Decor was lovely, room spacious, good aircon and pristine but the thing that really makes Riad Tanja stand out are the fantastic staff. So friendly, charming and helpful. Location also superb for the souk, only a few minutes' walk and the marina. Also cafes with plenty going on for people-watching in the evening. Highly recommend

My family and I had an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, everyone was welcoming and accommodating right from the moment we checked in. The location was perfect, we could daily enjoy the vibrant life at the Medina. The breakfast was delicious! The Riad surpassed all our expectations! I highly recommend it for both solo travelers or a family.

The room was beautiful and spacious. We loved the style and some of the daily details, like the fresh flowers in the common areas. The location is great for exploring the city center. The hotel is within the old Medina, but is far enough from the busiest parts. This makes it nice and quiet. Just note that due to its location, there is a bit of walking and stairs from the taxi drop off to the hotel The service was excellent. All the employees went beyond to ensure we enjoyed our time there. We also enjoyed the food at their restaurant. The included breakfast was perfect for us, and we really liked the food for dinner.

We felt the price for dinner was high, but again, we really enjoyed the food.

“Home away from home” is the first thing that comes to mind. Everything was just perfect. We were greeted by the lovely “Khawla” who mad sure throughout our stay that we are having the best experience. The same was the case with all the staff (housekeeping, dinning, etc.). The location is another great advantage of the Riad, it is in the old town, and walking distance to the Kasba and the city tour bus main stop.

    Nothing

We liked everything about the hotel! From the beginning, when a hostess Khawla offered us moroccan mint tea with a plate of traditional pastries until the end, when we smoothly checked out and went to the American Legation museum which literally located next door!! Our room was bright and big, clean and well equipped. The restaurant at the hotel is a hidden gem of Tangier. We had a chance to listen to a small concert of traditional moroccan music in it in the evening. Breakfast was delicious and various. Highly recommend Riad Tanja by chef Moha for your stay in Tangier! Many thanks to the hotel team.

    There's nothing to complain about.

The breakfast was really nice, and the bright yellow room was really nice. It has a massive TV. It’s a beautiful Riad. Has a nice restaurant that’s open whole day. The workers are supper friendly. The people who served us breakfast and dinner they were really nice and positive. This Riad is close Grand Socco. Which is like 5 minutes walk.

The fact that it did not have a safe, and we wanted to keep our passports. We had to carry our passport with us.

The staff is amazing and always available to help. The room and hotel decoration is beautiful and the location is perfect to explore the old part of the city but also the new part or walk to the beach. The roof was lovely to go at the end of the day!

It was well located and attractively decorated. We were able to easily explore Tangier on foot and the staff were friendly and helpful

Not their fault but the view from the restaurant looks out over an area which is being redeveloped and is currently mostly rubble. The food in the restaurant was fine but nothing special and rather expensive for what it was.

I picked this hotel as it was close to the port for an early ferry trip the next morning. Nice greeting with mint tea and cookies. Handy to the medina for a stroll and dinner. Cute bathroom, good shower

Maybe the staff were a bit vocal in the night

The location of this Riad is a short walk to the stairs entering the Medina making it convenient for taxi drop off/pick up. I liked that it was in a quieter section of the Medina. The room was quite spacious with a large bathroom, sitting area and sleeping area. The air conditioning worked very well. Local musician played in the lounge area of the Riad in the evening. Breakfast had good variety and was fresh.

When we checked in, we were offered tea and snacks and asked if we would like to have it in our room or in the lounge in front of our room. We opted for the lounge however it never arrived. One of the reasons I chose this Riad was for it's rooftop terrace. A couple weeks before our stay I noticed some reviews mentioned it was closed due to construction so I reached out to ask if it would be open for our stay. They advised that it would be open as construction would be completed. When we arrived it was clear that the construction was not complete and the terrace was closed. The noise from this construction was significant and started quite early and finished late. On our check out day we had to catch an 8am train so I inquired about a takeaway breakfast option. The man I spoke to told me he would check with the kitchen and let me know. We went out for supper and saw the man who informed us that the restaurant would serve us breakfast early (7am) the following day. I was impressed as I believe the regular start time was 8am however on the following morning we got up and went to the restaurant only to find no one around. We hung around 10 mins or so but no one showed up. I had read so many great reviews about the friendliness of the staff but I feel we missed out on that. Restaurant was pricey, discount for guests of the Riad would be nice.
