My stay at the Iguana Azul was simply wonderful! If you are looking for a place to relax, quiet, with breathtaking views and extremely kind staff, Iguana is everything you could want to spend extremely happy days in Chefchaouen. Starting with the location, which when you arrive in the vicinity of the Medina you will walk about 5 minutes to reach the accommodation. It is located inside the medina, close to all points of interest, picturesque streets, restaurants, cafes. Speaking of coffee, you will have a transcendental experience when you have breakfast beautifully organized by the iguana staff. In addition to being delicious and filling, the view is stunning, to the mountains. I loved to spend at least two hours of my day there relaxing. There is also, on the floor above, a decorated Rooftop, where you will have a panoramic view of the blue city 🫂 The employees are there to help with everything necessary, such as visiting tips, buying tickets, recommending restaurants and whatever else is necessary. There's nothing better than staying in a smaller place with people who care. That stands above everything else. Walid and Jabir and the team made our stay so amazing. I made the reservations last minute in the middle of the night and still Walid was there asking how he could help. He scheduled a car from Tangier for us and one back to Tangier. When we arrived, they met us, helped us bring our luggage up the cobble streets and brought us mint tea and biscuits on the rooftop terrace. Our room was lovely, right in the middle of everything. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. Don't go to Chefchaouen for a day. Stay a few days and take your time exploring. We took a cooking class and it too was amazing. I'm so glad we made this last minute decision. Oh it was my birthday and with our takeaway breakfast they also left me with a little gift. Honestly, this is why I travel, for experiences like this. So amazing! Thank you so much for a fabulous stay!!

I had an incredible stay at Iguana Azul in Chefchaouen! The guesthouse is charming, clean, and perfectly situated, but what truly made the experience unforgettable were the hosts, Jaber and Walid. They were incredibly attentive, entertaining, and genuinely kind—always ready to help with anything we needed. From local tips to spontaneous laughs, they made us feel so welcome. Everything was perfect with our stay. Location...perfect. Right in the heart of the blue city and 5 minutes to the Kasbah Room...perfect. great size and we loved the balcony. Breakfast...perfect. A great start to the day. The staff...perfect. Walid, Jaber are amazing guy's 👏 knowledgeable about Chefchaouen and advising on places to visit or places to eat. I don`t remember when I gave a full rating last time for a stay. The hotel is perfect located in the middle of the blue perl Chefchaouen. I was welcome by super friendly staff who let me chose the room as I was the only guest in the house. My room was small but very cosy, modern, clean and equipped with everything I could need. I would even say full European standard. I had two different pillows which is perfect for guys like me. The AC is modern, quite and you can switch off the light - so very comfortable at night. A lot of electricity switches - not typically in Morocco. With the night rooftop area you can look over the whole midtown. The staff is super friendly and supportive in all things…and sympathic, as well. In the middle of the center you can explore everything closely. Saying that I had the best stay here in Morocco is just the true. By leaving early in the morning, I god a breakfast for take away - really kind!

There's nothing not to like.

What a great find! A newly renovated Riad with modern facilities, but an authentic character, right in the heart of the Medina. The bed was comfortable with good quality linen and we liked the decorative touches. There are lovely places to sit and relax including the rooftop.The staff was welcoming, communicated effectively and went far and beyond to assist us. We appreciated their friendliness, kindness and approachable manner. Special thanks to Jabir who helped solve a difficult situation.

The staff was great! They arranged pickup for our luggage at the parking/drop off area for the medina so we didn't have to carry it the 5 minutes beyond. They also gave advice on the area and gave us links to various locations. The room was very clean and comfortable with a small balcony and breakfast was delicious. Plus they'll make you tea whenever you'd like.

Iguana Azul might just be one of the best accommodations in Chefchaouen! It’s nestled in a quiet part of the medina, yet just a short walk from the main square — the perfect balance of peace and convenience. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was also one of the best I had during my entire trip to Morocco. And last but definitely not least, Walid is an incredibly welcoming host who goes above and beyond to make guests feel at home. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a stay in Chefchaouen.

Everything was a per expectation.

Cute riad in the middle of blue city Chefchaouen. Quality breakfast and above and beyond customer service. Team even packed breakfast for us as we were leaving before breakfast time. Neat touch and we loved it. Excellent choice to stay in the heart of small town of Chefchaouen.

Perfect stay at Iguana Azul in Chefchaouen My friend and I stayed at Iguana Azul for three nights and absolutely loved it. Our room was spotless, fresh, and felt almost new. The bed was huge and super comfortable, with two separate blankets — no fighting over the covers at night! There was also air conditioning, which made it even more comfortable. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome and were always ready to assist with anything — whether it was questions about things to do in the area or helping us book a cooking class or hammam visit. Breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious, and the rooftop terrace is a beautiful, peaceful place to relax. The location is perfect too: right in the heart of Chefchaouen’s charming little streets. We truly felt at home and taken care of. This place is a gem and we’ll definitely come back. Walid and Jabier were energetic, kind and helpful with all our needs. They gave great suggestions of where to eat and what to see in the village. The room was very clean and organized in the bathroom worked perfectly. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The location was Central and it was easy to discover the entire village from there. We also spent some time on the rooftop terrace with coffee and a dessert 🍪.
