How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe property is decorated to a high standard , is clean and well situated. The outside space is lovely, with a terrace and small dipping pool. Breakfast was delicious.
The safe in the room was not secured in any way at all, simply sitting on a shelf and could have easily been picked up and removed rendering it useless. Wine was available at the Riad; however, the mark up was outrageous, an 80dirham bottle was charged to guests at 280 .
Dear Anne, Thank you so much for your kind words about our decoration, the breakfast, and our team. We are truly glad to hear that you enjoyed these aspects of your stay with us. Please rest assured while the safe is not fixed inside the wardrobe, it is securely locked, and no one has access to your room except for our housekeeping team, who follow strict security protocols. We have never encountered an issue of someone entering a guest’s room and taking the safe, and your belongings remain secure with us. And for the pricing of alcoholic beverages, we understand your concerns. We follow the standard method used in the hospitality industry ( from 3 to 5), applying a consistent coefficient to cover the costs of taxes, service, and operations. In our case, we use a coefficient of 3,5 which is within the usual range for hotels and ensures we can continue to provide quality products and service sustainably. Also because in Morocco, the government requires establishments to obtain a paid alcohol license in order to sell alcoholic beverages. Additionally, to maintain this license, the government collects a 10% tax on all alcoholic drinks sold. Warm regards, Valerie

Verified reviewThe staff at Riad Anata are amazing. Very friendly and helpful. They gave us a lot of information for our stay in Fes. The room was very comfortable and have everything we needed. The breakfasts on the rooftop were great, with new options everyday. This was our favorite breakfast of the 5 places we stayed in Morocco. We enjoyed taking time in the afternoon to enjoy the views from the roof. The location was great, it wasn't far of a walk to get dropped off and picked up and we could easily walk to restaurants and sites in and out of the Medina.
A minor issue, but we only received one large bottle of water upon check in, but for the length of our stay we ended up buying more water from a nearby store. It would be nice if they refreshed the room water, but not a big deal it was a fantastic stay.
Dear Nicholas, Thank you very much for your lovely feedback. It has been a pleasure to host you. Warm regards and safe travels,

Verified reviewIncredible Stay! Well curated, very comfortable, and really cute! Staff was very welcoming, accommodating, and all around fantastic. Cannot recommend this riad enough! Exceptional value. The breakfast in the mornings on the roof was just awesome! We also did the cooking class as a family of 6 adults. That was fabulous! We learned so much and it was one of the best Moroccan meals we had. Chef Hanissa is an expert.
Dear Yesha, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! We are glad you have enjoyed your stay with us and the Cooking Class.💙 Warm regards and safe travels

Verified reviewLocation, staff, spacious and comfortable room.
The riad itself is not a riad, because it’s quite small and doesn’t have any garden. So it’s mostly the room experience, like a hotel.
Dear Polina, Thank you very much for your review. We’re glad you have enjoyed your stay with us. It is indeed a “Dar” which is a traditional Moroccan house not a “RIAD” with a fountain inside. Warm regards and safe travel

Verified reviewWe had an amazing experience at Riad Anata! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and attention that we immediately felt at home. The entire team is exceptional, always ready to assist with anything we needed, including organizing our activities in Fez. One of the highlights of our stay was, without a doubt, the Moroccan cooking class with Chef Samira. She guided us with so much patience and joy, sharing the secrets and traditions of Moroccan cuisine in such an engaging and unforgettable way. A unique and delicious experience that we highly recommend to everyone!

Verified reviewFirst of all the staff at Riad Anata are amazing. Big shout out to Driss for all his help and kindness, but everyone was so great. The Riad is classy, quiet and comfortable too. We stayed on the ground floor and the room was spacious and the bed was so comfy. Breakfast and sunset drinks on the rooftop terrace were wonderful ways to bookend days exploring Fes. The location was right in the old Medina and only a short walk to great restaurants. Highly recommend staying here.
Nothing. It was wonderful.

The hosts are unbelievably kind and make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Located in a quiet yet central part of the Medina, it offers the perfect balance of tranquility and convenience.
