How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery friendly and helpful service, always reachable. Location is great - taxi accessible, and you can walk right in the Medina. Good checkin experience. Offers laundry service for a fair price.
Noisy area, all night noise and motorcycles driving around. Smelly - if you open the window, it always smells badly like old fat from the place next door. Hot water works often not, only after asking for new gas. Annoying when you stand naked in the shower. The shower drain doesn't work well so the whole bathroom gets flooded, AC didn't heat - nasty on a cold day.

Verified reviewThe location is great!!! It is right before the entry which is great because you don’t have to carry your luggage up the hills haha A lot of restaurants near by and the price is cheap!! Only the hot shower is not really working, just warm the staff tried to fixed it for us, but the shower still just warm. The room is cozy tho Thank you for making our stay so special. My highlight if the place is their living room super cute and stylish ❤️

Verified reviewIt was a lovely colorful hotel, yards from a gate into the old city. The owner was helpful, welcoming and informative. The terrace and communal breakfast room were a delight, particularly the bright decoration. This is a strictly non-smoking hotel, good to know in town with a liberal attitude to the local brands. The restaurant next door had a former NYC top restaurant chef in residence cooking beautiful dishes at very reasonable price (the sole was OMG). Chefchouen’s quaint and welcoming bar and wine store is a six-minute walk.
It was all ok

Verified reviewThey have a magnifique terrace with a view, and the location is right outside the medina. It is also accessible by car.
The room had a lot of dust, and being allergic does not help. It can get pretty noisy because its located next to a busy street. No hot showers and wifi is super slow. The shower floor was nasty .I had asked for a hand towel and a foot towel, but they asked me to go to my room and they’ll bring it but never did, this happened twice. That was a bit disappointing because they could’ve at-least informed me that they do not want to give those to me directly.
You got jut what did you paid

Verified reviewI recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Sakura, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was struck by its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel's location is excellent, situated in the heart of the city, within walking distance to many popular attractions. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, with all the necessary amenities, including a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a private bathroom. What truly sets Hotel Sakura apart, however, is its exceptional staff. From the friendly front desk team to the attentive housekeeping staff, everyone was warm, welcoming, and eager to help. Even assisted us and took us personally to a local good restaurant Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel Sakura to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming place to stay. Its excellent location, comfortable rooms, and exceptional staff make it a true hidden gem in the heart of the city.

Verified reviewThe guys who run it are really friendly and helpful. The location is right near the medina gate so close to everything.
Unfortunately it wasn't the cleanest and was noisy both inside (renovations) and outside.

Verified reviewThe covered patio and rooftop patios are a great spot to get away from the crowds and hang out. Zaïd was super helpful with recommending places to eat, bank machine locations. He even leant me 300dhr when I couldn’t get cash out Of the bank machine. Turned out that I was able to find a machine that worked me my card.

Verified reviewThough I stayed here for 1 night, would say that this place is really beautiful and is just like right on the foothill of Blue City. You can witness a beautiful Sunset as well as Sunset from the terrace of this place. The rooms are really spacious with confortable bed and at affordable price. The best was the breakfast, lot of variety and was freshly made just like home. Was delicious and warm. Would totally recommend to stay at this beautiful Riad.
There is nothing you won't like about this place. everything was simply perfect.

Verified reviewI liked the location of the hotel and its design, which reflects the identity and lifestyle of the city of Chefchaouen. The brothers, Zaid and Ryan, are truly wonderful in their warm welcome , and they always show how happy they are to help us with any inquiries or offer advice on exploring the city. My car was scratched outside the hotel, and when I returned the next day, I was surprised to find that Zaid and Ryan had repaired the scratch. Many thanks to them!
