Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe stairs were high! We had to watch our step. It was helpful to have motion sensor lighting for the stairs.
Beautiful colors mark this riad! Breakfast, served in the terrace, was delicious and ample. Oussama was an excellent host at breakfast, always cheerful, tireless, and attentive. The view of the mountains from the terrace during breakfast were breathtaking. It helped that it was April when the sun was just right. The location of this riad is unparalleled - very close to the medina and the Royal Palace. Many city facilities within walking distance. At our request, the staff recommended a restaurant that Moroccans frequented. We tried it out on the first day - and to which we returned on our third day there. Also, they quickly arranged a grand taxi with a fabulous driver for our day trip to Moulay Abdeslam and Chefchaouen and back. After checking out, we were able to leave our bags in storage for a few hours before we left the city.

GermanyI have nothing to complain about.
The Dar is a lovingly restored house right in the medina near the royal palace. It is beautifully and lavishly furnished. Everything is full of art and ornamentation. The roof terrace offers a wonderful view. The breakfast is varied and lovingly prepared. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. It was a wonderful stay and I can highly recommend the hotel.

United KingdomWhat's not to like?
Great location between the medina and modern town (although we needed help from a "guide" to find it!). Welcoming and very helpful staff. Beautiful interior and good shower. Kettle in the room. Breakfast on the roof terrace with views of the city. Good value, would stay again.

IrelandThe breakfast was 3/4 varieties of breads ( crêpes, crumpet, local bread) 1 egg, The laughing cow cheese triangles, a variety of sugar spreads(jam, marmalade, honey) and no fruit, which is grand if you want a carbs and sugar breakfast but if not I'd skip the free breakfast. Everything else was great about the place.
Decor, location and staff all amazing.

SpainI would prefer fried eggs instead of boiled.
The location was perfect, not to into the Medina. The staff also superb! Bed was comfy as well. One things that I loved the most is the fact that they were super friendly with my son (a 2yo naughty one)

FranceThere was a slight dampness & smell, but that’s not surprising given its age. As I have dust mite allergies that worried me a little but in the end I was fine. My only criticism is the lighting could be better. Some nice soft, warm lamps would help accentuate the decoration and bring out the charm of the rooms. There was only a cold white light from the ceiling & a small use left bedside lamp which is a shame.
This riad is magnificent in its design. It’s such a precious experience to stay in such a beautiful place with such pleasant staff. At the entrance of the medina, next to the palace, it’s easyish to find but we struggled & were kindly guided by a local. The front door is recognisable by the flags hanging outside. Otherwise it would be difficult to find. The room had everything it needed and was clean. The breakfast was good, served in the lower courtyard space. There was tea, coffee, different Moroccan breads & a wonderful freshly squeezed orange juice. I also really loved the roof terrace with its views of the old quarter and the setting sun. Breakfast can be served there too.

United StatesVery small room and bathroom needs to be updated.
Suleiman at front desk was wonderful. He met our taxi and helped us with our bags both coming and going. He also arranged a taxi from Tangier to Tétouan and Tetouan to Chefchaouen for us. Very nice & friendly throughout. The common lobby and breakfast areas were very nice. Good breakfast. The location was good. Restaurants nearby. Lots of narrow steps to get to our room (common in old riads). Room was fine but very small and bathroom needs to be updated.

United KingdomThe only thing to be aware of is that the hotel is in a pedestrian part of town so you have to walk from the taxi for about 5 mins. Also the stairs in the riad are incredibly steep and narrow so not suitable for children or mobility impaired.
