I could not put 2 small beers in and I couldn’t drink alcohol in the guesthouse as it was against his religion.(see rules) But he relented. As others have mentioned, the apartment is very old and needs to be renovated. The owners respond in the reviews that the building is historic and cannot be renovated, but it has a number of doctors’ suites in the building which are renovated and comfortable. The owners just need to spend some money and bring it up to standard. It’s not the 1960’s. As others have commented the breakfast was terrible. The second morning I asked for 2 raw eggs so I could cook, but he cooked them for me. Thanks. No A/C. My room was hot in May! I am sure they will write a long response attacking me, like they have for most guests leaving negative reviews (read a few!!!). However, I took photos of this place to back up this review which a lot of others did not. You make your own mind up from the photos.

Verified reviewMoud and Aouatif were very kind and welcoming, and they live with their lovely cats. They were very professional in explaining the house rules and giving clear directions to help avoid getting lost. I was even able to access the room before the official check-in time, and they kindly offered me a juice and a cold bottle of water for free. They also invited me to have breakfast with them. The room had everything needed for a comfortable stay; it was clean and spacious.
There was some noise from the café just below the room, especially during football matches, and it usually didn’t quiet down until around 11 p.m. If you close the window to block the noise, it gets a bit warm inside. Also, there was no hot water in the shower, so I ended up taking cold showers for two days, but I didn’t bring it up since I’m used to cold showers. Another thing to note: since it’s not a hotel or hostel, there’s no key for the room. You can lock it from the inside when you're in, but not from the outside when you go out. To be fair, the place felt secure and it’s not like a hotel where strangers come and go, but if you're someone who’s extra cautious, it’s something worth mentioning. Overall, the value for money was excellent!

Verified reviewMohamed and his wife are very kind and showed the hospitality and welcome typical of Moroccans. The apartment was wonderful, with an Andalusian Moroccan architectural style, of course, with a beautiful touch of books. I highly recommend it.
As I said, the place is beautiful and distinctive, but it needs special care, cleanliness, and re-adding an innovative, modern touch. Moaz, that place is very good.

Verified reviewStaying at the Tetouan house is like staying with an amazing host family. You get the privacy of your bedroom plus the social and cultural benefits of getting to be part of a great little household. The bedrooms are sizeable and clean, and Aoua makes sure you are not cold at night with lots of blankets and a hot water bottle. There are three lovely cats who will snuggle you if you want them to, but allergy-havers like me can also get personal space if need be. The family is eager to offer you food and drink even when they themselves are fasting during Ramadan, and Darija, Spanish, and French are all spoken in this household. As far as location, it’s a two minute walk to the medina or souk, and minimarts are everywhere. In sum, this place is a home—and an awesome one.
You are truly an inspiring and adventurous, having already traveled to four continents at such a young age. Beyond that, your intelligence and thoughtfulness shine through in everything you do. We deeply appreciate your commitment to fasting during Ramadan to experience it firsthand, as well as your kindness in preparing Iftar for our son and inviting him to join. The gift you gave was also very thoughtful, and we admire your strong sense of activism and your alignment with the values we hold dear.

Verified reviewMy stay at Tétouan House was very pleasant. The room was clean and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. I was particularly impressed by the warm welcome from the friendly and helpful family, who were always available to answer questions and offer recommendations. They were genuinely kind and always ready to assist. The Moroccan food was excellent. It offered a variety of local dishes that provided a wonderful start to the day and gave an authentic insight into Moroccan cuisine. A special highlight was the hotel's central location, which made it easy to explore the city and quickly reach the main attractions. Everything needed for a pleasant vacation can be found here. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would definitely choose this hotel again for a future visit to Tétouan.
